back to the yolks.....
I just saw this today and thought of your discussion:
Egg Yolk Paints (egg tempera) Carefully crack open an egg. Separate the yolk from the white. Mix 2 mL (1/2 tsp) water with the yolk. Pour a little of the yolk mixture into several small cups. Add food colouring, using a different colour for each cup. Use a brush to paint your egg. If the paint gets too thick, add a few drops of water. Note: Egg yolk paints can be used to paint designs on sugar cookies before they are put in the oven, or to paint faces or designs on bread before making sandwich or toast. Pop bread into toaster to dry the paint. |
WEll isn't that a cute idea!

I use that yolk paint on sugar cookies at Christmas.

the final decision about the biscotti. i bought them. 6 cookies. that's all!!!!! No coping with ingredients. no messy kitchen. no hot oven.
i'm done!!!!! |
You're one smart cookie (or should I say biscotti ...) :D
|
and the saddest part??? there are 4 left!!!!!!
but inquiring minds want to know: WHAT HAPPENED TO THE DEVILED EGGS??????? |
Yulks taste so much better though!
However, seriously, when I was restricting myself to whites, I just put them in one of those plastic containers in the fridge and when somebody feels like using them for salad or hot dish, they can just squash it. Besides, I don't eat more than two full eggs a day, but then I used to live with a big family, and there was usually someone hungry around :) lol. |
