Congrats, Dagmar! Woo!

Still at 132 lbs. :goodscale:. I've gotten out of the habit of binge eating when upset apparently. Had to fire my housepainter in a quite ugly confrontation. I didn't eat away my anger that evening. :yay:
Now we have a long weekend and we have to do part of the painting ourselves, instead of enjoying the time off. Still not overeating and will not do so on the weekend when I'm feeling sorry for myself. Hard to do that though- I will have a NEW CAR tomorrow! :woohoo: Gonna be a lot of driving mixed in with the painting this weekend! Dagmar :cloud9: |
Dagmar - I saw some of the drama going on with your house painter. Good job on not stress eating after that, for real. Enjoy the new car! <3
I'm tired this week. The boy started 9th grade yesterday - he is not old enough to be in high school. Nope nope nope. |
Dagmar... What did the ex-housepainter do?

He wrote up a contract detailing what would be done in each room.We both signed it. He was very busy so said he would sandwich my small job in between 2 big ones and that he only had 2 days to paint my 2 rooms. OK. In order to help my husband and I did all the prep - taking down art, moving the furniture, and packing up all the breakables. All the painters had to do was paint. He and his son (who is his assistant) showed up and he said he couldn't paint that day because he had heat stroke. I was fine with that so he left the son to paint and he disappeared. I came home at around 2:30 and they were just leaving. He said his son couldn't roller the walks because he "forgot to bring him a roller". They live 4 blocks away from me so why couldn't the son walk home and get the roller?I left them a key to let themselves in and out that morning. I went upstairs to look at what had been done. I became concerned after seeing how little had been done in the one room. And there was no primer, just 2 coats of cutting at all the edges. This was not what we had agreed on and I called him to ask for an explanation. I called 3 times and he never got back to me. He finally did call back and said they would put 3 coats of paint on the walls the next day. I pointed out that my husband had had problems with the walls and that 3 coats wouldn't stay on the walls unless there was adequate drying time. He brushed me off. The next day they showed up and I again asked for an explanation of what he was doing. He started talking about putting oil primer on the walls upstairs and also in the totally unpainted room. I voiced my concerns again that he was putting oil primer over already painted latex edges and that 3 coats of paint on our old walls without adequate drying time would make the walls bubble and the paint peel. The then yelled at me to shut up and that he had the floor. I told him to keep his deposit, give me the can of paint already in use, cancel and sign the contract, and clear out. I used a very calm but intense tone - no yelling - and kept repeating that I wanted them to leave. He shouted at me again about what a stupid *&^%$ I was and how I was wasting his time. Then he and the son got their stuff and the paint and stormed out. Dagmar |
Wow... I wonder if he's a drinker... a lot of house painters seem to be... I would have called the sheriff to have him removed. And I'd be suing him in small claims court for damages--not because I'd get anything, but just to be annoying.
Sorry this happened to you! |
Dagmar - how is your car?
