Feeling rather low again, all due to a number. I hate when my mood gets dictated by a number.

Aunt Flow was one I never heard until I came to 3fc.

How exciting! Keep us posted.

Megan and Saef-- I suspect you are both seeing temporary blips on the scale.

The Hunger Games opened yesterday and DW and I went to see . . . The Artist. Yep, we're at least one step behind the wave, LOL.

It was neat to see a silent movie!

I did download the first chunk of The Hunger Games to my PC Kindle, for free from Amazon. It's a page-turner, but didn't grab me like The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Maybe I'll get around to it; fast reading to be sure.

I'm dogsitting - crappy computer. Catch you all Tuesday when I'm back at home.

That's so funny, Bill. Most people (me included) couldn't get into The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo at all. I remember telling most people to persevere as it gets better. The Hunger Games caught me right off the bat.

Both DS and DD went to see Hunger Games--report from DD is that everyone should see it (note that it was directed to her friends--not the world as a whole). DS is still asleep so I doubt I'll have his review until lunch.

I'm eagerly awaiting DD's report of what (if anything) she learned from CGU.

Golfing this afternoon and tonight is a Chris Botti concert (get to wear my new dress!).

Weight report: Saturday is my "official" weigh-in day--the one I use to change tickers. I knew I'd been up all week and was not looking forward to this morning, however it's only up .5 pound, so I'm fine with that. I'm not going to change my ticker as I'm fairly certain that half pound will be gone by tomorrow.

Allison , you are going to look great in your dress. I do like to dress up sometimes, you know, the works, heels, jewelry, etc. I wear jeans and khakis a lot.
My scale has not moved in over 2 weeks but yesterday I put on a pair of jeans that I could actually button with ease, last time I tried to wear those jeans I couldn't begin to button them.

I know what you mean. I wear jeans and shorts or capri's all the time. I'll have DS take a photo of me and DH tonight and I'll post it tomorrow.

I put on my golf shorts today--the ones that are a size 10, and they're so loose that they keep sliding down over my hips. The size 8 is still a tad snug, though.

I'm going to have to go through my closet (and soon!). I need to get rid of things I'll never wear again. That may include a couple pair of dressier capri's in size 6--I don't think I'll ever be a 6 again. That was when I was at about 130-135. That is no longer my goal as that was way too hard to maintain. But in going through the closet, I'll have to try most things on and assess the fit (there are a few things that will be an automatic toss as they're things I just don't want any longer despite how they fit).

I'm a little sunburned from golf, but here's the photo of me in my new dress: James and Allison. Oh, and don't look at my hair--I'm trying to grow it out and it's a a horrible stage. I'm thinking it would be easier to just cut it again (and it might be better for our cruise anyway).

saef 03-25-2012 01:02 PM

Allison, your dress is a breath of summer -- it looks like a watercolor painting. The cut is very flattering. Excellent choice.

Bargoo, congratulations on your granddaughter's appearance in this world. I hope your daughter is doing well.

Oh, and you're right, I think the scale may be a blip, as I did get my period the day after the annoying gain. My cycle is down to 18 days now. Oh, hormones. Can't live with them, can't live without them.

ICUwishing 03-25-2012 02:39 PM

bargoo, congratulations! Glad to hear that everyone is well!

saef, 18 days? Good grief! At least the scale warned you it was coming ... good thing considering how much of an unpleasant surprise it can be!

allison - lovely dress, and I agree with saef, you look like a beautiful spring day!

I was down, now I'm up ... still seesawing on a tiny downward trend. It's been a very good month, weight-wise.

My greater concern at the moment is a writing assignment that I need to be working on (like, right now, and yet here I am :p) . The majority of my writing experience and comfort zone is the fiction side, and this particular assignment is a 3,000 word personal essay. Now, I don't know about most of you, but I don't feel like I've done a dang thing in my life that could merit 3000 words. 1000, yeah, maybe I could hold a reader's interest that long. But 3000? Lordy! In this world of blogging and "just get it out there", I'm strung out over the concept of trying to produce something that's worthy of the electrons/ink/paper, instead of just filling space. There's so much mediocrity out there, and I don't want to add to it!!! But it's an assignment, it's on a deadline, and it doesn't need to be perfect. I am a Nike rubber ball. JUST DO IT!! :frypan:
