Maintainers moving in December
Tis the season of cold weather, holiday parties, and extra commitments.
Will you stay commited in December to taking care of yourself? Post your activities, exercise, gift wrapping, etc!:carrot: |
December 1:
60 minutes Zumba Days: 1 Minutes: 60 |

39 minutes elliptical (put resistance way up to 20 since I knew I was short on time!) Days: 2 Minutes: 99 minutes |

December 4: 90 minutes Bikram Yoga-- I don't think I've ever sweat so much in my life. I still can't figure out why sometimes I sweat so much more than other times-- my heart was pounding the whole class. I tried to count the beats using the clock in the room but I know it wasn't accurate-- but it was too fast!! Totals: 4 days 279 minutes |
Thanks for starting the thread, Michele. Much appreciated.
Catching up here after being away for several days: Thursday, Dec. 1: Went to the gym after a full day of work and dinner, when I sooo did not want to. Anyway, 20 minutes on stairmaster stepper, 60 minutes weights with lots of lat pulldowns and 40 minutes of random hills on recumbent bike with resistance at eight. Friday, Dec. 2: 45 minute spin class, a relentless one, as the younger instructor is finding her "personality" and style in class and has started upping the ante. Saturday, Dec. 3: Walking all day in Manhattan, from about 9 AM to about 10 PM. Sunday, Dec. 4: Nothing. Driving for about six hours, then, upon my return, entertaining my friend in my mother's living room because her husband wasn't home, she hadn't taken her keys with her on our weekend jaunt & she'd been locked out of the house accidentally. Dinner, a little eBay to check on my ending auctions and bed. |
Monday, Dec. 5: 60 minutes arc trainer, resistance at eight, hill intervals
60 minute Pi-Yo class, which is supposed to be a combination of yoga and Pilates. It was mostly yoga moves, with just a bit of Pilates at the end. (How I miss my Pilates class.) Usually I can't try out this class because I am working and it runs from 10:30 - 11:30. There were a lot of retirees and they struggled to follow the instructor, who ought to show more modifications. I know the modifications from other classes but the people here did not seem to know them. |

30 minutes Body Pump 30 minutes CX works (core and strength training) 60 minutes Body Combat Totals: 5 days 399 minutes |
Tuesday, Dec. 6:
20 minutes on recumbent bike, manual setting, resistance at eight 60 minutes arm & shoulders routine 40 minutes Stairmaster stepper, aerobic intervals, resistance at six. With me on the sole stepper that works, the really good newer one having conked out two weeks ago, still unfixed, and the other one I'd been using also dying noisily even as I was doing weights. |
Dec 1 - 6 mile run
Dec 3 - 5.5 mile run so far, that's what I got. |
12/1: dog walk
12/2: 20 min wog 4:1 run:walk, 10 mins core 12/3: 75 min moderate/vigorous yoga class (I did a headstand!) 12/4: longish dog walk 12/5: none 12/6: 20 min wog 3:30::1:30 run::walk 12/7: planning pilates at lunchtime |
Wednesday, Dec. 7th:
45 minute spin class, in which I actually felt a bit light-headed at moments while sweating and peddling. We do three heart rate checks during class. I am thinking I'll pick up a heart rate monitor after Christmas. |

Dec. 7: 30 minutes Boot Camp, 30 minutes CX core training Totals: 6 days 459 minutes |
12/7: about 40 mins pilates. I used printables from Blogilates.com this time and I think it worked out okay. Easier than bringing in my laptop to do youtube videos, but not as motivating as hearing an instructor encouraging me to keep going. Super sore today though!
12/8: 20 min wog, 3:30::1:30 run::walk, plus a couple additional minutes cooldown walk. |
Thursday, Dec. 8th:
20 minutes on recumbent bike, resistance at a consistent eight, manual setting 60 minutes shoulders and arm workout, pushups and bench pressing 40 minutes Stairmaster stepper, resistance at six and at aerobic setting. The newest & nicest machine has been fixed, thank goodness. |
