Default Keeping The Weight OFF!

HI! I don't normally post in this area, but I plan to in about 10 more pounds. I saw this story online this morning....

http://health.yahoo.net/articles/wei...-i-kept-pounds

...and one sentence jumped off the page at me. Here it is:

"A recent study from the Penn State College of Medicine found that only about 1 in every 6 Americans who has ever been overweight or obese loses weight and then somehow manages to keep the pounds off."

I am so thankful I found 3FC when I started this journey. I know I can do it with the tools I have learned here and the support so freely given here.

Good to see you, Annie! If you've lost and kept off any weight, well, you're a maintainer. I'm certainly not at a goal weight but I find hanging around here very helpful. Please stick around!

Hey, Annie! Much, much information here about the longest phase, and it's good you're joining early. Check out the stickies - it's a gold mine of information. The recipes alone ... divine!

I was one of the other 5 people for 20 years. It took me that long to figure out I couldn't diet, lose weight and stop and hope to keep the weight off. I had to change how I ate forever. I am working on 5.5 years of maintenance at my goal weight thanks to that one simple mental shift.

That's why I started coming here, I'm so close to goal I need to start learning how it's done!

The best people you can learn from our the maintainers. They are the ones who succeeded in their efforts and learn to not fall back on old habits.

Hope to see you around more I'm about 10 lbs from goal right now too!
