:) cats
:) puppies (new one coming next Monday) :) restorative yoga class :) my slow cooker (so I can go to class Sunday afternoon) :) DH's sense of the absurd Dagmar :yoga: |
I need to be more grateful this month, too. :)
-the fact that my five year old stepson still wants to hug me, and tells me I'm his step-Shannon, not his step-mommy, because step-mommies are mean in the stories and I'm nice and I love him -cold water -my cat purring on my tummy -stoneyfield farm greek yogurt with honey on the bottom -DH spontaneously telling me how great I looked the other night without even realizing how icky I had been feeling all day |
I may have to really reach here!
*That we caught the leak in our roof fairly early, so that the damage was limited. *That we have money in savings to pay for a new roof *That we have a guest room to sleep in while cleaning out the moldy drywall from our master bedroom *That I have a dad who will help me re-drywall and paint the bedroom once we fix the mold/roof issue. Yeah... |
* For more and more minutes of daylight - meaning spring is coming!
* cats and their silly antics * DH who is as I type bringing in firewood (and vacumned the house earlier :) ) * the fact that the earthquake in Chile only generated only "slightly higher than normal" waves in Alaska (though I don't live on the water, I have many friends who do). * that my friend had a healthy (and sooo cute) baby boy over 4#, after being hospitalized on bed rest since before Christmas |
My son called me the best Mom ever this morning!
I got in my workout despite having slept horribly last night I had a great OP weekend (but my weight is up--probably from lack of sleep) My DH got his restricted license (no more ferrying him to and from work) Chicken enchiladas on the menu this week |
-coffee
-Vitamin D supplements -my long leather trenchcoat that blocked the wind this morning -sunshine later in the afternoon -that we survived the weekend without any more major trouble from DSS |
I am in a funk, and I really, really need to post here & work on turning around my attitude.
1) That it hasn't snowed for four days, and that, in fact, it's been sunny & the snow is melting. 2) That I have many good friends, to whom I should reach out more. 3) That my 118-pound Friedrich airconditioner is being delivered today, and it will keep me cool in the summertime. 4) That my mammogram came back looking good earlier this week. 5) That I remembered Sunday that my Macy's bill was due, and drove over to pay it off, which saved me from having to do it after 8 PM last night when I got back from work & the gym so very tired. 6) That RuPaul's drag race was on for several hours last night & reminded me it's not just me -- there is really **a lot** of effort & artifice required in playing a beautiful woman. |
1. That the first of asparagus has arrived!
2. That strawberries are on their way! 3. That Seed Savers International ships tomato and pepper transplants, so I can still have neat heirlooms after my seeds don't take because I'm not so great a gardener. 4. Iced Cranberry Green Tea 5. Bowls of yogurt w/ frozen blueberries and crumbled freeze dried mango for crunch |
-bananas
-that the snow falling outside my window isn't sticking to the roads, only to the trees and bushes and pretty places -that DH got some sleep last night -that I got a message today just in time to get required info to the DOL on an unemployment hearing that turned it in our favor -coffee (that I forgot to drink until just right now) |
My solar is officially working! We got the final inspection from Edison yesterday!!!
I have a few tomatoes left (after my dogs had a feast on the plant) That today is turning out to be a lot less stressful than yesterday (or last week as a whole!) That our credit card companies are looking out for us (two calls on "unusual" activity due to our employees up in Washington using the cards) That my son called me the "bestest" mom ever! (I guess he really likes Toaster Strudel!) |
1. The mold and water damage are both contained to the area we knew about and have cleaned up.
2. FINALLY, roofers are calling me back to give me estimates! 3. The mold and water damage are both contained to the area we knew about and have cleaned up. 4. I get to sleep in my bedroom again. 5. The mold and water damage are both contained to the area we knew about and have cleaned up. :cheer: |
1) Temps in the 40's this week!!!
2) Snow is melting away 3) Spring is coming soon 4) 5.3mph is now my "recovery" pace 5) Carter loves to be a jogging buddy |
Alison, credit card companies are being very careful lately. They actually cancelled our card because it was being used at home and in Hawaii (we hadn't called to tell them DH was traveling). They issued a new one no problem, except the nuisance of remembering how many things I have set up to autopay! You can be sure we'll tell them he's going to AZ at the end of next week.
* so I guess I'm grateful that the CC company was looking out for us :) * temps above freezing during the day * that we have tickets to New England (and on to FL for me) in April * that my retirement insurance became effective 3/1 as promised * that the former major source of stress in my life is gone |
Pat~what is weird is that we don't normally inform them of travel...when I went to Italy and DH stayed home, he didn't get any alert. It was Am Exp just like today, only it was our personal card rather than our business card. The other call was from Home Depot--we have several employees with cards linked to the company account and they spent $1000 up in Washington so they called. I was very happy with both calls. I've had calls when DH uses a card he'd really never used before, but at that time he'd left his cell home and I didn't know what he was up to. It all turned out ok, though.
I don't think it's quite right for a cc company to cancel without notifying you first. What if it had been me in Italy (although I carry several cards, still...). Ok, to come up with some new gratitudes: ~our customer paid an invoice within 3 days of billing (unheard of with this one!!!) ~I got off early to go pick up the check ~I have dinner ready to go when DH calls to say he's on his way home ~DS is watching TV with me as we wait for DH (he usually holes out in his room) ~um, that's it...I keep watching the news that they found the girl's body. So very sad for her family. It sounds like she was a great daughter/friend/student, etc. |
