S/C/G: Maintaining 142-148

Height: 5 ft 8.5" athlete who can give a punch & certainly take one too! :)

Question Minor/major maintenance, one in the same?

Well today marks 22 months of maintenance for me and I'm thrilled to have another month under my belt. Yippee!

Is their a length of time needed to have passed to consider ourselves a true success?

I'm pretty dayum proud of myself for getting to this level and staying on top of my maintenance game. Yes, I work at it, but it certainly was do-able to get to goal and stay within my 6 pound safe buffer zone (3 lbs above goal or 3 lbs below goal) month after month. Look out 2 years, cuz here I come!

I know others have lost five times more weight than myself, yet I still feel like a minority sometimes. But hey, I lost weight and I'm maintaining too! Minor or not, I still consider it pretty major! This is why I wanted to make a post shout out, so others like myself or featherweights can see someones success from a "little losers" perspective!

Whether it's a 10 pound maintenance or a 100 pound maintenance, it still takes effort & we should be treated the same, regardless of how much we have lost.

Congratulations on another successful month of maintenance, Wendalyn!

And you're absolutely right -- maintenance of any weight loss, regardless of amount, is worth celebrating!

Wendalyn, I think the statistics on regain get remarkably better once you get past the 5 year mark. You've got 22 months under your belt, and you know what to do, so you'll make it!

I think we're a true success when we decide to make a lifestyle change and commit to it!

Congratulations on 22 months of maintenance! It's an awesome accomplishment, and you should be incredibly proud of yourself. And what you said in your last sentence is so true--it's hard to maintain any amount of weight loss.

Congratulations on 22 months of maintenance!!! I LOVE your enthusiasim. You sound just as excited (rightfully so) about how your life has changed for the better as any loser around here. You WERE a loser and now you ARE a maintainer. That's the bottom line. No difference what the numbers are, you maintainer you.
