Default May I join you?

Today I reached goal officially. So, now the hard work of maintaining begins. I must say I am pretty nervous about gaining my weight back, but I have no intention of going back to my old eating habits, and I have every intention of staying active.

Anyway, I lost 80 pounds and weighed in this morning at 149.8 My goal was 150. So, any tips for a new maintainer?

I just posted my before/after pics here if interested : http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/show...24#post2355224

Mom! May I say that you have quite a cute little tush now? Congratulations on your weight loss and we're thrilled to have you join in with us here at Maintainers! Being nervous is perfectly natural now but don't you worry -- we aren't going to let you gain the weight back.

I think our biggest tip that we always give to a successful loser like you who is just embarking on the rest of her life is -- don't change anything!! Maintenance looks an awful lot like losing, with the addition of a few extra calories. So keep doing everything you did to lose the weight and add in a few extra calories or a splurge meal every week. Monitor your weight closely and you'll find the sweet spot that lets you maintain. And maintenance is a great place to be!

Post away, Mom -- we're all looking forward to getting to know you better.

Welcome, Mom! Congrats on your loss, you look amazing!

Meg hit the nail on the head with her tip, so I won't add anything.

That's it in a nutshell. Continue on with what you've been doing and you will transisition perfectly from "loser" to "maintainer". Oh and listen to Meg.

Welcome to maintainers. So very glad you're here. It's a GREAT place to be.

Congrats! I think constantly making new goals, whether they are exercise or fitness goals, or maybe learning a new sport, starting a class like pilates or kayaking -- anything -- helps to maintain.

Welcome and congratulations mom!!!

Don't be scared about maintaining. It is hard work but it is also totally doable! Having a bunch of supportive people who can relate to you also helps. And Meg, our bionic woman, is always right lol. Just listen to her.

You did it!!! Good news, it doesn't get any harder, bad news, it doesn't get a lot easier! But it's so totally worth the effort. And you will get so much support here.

Welcome to maintainers!
Your pics are awesome!
Everyone summed it up....maintaining looks a lot lot losing....just don't go back to doing what you were doing before!
I need to stay motivated and focused so I come here. I also do WW (don't know what program if any you did) so I still go to my meetings almost weekly. Again....keeps me focused.
