OK, I finally got on the scale this morning. 125. 3 pounds more than I like, 1 pound more than I thought. On the flip side, I actually think I'm leaner that I was before at this weight.
Ate my last pumpkin protein pancake for a while, packed food for the day in the car, and am about to go pack a cooler....but it's a vacation and I'll be with 8 other people. I'm going to try and run every morning, but the weather looks horrendous until the day we leave :( Have a GREAT rest of the week, folks! You all have helped me so much just by being here  Mel |
Okay, this is no excuses so I'd better fess up. I didn't work out yesterday. :o I had planned to take a 45-min powerwalk with the dog, then do some upper body strengthening, but circumstances beyond my control made me really busy and I didn't have time to work out until 8:30pm (DH took the dog for a walk while I was running errands). I know I should have gotten some exercise then, but I was lazy and sat on the couch watching American Idol instead. At least my food was pretty much OP (calories at least came in right), although there were some adjustments to the plan because of the crazy schedule yesterday.
Today I WILL get my exercise. I already took the dog for a short walk this morning, and I'm planning a longer one for after work. NO EXCUSES! |
Still at my goal weight, Have a lunch date with friends tomorrow, That will be a challenge. Will have to make good choices, instead of concentrating on food will try to concentrate on good fellowship with friends.

I went about 300-400 calories over the planned 1600-1700 calories range yesterday (putting me in a "maintaining" weight calorie range of just over 2000). BF offered to cook me dinner, spaghetti, and I intended to eat 1 cup of it, and 1/2 cup of the sauce, with the lean ground turkey I convinced him to use, but instead I ate about 2 cups of pasta and 1 of sauce. I felt really hungry (I was hungry, but I was also very tired), but I should have walked away and waited 15 minutes. Thank goodness he knows better than to get me garlic bread, that would have been disaster. I did go to bed early and got 8 1/2 whole hours of sleep, so I feel better today. I ran 3 miles at the gym (and walked 3) yesterday, so I had a great workout at least.
Amanda, I'm jealous that when you go to restaurants on travel they offer options like fat free sour cream and light ice cream. Great job!!! bargoo, enjoy your friends at lunch. :) Mel, have a great trip! Robin, I'm sure you'll have that POP day. Kim, way to kick happy hour in the pants! Michele, I hope today isn't too challenging for you. Stay strong! WTG everyone!!! Keep it up! :D :carrot: |
I have been to the gym and I have an observation. I think the Marquis de Sade invented the rowing machine.
You are 15 boats behind the pace ... you burned 17 calories ... next time try a slower pace! |
Megan - I was pretty impressed with the "naked" option myself...it replaced all the bad stuff with relatively good stuff (like brown rice) too! AND it was tasty.
Got up this morning at 5:15, did 45 minutes of hill running with a LB workout built in (ie, run up a hill, do 2 sets of squats, run down the hill, do the other two sets, find another hill to run up, do 2 sets of lunges, etc). I'm already feeling it from yesterday, so I know I'll be feeling it. In other news, this is the first time in, well, ever that I've gotten away from my home environment and my nice controlled plan and still maintained. I'm actually DOWN from the morning I left! Robin - learn from it and move on. Being accountable is the first step! Mel - travel safe! Paperclippy - what can you do to make sure you stick with your plan tomorrow? Keepin' on keepin' on over here. I had a slimfast high protein during my commute, have an orange, some strawberries, and a Pria bar packed for snacks, and will order the very best I can for lunch. Dinner is at my boss's house, but I can portion control whatever it is. Hope everyone has a phenomenal day! |
DD and I went out to dinner last night and split the dinner. We had a chopped salad with vinaigrette and each had half a chicken Parmesan sandwich. It probably wasn't the best choice, but half a sandwich is better than a whole one!
My weight is steady for the 2nd day. I didn't get my hour walk in yesterday because I got home so late and today will be no different. I hope to report tomorrow that the weight continues to stay the same or go down half a pound. |
Had a super NSV this morning. I've been eyeing some black jeans that taunt me from the closet shelf. I have not worn them for over 3 years as the waist wouldn't button (they're the same size as all my other jeans - what is it with black jeans?? ) This morning I can button them - and I have them on!! YAY! And they are tight enough in the wairst that there won't be any extra food consumed.
B - 2 scrambled eggs with red pepper, onions, mushrooms, toast with whipped cream cheese, :coffee: S - orange S - ff latte L - tamale pie over spinach salad (had this yesterday too, it's good!) S - 1/4 c lf cottage cheese, 1/4 c ff yogurt, peaches D - Barbara's chicken and cabbage chinese salad I've been looking for something for an evening snack that will derail me from wanting a carb with my hot tea (which I've resisted all week). Think I'll take a stroll through the grocery when I go out to my doc's appte - which, eek, I should leave for now. |
I forgot about Mothers Day! Between that and working evenings, I was going to miss a lifting day ... so I did shoulders at home this afternoon (I did cardio at the gym this morning). In my mind that's almost as good as two gym visits.
I'm probably still going to be one day short but it beats heck outta last week and the ten or so before that ;) |
Ok, I'm joining you all!
I just got back from the gym and did 1 hr. on the elliptical and some upper body weights. Will do abs tonight! I just had a yummy lunch of ground turkey in a Flat Out wrap with non-fat sour cream mixed with Fiesta ranch dip mix. Tasty! I am so much better when I am accountable for my eating, so thanks in advance for letting me join you! Therese |
Yay AZ!
Lunch - they brought in subway sandwiches, chips, and cookies. I grabbed a 6 inch turkey, put on some mustard (it didn't have any mayo on it), seized the only bag of baked Lays, and DID NOT EAT ANY COOKIES. I really, really thought I wanted a cookie. But I want to be on plan even more, soo...no cookie. |
So far so good today. It was a busy afternoon without time to stop for lunch. I did inhale an emergency protein bar but it barely made a dent. On my way between stops I passed a Steak n Shake and thought about how wonderful and filling a milkshake would be at that moment. I was pretty hungry because I never crave milkshakes. :dizzy: I just kept driving by.
Dinner tonight was grilled chicken on a tossed salad with dried cranberries, almond slivers and a little blue cheese. No dressing. And a cup of fresh mixed fruit. |
I was totally on plan yesterday, both eating and exercise. When I got home from work I could feel the energy start to dip so I went directly to the workout room and plugged in a video tape on resistance training. I got a call halfway through the workout; it was my sister from NY with an update on my brother who had surgery earlier in the day, so I really had to take the call. When I finished I rewound the tape and picked up where I left off. It would have been better to have done it all at one time but I didn't allow the interruption to shorten the amount of time I put into the workout.
When I came out for dinner I warmed up the veggie soup I had ready for myself and started DH's dinner. Mine was ready first so I told DH what needed to be done to finish up his and l-e-f-t the kitchen. He really is a gem and has no clue how hard it is for me to control my weight but supports me in anyway he can, I just need to ask for his help and asking for help is one of the hardest things for me to do. So I stayed on my food plan (literally I took it all day one meal at a time and really started to panic a little during the evening but made it through) and even fit in my workout. Yippee. I've been on plan today but days are easy, this evening is when the test occurs and my plan right now is to eat my cottage cheese just before I leave work and working out as soon as I get home (cardio this evening). Once I get the workout in then it seems to give me more control over the evening food. I am so fortunate, I have a bedroom dedicated to workout equipment and I love being able to go in there and close the door. Being able to close the door is a must or I have to lie on the floor and face dog breath. “Oh look, Mommy wants to play. Whatcha doing Mom, Mommy you ok? Can I help? Here, throw this Mommy, I’ll fetch it for you…” Have a good evening, |
Pat, great job on the pants. I've been thinking about pulling a pair of goal pants and using those as a measure of progress instead of the scale.

Just wanted to poke my head in and say I love these 2 threads, very inspiring! I love peeking in at the maintainers and stealing all their strategies for the future!
Congratulations, you guys are doing GREAT! |
