Shane - love the haircut! I have short-ish hair -- it comes about an inch below the bottom of my ears. I used to have waist-length hair and it was a major PITA! DH (BF at the time) would roll over on it all the time, it would get caught in stuff, and I had to wear a ponytail every day. Now that I cut it short, I discovered that I actually have curly hair as long as it doesn't get too long. At the current length, I just wash it, run a comb through it, scrunch it up and go. I love it!

Lily - I would comment on your pics, but I'm working from home and my web access is being routed through a really strict firewall, so instead of pictures I get a warning message from my company saying they belong to the "web media" category and are not allowed! I'll check from my home computer later though.

Weigh-in today was 140.6. Up from last week's 139.8, but down from two weeks ago so I'm still okay I suppose. The gain the past couple days was definitely TOM!

I got a call this morning confirming my appointment with my new doctor Tuesday. It was kind of weird because they said I should fast before the appointment, and I was like, "Is that in case the doctor wants to draw labs?" and they said she will definitely want labs. Kind of weird considering they don't know anything about me other than my name, address, SS#, and that I made an appointment and I'm a new patient. Maybe they always get the standard lab tests on new patients?

The fence contractor is coming at 10:00 this morning to talk about an estimate for our fence! Any last-minute suggestions on questions I should remember to ask? I feel kind of bad about it because it is absolutely freezing today and our yard is covered with snow, so I can't figure out where the sprinkler heads are or anything!

Hi everyone, I got those pic's last night from Shane and Lacy's myspace. I hadn't seen Shane in a while without his shirt. I'm guessing all his protein drinks and working out must be working very well. The tattoo on his arm is his Army unit, Combat Engineer. Funny thing is I'm trying to lose weight and he's trying to gain weight. He looks Huge in that pic, but it's all muscle. He's almost 6' and finally reached 155 lbs.

NightengaleShane, He's very good looking in the face too. I'll have Lacy post me a face pic of him today from her myspace. Now, if we could just find him a nice, single lady that doesn't have kids! He broke up with his GF again about a week ago cause she said she wasn't gonna be faithful if he wouldn't marry her before he deploys!

Also, Shane, you remind me a lot of Lacy. Your hair, your clothes, your adventurous side. She is definitely her own person. BTW, those are my PJ bottoms she is wearing with the little penguins on them (from Aeropostale). They are very comfy but I rarely get to wear them!

Lacy is home from school sick at her stomach again today. I have made another appt. with her Gastroenterologist and the soonest they could see her is Feb. 14th. I will most likely take her to our regular Dr. today.

Anne, LOL, I think baby Gunner wanted a Hi-Five too and that is why he stood up. I can't believe my DH even let Gunner crawl in the back of the little truck to start with! But, Gunner wasn't hurt, he just ran to Grandma Lily!

Gotta go, Molly is snorting and throwing a fit for me to take her for her morning walk! It's 20 degrees and I am dreading it. We're forecasted 70% chance of more Ice today.

Great photos and video Lily! Your grandsons are very cute. And I like Lacy's haircut.

Shane~I can't tell you the number of times I've gone from long (like down to my butt) to short and back again. I know the growing out process is a headache, but fortunately, my hairdresser is marvelous and she can make it look nice as it grows out (but that generally means a year or more to get it to the length I want it). Since I have this big thing in May and I want to look my best I don't know if I want to be in an in-between haircut then. Also, for my cruise in July I'm thinking short might be better.

I got my latest Mother-Daughter picture. This was taken in November. DD really liked it and asked me to frame it (I love it when she likes photos of herself). I've uploaded it here. And for comparison, I have last year's as well. It's the same photo as in my signature, but it's larger here. Heck, I decided to upload 6 years' worth (I think I was at my fattest in 2005):

Ugh, I'm tired today.:coffee: Dress rehearsal went well, but very late, last night, and to top it off I had to visit the mechanic first thing this morning b/c my rear brakes went from "maybe I hear something back there?" to "scaaary noise - the pads need to be replaced" in a 2 day period. Luckily my mechanic is very trustworthy, and nice. I may see how tired I feel after work and take today off as a rest day from exercise, since tonight is opening night of the play. I plan to go to the 3 performances of the play this weekend, and besides that, sleep!

Shane, I LOVE your new haircut! It is very flattering, edgy, and HOT!

Jessica, you didn't mention any of your thyroid problems when you called to set up the appointment, did you? I've never had blood tests immediately upon going to a new dr., but it doesn't sound too unusual to me. Hopefully this dr. will be more helpful than the last few!

Daaaamn, Lily. Your kids got some good genes :)

Pat, congrats on the victories at the dr's office.

Hooray, it's Friday. Does anyone have any fun plans for the weekend?

lilybelle 01-25-2008 10:37 AM

Allison, your pic's are great. I especially love the first pic of you and your DD. You both look beautiful. I need to get my hair cut shorter like that!

I'm back in from walking the dogs, thankfully they made it quick, it is sleeting.

Megan, sorry you gotta get new breaks. I had just put them on my Expedition before I traded it off.

I still hate that I can't post my Halloween pics cause I don't have a scanner!

baffled111 01-25-2008 10:41 AM

Morning everyone!

Love all the pics! Lily, nice muscles on Shane. :) What about some new pics of you?

Allison, I love the length of your hair in the 06 and 07 photos. It's a very flattering length for your face--much nicer than the longer hair. My hair about the same length (slightly longer than chin length) and I think it's the best length for me. Too long and it drives me nuts and when it's much shorter I don't think it's particularly flattering on me. But the mid-length is annoyingly high-maintenance. I'm supposed to flat iron my hair every day, but I've given it up. Too much hassle and it damages the hair too.

Jessica, the fast thing seems strange to me. Maybe call them back and double check?

Today is weigh in day and I haven't been tracking my food this week. I haven't been overeating though, so we'll see.

Happy Friday!

baffled, I'll see if I can drag up a new pic of me from Shane's Myspace. I think there is one of me singing karaoke with my son's friend.

Jessica , is your new Dr. a specialist? If so, Every time I see any type of specialist I can always count on lab work being drawn. Even on my very first visit!

Shane, here are facial pics of my son, Shane. As you can tell, these are before he got so Buff.

Megan, Baffled, and Lily - the doc is an internist and is (hopefully) going to be my new primary care doc. I didn't mention the thyroid because at the time I made the appointment I didn't know I had it yet! I am guessing maybe she does some standard tests for all new patients and because of the fast I'm guessing one of them is a cholesterol test. DH thinks it is a good sign that she will be very thorough. I'm planning to ask her to test my thyroid since I am due for a test to adjust my dosage anyway though, but I don't think you have to fast for thyroid tests. Cholesterol is the only standard one I know you have to fast for...

Allison - you are one hot mama!!

Megan - good thing you have a trustworthy mechanic! They sure are hard to find.

I think the meeting with the fence guy went well. The good news is that we have some good options for fencing, and I think their company seems reliable (plus about 90% of the fences in my neighborhood were done by them). The bad news is that the fence will cost about $6-7k. :( Maybe it would be cheaper for a 4 foot fence instead of a 5 foot fence but I feel like 4 feet is kind of low if we get a big dog. I guess I could call the guy up and ask him to price that one out for us too. I don't suppose you guys have any suggestions about whether we should get a steel fence or an aluminum fence? The steel is actually cheaper.

Good evening everyone. I'm not sure I'll be able to catch up with the thread, so I just wished to say hello before going back to my homework (let's hope I still have some energy left). Classes have started again and I was pretty down the whole week, but I'm giving myself repeated kicks-in-the-butt full of artificial motivation to make things get back on the right track. I'll post more later on, when I'm used to my new rhythm for the semester.

lilybelle 01-25-2008 03:14 PM

Jessica, since you want to get a dog, definitely spend the extra for the 5foot fence. DH built our fence 4foot high and my labs can easily jump it. Hence, why I have to walk them outside on a leash everytime for their potty breaks. It's a PITA in this freezing weather. That does sound pretty expensive though. You must have a very large area that you want fenced. I only fenced about 1/2 acre and we bought the supplies and DH did the work. It costed us total about $700.00.

I don't recall ever fasting for a thyroid test before, but I know you have to fast for a lipid panel. It is a good thing that your new doctor is being thorough.

Kery, hi and hope the semester starts falling into place easier for you soon.

Meg 01-25-2008 03:18 PM

Lily, late to the party, but thank you so much for the photos! I love putting faces to all the names and that Shane ... what a heartbreaker!! :faint: He's got some mighty fine muscles on him too!

So how about some current photos of YOU, young lady? :)

WaterRat 01-25-2008 04:14 PM

Hi - just running through here.

Lily and Allison - love all the pictures! That Shane - he's hot!

Jessica - I had to fast for having A1C levels checked as well as a lipid panel, but I wonder why, if they want them right away, they didn't have you do it early so they'd have the results. I always insist on that now. No sens having to do a second appt just to get the results. The internist I started seeing this past year always has you come in a week before your appt just to get blood work done. No office visit charge, just for the actual tests. Then she has them for the appt.

Our new kitten Simone is adapting very well. She spent a good deal of time in the living room and kitchen yesterday. I want her scent to be on things so the old cat gets used to it. The older cat, Comet, is scared of the kitten right now. Over the weekend, we'll all spend some time in the same room so they can get acquainted, and we can referee!

alinnell 01-25-2008 04:22 PM

Jessica~in 1999 we paid $32k for a 5 foot block wall....at least your quote is a lot less than that!

The site is awfully slow and some pages don't load at all.....I doubt I'll be back on today. If my hair turns out cute tomorrow, I'll post a picture.

goalsuccess 01-25-2008 11:01 PM

Alinnell,
I lost my weight doing LA Weight loss, so when I gain weight, I go back to my weight loss amount of foods to get it off. I also think that losing the weight might have been due to going back to work after being off for three weeks and figuring out, thanks to a personal trainer, that I don't have to have a high heart rate when I'm doing my cardio.
