I am happy, yet sad, to say the cherries have all been eaten.
They only come around once a year, and I'm thinking that it's getting a little late in the season for them now *convincing myself not to buy more*. I really like cherries.
Growing up, we had a cherry tree in the back yard. I have fond memories of the 4th of July--the date we picked cherries every year. One year, unknown to us, we got infested. Every cherry had a worm in it. There was some bug invading the state. We had to cut down the tree (it was suggested that if we tried to keep it, it could actually harm the trees that were growing cherries commercially).
