Hey - it's your BIRTHDAY. Even the very first year I was losing weight when I was so strict I wouldn't have a cheat meal or even a glass of wine I went out and had a gorgeous birthday dinner with ALL the treats. I know I have to be careful personally, because I often rationalize "special occasions" for a reason to eat offplan, but your own birthday is a TRUE special occasion and deserves celebration.

Also, your scale the day after a cheat meal will always be "artifically" up due to the salt, etc in restaurant food, just ignore it! It will go back down by itself in a couple of days. Like...Chipotle. I love the place, I get a very healthy option at Chipotle (rice, chicken, salsa, romaine, guac) - I ALWAYS weigh 2lbs more the next day, because the rice is SO salty!

You are on track and have a good plan!

Glory - Thank you for the encouragement!
I am going to take it one day at a time and not give up.

Glory - thanks for the specific directions. When we can back in town after Memorial Day, I'm going to try to follow it with your veggie combo.

Szn - You'll be back on track in no time... look at my goal below to see my little backslide. It wasn't pretty, but I've got a grip on things this week. It was a case of me losing several pounds, feeling pretty good (clothes fitting, etc.) and then giving myself lisence to eat... I just kept it up or 2 full weeks. Blah. I was so frustrated with myself, but we just have to shake it off and get back in swing of things. You can do it!!!!

I walked today for almost an hour. Calories were just about 1250, which is good for me. I weigh tomorrow, which will show my true damage.

Good luck gals..

Walking - my problem is there have been far too many 'special occasions' lately and I have not been too mindful limiting the calorie laden choices.

Just seem to have too many excuses to rationalize my wayward eating.
Yesterday....hmmm it's my birthday - so I will indulge in some greasy potato chips and a drink
Tonight there is a wedding to attend....yeesh!
I have also upped the exercise and sometimes I feel so virtuous to have worked hard - I justify those extra calories - but its not working for me - the scale climbs upwards.

New day - new resolve.

S - Happy Birthday!!!!

Yes, I loose a couple pounds and think, ok, I can splurge. Sometimes the splurge turns into more than one meal or treat... I know that's not good.

Not sure how to edit a post, and maybe this is a little anal, but in my previous post I meant

'lose' NOT 'loose' (as in not tight)!!!!! Hate when I do that!

Claire - any time you want to edit one of your own posts, click on the Edit button at the bottom right side of the post and you can change anything. I totally understand how you feel about 'lose' and 'loose'!!
