Default Maintainer Running For President!

Hey, one of us is running for President! Mike Huckabee, former governor of Arkansas, is running for the Republican nomination. He lost 110 pounds in 2003 and wrote a book called "Quit Digging Your Grave With a Knife and Fork." He's passionate about healthy weight habits, so it's fun to think about what we could lobby for ... Any ideas?

Here's a link to a 2004 profile of him from the Washington Post: The Governor Is A Happy Loser

Appendix II of his book was what he thought government should and should not do in terms of making it easier for people to make healthy choices, some ideas he supports (and implemented) and some he does not.

Huckabee is obviously a man of great personal character, and a hero of mine for turning his life around and being a terrific example of what a person can do when they put their mind to it. But please make sure you understand his stand on the issues (or any candidate's for that matter) before you vote. He does not tend to be a middle-of-the-road kind of guy on many of the divisive issues in the US today.

Arrow To Meg from Gingercakes

Hi Meg,

Sorry to bother you, but I have a problem.... (or two)

I PMed you days ago, before reading that I shouldn't PM the moderators, and should post to the forums instead (which I totally understand). I never heard back from you, BUT I have been posting away at so many different boards, you may have responded to me publicly, but if you did, I missed it.

I don't know how to keep track of boards after posting, is there a way to keep track of the boards you visit them? I would hate for someone to respond to me, and then I never respond back because I don't know how to go back and check! I feel like such a geek!

If you didn't answer my PM because you're totally busy, that's fine too... I just wanted to make sure that you don't think that I'm the rude one!

If you could please drop me a quick line and let me know, that would be awesome. If anyone else can tell me how to clean up my multi posting mess, I would appreciate that too. I jumped right in here, and now I think I need a life preserver! Help!

Gotta say, though, I jumped right in, but keeping up the good work! And I LOVE 3FC.

Ginger - I'll PM you about your questions, OK? I'm sorry I didn't get back to you sooner but I've been swamped. No need to apologize ... this place is big and overwhelming at first!
