We need ideas ladies & Gents
Ok
So me and my partner are looking for new ideas on things to do at the weekend,
After us both adopting a healthier lifestyle and giving up booze. So what once that used to fill our weekends up ( eating and drinking) weve come stuck on ideas on what to do.
Weve been to the cinema on occassions and even went bowling last weekend which was fun.
Only ive been racking my brains on what we can do this weekend that is fun, but also not gona break the bank. I thought about hiring bikes and goin on a bike ride but it not really the weather for it where we are and will probs do that next month when it gets warmer.
I wana hear some of your couple Activities , we need ideas. Sometimes you just get so focoused on food and drink your forget what stuff is out there to enjoy as well. Weve got to the stage that clubbing just doesnt do it for us

Have you guys thought about volunteering somewhere like a humane society aka animal shelter. Many time they need people to help socialization of animals and helping them get some exercise. Or a t a local hospital.
I know this is kind a lame but I love doing jigsaw puzzles keeps my mind and hands busy and with two people if won't take as long.

I am in your same boat! When you're used to being all about food or clubbing or having some drinks, it's tough to adjust. Some of the stuff we've done:
- Gone to museums and galleries
- Gone to the zoo (a little expensive, but SO worth the price)
- Gone on picnics (still food-adjacent, but we made it all about the Frisbee instead)
Stuff we haven't done, but will (or would do if we weren't a couple of old sticks in the mud):
- Taking dancing lessons
- Taking a class together
- Working on our house/spring cleaning
- Uprooting the garden and replanting

Those are awesome too, Astrophe, but they don't work for us. He beat me at Monopoly in November and I didn't speak to him for five hours after that game, and since then we haven't taken it out of the box.
Library trips and crafting sound fun--but those are things I generally do solo. Could be great to have company, though.

We joined a synagogue, but if organized religion isn't for you, maybe a meditation class or something? I second museums and we also go to a few plays a year.

Look through local event listings, put them all in a hat and just go to one! I've done this before and it's led us to a monster truck race, Symphony, art fair and other things.
Most of them I never would have thought of going to, but it's amazing how fun a spontaneous event can be. Really shows you that you can have a blast anywhere if you're in the right company.

Gardening, I love to plant herb gardens on my deck in containers. Flea Markets, Farmers Markets, Looking for Antiques or things. Working on your home, painting or making curtains. A movie.

We play Dominion (an absolutely fabulous card/board game), go for walks, movies (we have several $2 theaters near where we live, so very affordable), and we've also joined a couple MeetUp groups and go to those events. Granted, they often involve food, but because where we live is very much into the pot-luck culture, it's very easy to bring a dish that you know you can eat.
