Yes--he does mention in the book about eating the same thing every day for 1-2 meals (I think he said breakfast and lunch is easiest)--this goes against LAWL but I love it. I am a creature of habit and can easily eat the same breakfast and lunch (I almost already do). But I also admit how this can put you in a "rut". Hard to say. I will look it up later and post his "why". Something about the more variety and tastes we introduce at a meal the more apt we are to go overboard (ie: THANKSGIVING!!)--makes sense.

My DH ate oatmeal just about every morning while on LAWL and he still lost consistently.

Just got back from the COD and officially down 2 lbs!!! I know TOM is just around the corner so I would love to just maintain for next WI.
I eat about the same thing for breakfast and lunch every day with some slight modifications too. I will always have cereal and 8th continent light vanilla soy for breakfast and a salad with some kind of protein on it for lunch. I do switch out the cereal for different kinds as well as the protien choices but it is just easier for me to stay POP that way. That's interesting about the more flavors that you introduce the more likely you are to go overboard. I read about a particular type of diet in a fitness mag that talked about the same theory. I believe it was the Flavor Point Diet. |
I found the book at Barnes and Noble yesterday. I will start reading it tonight. Thanks for all of the info girls!

Hi ladies...........just wanted to give you the heads up if you are just starting the book. It is kind of heavy and frontloaded with a lot of biochemical techie sutff.......but it gets better and more enjoyable as you go on :)

Has anyone tried Dr. Oz's strength training workout? I am thinking I might try to start walking today.....he says you have to walk and be in a good habit before you start doing the strength training. Anyway, my mom and sis are comming here late Wed night for a long weekend........what do you think are the chances that I can get them to start working out with me on turkey day???? I think it would be good to do it with other people the first few times, so we can make sure we are all doing it right. I really do like his book.
Did any of you get to the part yet where he talks about using his book like it is your operating system, and any healthy plan you incorporate should be considered software. I thought that was such a cool concept. It is a good way to monitor whether or not a plan is healthy. If I find time later, I will try to find the quote about that. He states it much more eloquently that I do. I do love to write. Maybe someday I will write a book. |
I just started the book and am trying to catch up! You are right Nicole the first part is really techie but I am in to it!
Will post more later. |
Well, I finished the book last night..........I thought it was very insightful. It was interesting to me, while I didn't know all of the facts that he presented, it really isn't new information. I think it is just put in such a way that it makes sense, which makes it very valuable. I plan to adopt several of his ideas and incorporate them into LAWL. I mostly need to begin excersizing. What does everyone else think?
