Congrats on the loss Sasse! That is awesome! Under 200lbs is a HUGE milestone! I can not wait to be there myself.

The hockey game was great last night...we won! WOOHOO I didnt eat any of the munchies, but I did have 1.5 diet Pepsi. That is ok considering the damage I could have done. I was pretty proud of my willpower....there were bowls of munchies everywhere and I did not nibble once.

Do any of you ever buy Mrs Dash? I noticed there is a whole line of sodium free spice blends and I was wondering if anyone knew how they were for rubs on the chicken we seem to eat almost daily!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

marciew 09-30-2001 10:27 AM

YOU GUYS ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so excited for you guys! You are a bunch of losing fools!! Jibbelle, you have done too well....I am sure it is just fluid retention! Don't get down you are awesome!!!!!

Well I went in and interviewed for that job on Friday and all seemed to go well. The president said that they had to interview 2 other people but he felt confident enough in me that he went on ahead and sent me for a drug test and a physical Friday afternoon. So I guess that is great news! I am supposed to bring the paperwork back in on Monday. Maybe I will know something this week. Oh golly I hope so! I just so can't wait to be losing with you guys again. I am even at a point that I would be happy at 160 instead of 145 like I originally thought. Anyway..enough rambling for me...I just can't wait to get back on track!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!!! Can you believe that Oct 1. is tomorrow?? Where did the time go???

SasseMom 09-30-2001 11:11 AM

Sending Out "Job Vibes"

Marcie: I'm sending out "job vibes" for you!!! I think it's a GREAT sign that they went on to send you for the drug test and physical. That costs THEM money, and most company's won't waste it on someone they aren't planning on hiring!!! Let us know what happens!! We are ALL rooting for you!!!!! But don't give up on your goal! 145 is a doable goal, you may just need to refine your timeline, but that's okay, it's a journey. 145 is only 15 lbs lighter then 160, so if you can get to 160, 145 is just a hop, skip and jump away from there!!! I'm 18.5 pounds from the goal I set with LA......I've already lost 34, so I KNOW that 18.5 will come off! I'm 38.5 away from my "personal" goal of 160, just under half way there. If I've come this far, I KNOW I can make it the rest of the way. And YOU CAN TOO!!!! :dizzy:

Jibbelle: GREAT JOB AT THE HOCKEY GAME!!!!! It's so hard to say "no, thanks" when there is so much temptation around you.;) I know when I'm surrounded by so much temptation, I might just have a nibble of something that is SOOOO bad, just to get me through! You did AWESOME!!!!:p

Well, this is supposed to be my weekend off, but it's end of month inventory, so I have to go in this afternoon! :( I have TONS of laundry to do, so I better get busy if I'm going to get it done before I have to go count ciggarettes!! (what fun!) I keep repeating to myself...it's overtime, it's overtime! But that doesn't make me look forward to it anymore!!!

Hey Ladies,

Look at Sue! Sue, you have done so well! I know that you are feeling great to be under the 200 mark. Before you know it you will be at your LA goal. Congratulations! ... hottie...

I hope to be where you are at Christmas. I've got to get busy!

Jibbelle, I'm glad that your willpower was working and working OT while at the hockey game. You did good, real good! I'm proud of you. It isn't easy, especially when in a crowd & when having fun.

Marcie, I bet that you have landed this job! :smug: A drug test & a physical... you are most probably in the door! I sure hope that everything turns out for you! Keep us posted!

Diane, glad to hear that you got those scales moving again! Keep it up! (down :dizzy: !)

Well, I had a terrible scare last night... my son called a little after midnight.. said that he was taking his wife to the hospital... for me to come stay with my grandson. My daughter that lives here got up & went with me... 20 miles to their house... 45+ miles from their house to hospital...I asked when we got to their house if they wanted me to go w/them & leave Kan with Lee. No, we both stayed w/Lee. She had swelling in the back of her head/upper neck.. the er was packed.. my son called when they got their... she had began having difficulty breathing & they were both panicing... other emergencies in front of them... i had not taken time to quiz them before they left knowing that i knew little & felt like she needed medical attention asap. Anyhow, as it turns out while waiting at the er, she developed diarrhea.. this continued for awhile & as it did the swelling went down. After 3 hrs in the er, seeing no dr... she called to say that they were better & coming home... she needed a shower. I was somewhat relieved by the call, but praying that it was ok not to be seen... again, I didn't press forward with questions. When they arrived home... she filled in the blanks. Seems that it was an allergic reaction or possible food poisoning. She had baked some frozen deviled crab cakes (she's not allergic to crab... has always eaten that as well as the crab ease (artificial)), but she said that she only ate a portion of one of the cakes... said it just wasn't good... she had fixed something different for my son & grandson. (THANK GOODNESS, & THANK GOODNESS that she didn't eat it all). She told me that around 11-ish, she was watching tv... said that her legs were really itching... but she thought that it may have been something she had gotten into while playing football earlier that day... then she said that she thought something had bit her on her chest because it stung... she noticed then that she was broke out in hives.... she wasn't too alarmed until she went to pull her hair up to wash her face, when she discovered these large lumps in the back of her head... Anyhow, we are just so blessed that she is doing ok! I dug the box out of the garbage & put it in a ziploc bag... unsure as to whether it was a bad batch or some ingredient. Anyone of you have any clue?

Take care everyone!

I didn't go to bed until 5 AM... going to go help hubby with laundry & give my son & daughter-in-law a call to see how she is doing today.

Never knew that I would find so much comfort being around a bunch of loosers!

Thank each of you for being here! Have a wonderful day & a great week!

Nancy

Jibbelle 09-30-2001 01:15 PM

Marcie--
The jobs sounds oh-so-promising!! *still keeping fingers crossed*

Thanks to everyone for being so supportive...it never ceases to amaze me what a great bunch we have here!!! Tomorrow is weighin so maybe I will have some good news to report to everyone!

Nancy-
I am glad to hear that your daughter-in-law is doing ok. My grandmother had a similar reaction once to some seafood dip. She ended up at the hospital also...but I cant remember what exactly happened. She got better pretty quickly though. I dont think they ever figured out exactly what caused the reaction, but she has never had the same problem again.

I too am doing laundry...so I better get the next load in.

Take care all!

marciew 09-30-2001 02:12 PM

Oh Nancy, i am so glad that your daughter in law is okay! I would definatly call the company and see if they have had any other complaints....although I don't know if they would tell you or not. I hope she is feeling better today!

I have talked my husband into going for a walk in the park. I gotta start getting some exercise! That's forsure! I feel so much better after I do!

I appreciate all of your words of encouragment and your right Sue...I could get to 145. I shouldn't short change myself.

Talk to you guys later...oh and good luck to all of you that weigh in tomorrow!

Jibbelle 10-01-2001 08:11 AM

Good morning everyone! I just thought I would say hi and wish everyone a great on plan week! I have weigh in this afternoon...so I will let you know how it turns out!

Take care--

SasseMom 10-01-2001 09:34 AM

Confession!

I cheated this weekend. I had some chocolate ice cream.....I have weigh in this morning, and I'm really nervous. I'd hate to see that scale go back over the two hundred mark! I knew I shouldn't have had it, now I know I'm going to pay for it. To top it off, I'm wearing jeans. I've got to go to work right afterwards, and it's too cold for shorts, and my knit pants are dirty. UGH!!!!! No more of that, the temporary "good" feeling, has turned into agonizing guilt and worry. I'll let you know how I do.

Nancy, I'm glad to hear your dil is doing better. I can imagine your scare!!!!!!

Good Luck everyone, let's stay on plan!!!!!

Jibbelle 10-01-2001 09:50 AM

Nancy-

We all cheat on occassion...and it is amazing how guilty it makes us feel. I guess that will keep us on track! Good luck at weigh in...I am sure you will not be over the 200lb mark...unless you ate a pound and a half of ice cream!

Someone here once said that nothing tastes as good as thin feels! That is something we should all remember when we want to cheat. It helps me...sometimes anyway!:dizzy:

dietingrme 10-01-2001 10:58 AM

 Jibbelle, I cheated... how did you know?I did a :nono:
but, not with ice cream, although that does sound wonderful... it was a stressful weekend... i did not eat OP yesterday... don't think that i did too much damamge... with everything so hetic, i may not weigh-in until Wed. didn't get to bet until 4:30 AM again... this time, I was working on wedding plans for a friend & my hs reunion... yawn.

I would simply be overjoyed if I were under 200, but, I will be doing good to be there at Christmas (I'm hoping). I'm around 221 3/4 (hopefully, not over... last weigh-in, Friday, 28th)

I think that Sue had the ice cream. :s:

Sue, try not to beat yourself up over fudging. Everyone is entitled to have something on occassion. Only we don't need to let the occassions rule everyday. Keep in mind that on the red & the purple plans, 1/2 cup of fat & sugar free ice cream (or frozen yogurt) is allowed once per week... just not on the same day as beef or limited starches.

Ya'll have a wonderful day! and thanks for keeping me :D and  and :) .

I hope that each of you are able to stay OP today... maybe those sneaky devils will leave us alone.

:) & be happy!

& keep those fingers crossed for Marcie!

GREAT NEWS!!

Well ladies...I am finally employed! I start tomorrow! I can't believe we are finally going to be okay again! I can't wait to get back on plan. I am going to go walking here in a little bit. I feel so alive again! YIPEE!! Well as soon as we get caught back up with the bills I will be right back on plan. Well just wanted to let you know!! I hope everyone had good weigh ins today!

Thanks again for all of your words of encouragement! And all of the crossed fingers!

Jibbelle 10-01-2001 05:40 PM

Nancy--

Sorry about the mix up! :dizzy: I guess I was a bit confused!!!

MarcieW-

Congrats on the job!!! I am glad we can finally uncross our fingers...they were getting a bit cramped! Keep us posted on how you like it.

Well...I think my 2 lb gain from Saturday was a fluke. When I weighed in this afternoon I was at 269.5. I think when they weighed me on Saturday at 272 they were wrong. My goal was to be under 270 by then end of Sept, so I guess I did it. ;) WOOHOOO

How is everyone else doing?

dianem1 10-01-2001 07:12 PM

Hi everyone:
Goodluck tomarrow Marcie. And Good luck getting back on program. You can do it .
Congrats on your weight loss Jibbelle, I had a good weigh in also.
I don't know if you have tried any of the soups but today I got the chicken with vegetables it was not to bad, but I think I prefer something that can be sipped I like drinking soup out of a cup for me it had to much little bits in it.
Marcie do you have to restart or are you just going on from where you are?
Have a great week.

Diane-

You are getting close to goal!!!!

I have not tried the creamy chicken soup yet, but I was thinking maybe I could use it as a sauce for chicken and pasta or chicken and rice that I bake in the oven as a meal. Do you think that may work?

I usually get the chocolate shakes or chocolate crunch bars. I would miss my chocolate fix by eating the soup.

dietingrme 10-01-2001 07:52 PM

Marcie, I know that you are so happy! I am happy for you and I hope that you really enjoy your new job. Hopefully, you will soon be able to start LA again.

As Jibelle said, our fingers were getting a bit cramped... but, you were worth it. I am so proud of you. I don't know how you surrived all the interviews! Go girl, you did GREAT! :)

Jibbelle, there was no problem with the mix-up. It just made me  ! I was relieved to know that young girls sometimes get a little bumfuzzled too! I am so scattered. It was kinda like... ok, she caught me... but, uh, ice cream... oh, i wish that i had some right now... going to have to buy some diet sugar free...

I did another no,no... I got to do better! I just can't seem to behave when everything gets so crazed... but, it's no one to blame but me.

Jibbelle, I am proud of you! I know that you are elated to have met your mini goal. That's WONDERFUL! :)

Diane, I haven't tried the soups yet... I keep asking them at the center... they don't have any... said that folks didn't want it in the other seasons... they didn't count my vote... i like it all yr.

I tried the choc crunch bars... they are NOT bad... but, I like the shakes and the honey nougat bars the best... the choc bars are a little chewy for me... but, while I have always loved choc... I'm not craving it as much as I am other foods... weird!

had some popcorn today... microwave... know that it was too high in sodium... oh well, tomorrow... i hope to have more control. I've got to get back into this & quit being bad!

I hope that everyone has a nice evening & a great week!

Sue, be good! Me & you need to stand in the corner.

dianem1 10-01-2001 08:23 PM

Hi Jibbelle:
Your right I am getting closer I feel so anxious sometimes
like maybe this time I will actually make it, I try to stay patient with myself and don't tempt myself, sometimes I can be my own worst enemy. Now I am getting aren't you done yet you look fine, you don't need to loss anymore, i just remember the goal I want to reach and keep going. Even when I slip up I don't let myself forget how far I have come and where I was.
I think with the soup you can use it as sauce I even think it the cook book it does use it but I might be thinking of the old cookbook.
Nancy the center I go to offers the soup all year around, I like it once in a while especially on cool days. i like the crunch bars to and the nougat, I agree with you about the chocolate, it take me longer to eat up that box.
Diane

Hey Jibbelle maybe if I am patient enough maybe I will reach that Christmas goal.

I KNEW you had this job Marcie!!! I'm so happy for you!!! I'm grinning ear to ear!:D Let us know how you like it! I'm so excited for you, I had to tell Erik!!! LOL, ya'll becoming like family!!!

Jibbelle GREAT JOB on the loss!!!! Way to go!!!!!

While I'm standing in the corner with Nancy, I'll share the good news: I maintained!!!! Whoooo Hooooo!!! I felt for sure that I would go up...I refused to look at the scale!!!! Just waited for them to give me the bad news!! She said, You maintained! I was never so happy to see the numbers stay the same!! But I don't think ice cream will tempt me again, I want those numbers to GO DOWN!!!! And I'm only 18.5 pounds away from the goal I set with LA, and I'm getting anxious to get there. And Jibbelle, you are right, nothing tastes as good as thin feels. And I want to find that out! :^: I know how good it feels to be 34 pounds smaller then I was, I just can't wait to get to goal!!!! dianem1 10-02-2001 07:07 PM

Hi everyone:
I had a good day felt a little hungry though.
Jibbelle I did not wear jeans either, The first time I wore them was about a month ago, the first thing my sister said is your are wearing real pants. They were so uncomfortable I could not wait to get home and take them off, now its not bad but those first couple of times I did not wear them the whole day.

Quiet day in here today...some of us must be up to no good!

Take care all!

dietingrme 10-03-2001 03:15 PM

Jibbelle,

Don't buy lots of new jeans... you are going to need smaller ones in December. Hooray!!!!!!!

Same for you Diane... GOOD WORK!

Hey, Sue, I'm in the corner again! But, I hope to be out after today.

Marcie, how's work going?

When was Lorrie's surgery?

Things are a little quiet on the board... talk it up girlfriends!

Nancy

Jibbelle 10-03-2001 05:08 PM

Dont worry Nancy...I only bought one pair and that was because my others are all falling apart!! I wear them to work every day and I go thru them so quickly. The new ones are just a little big snug so they should last till xmas.

I was going to stop by the center today but I forgot to take my journal with me this morning. I didnt feel like going back out in traffic once I came home. I went to the center on Monday and I will go Saturday so that will have to do. If I make it twice a week I think I am doing pretty well.

I am just finishing up my after school snack...a chocolate shake...oh so yummy! Trying to figure out what to make for dinner...no idea! Maybe a good night for fish.

marciew 10-03-2001 06:39 PM

Hey guys!!

Well it has been a very busy past few days! Work is great it is so nice to be there! It is tough but I am gonna love it! Sounds like you guys have been doing awesome! I am gonna try and just start off where I left off. I am paid up for a while....we just have to get our bills caught up first. It is time to focus on getting rid of this awful weight! I promised myself that I would do TAE BO for at least 3 times a week. At least I never quit drinking my water! I have still drank at least 64 oz. a day! Anyway....Keep upi the good work all of you and thanks so much for the kind words of support y'all lent out when I needed it the most!

Another quiet day in LAWL land. I hope everyone is being good!

I have had a pretty good day. I have class tonight so I will be eating an early dinner. Always have a lean pocket and salad on Thursday nights.

Any weigh ins today??

dianem1 10-04-2001 05:06 PM

Hi everyone:
Feeling tired today glad it is near the end of the week. I started watching my 3 month old niece this week, I also watched my nephew berfore my sister had her baby, so I had a lite summer. Today I am realing feeling it, stupid me said to her husband you give me more money and I will also drive them home like I did not have enough to do. I am washed out I am glad my sister only works for days.
Well I weighed in today up again 3/4 of a pound, No Cheating either, I guess I just have to be patient and I thought I was out of that up and down stuff.
So how is everyone else's week so far, I am going back on Saturday I hope I have a good weigh in then.

Well ladies, I felt like  My :nono: made me say  and :( when I stepped on the scales today.

I was up 2-1/2 lbs. I will just have to do better. I had to see the toughest counselor... but, she wasn't too rough on me... I told her that I would try to do better...

I haven't been getting my walks in this week & I hope that I can get back into that habit.

She told me that stress can add weight, even if you don't cheat. But, in all honesty.. I cheated... I wrote it in my diary, I cheated myself.... so, I've got to get back on track if I'm going to reach my goal.

Diane, your gain could have been your clothing. Don't sweat it too bad... just sweat it off tending to the baby.

I was shocked at my center today... I had to wait awhile... I was patient, but another client was griping out loud... I watched as they called her name... she was holding a change of clothes... would you believe that she weighed wearing some light clothing... thin cotton shirt & shorts... when she came out... she had changed to denim shorts & a different shirt. I didn't comment... but, I thought yeah, lighter clothing. Now, unless, she wears the same outfit for each & every weigh-in... I thought it just a tad strange :dizzy: , since it wasn't a work uniform or something... Oh well... it takes all kinds to make the world go round.... but, then she may be ahead of the game if she is wearing the same for each weigh-in.

Have a GREAT OP weekend all. TGIF, almost.

Nancy

dianem1 10-05-2001 11:44 AM

Nancy:
When I used to go to WW in the middle of the winter there would be women coming in shorts. I thought I was bad with the scale I won't wear jeans or jewerly I try to wear the lightest clothes I have.
I think sometimes we have to cheat, we put more stress on ourselves when we are trying to fight it. I usually get over it and move on. I just can't let myself get back to old habits though.
I glad it is Friday also. I Weigh tomarrow though.
Diane

Jibbelle 10-06-2001 11:08 AM

I am so angry!!! I went to the center this morning and they were not open. I went to kmart...went back...still not open...went to Petsmart...went back still not open!!! An hour and a half after they were supposed to open still no one there. Now.....over 2 hours later I called...still no one.

I am going on a 10 day business trip...flight leaves at 7:00 Monday morning...I have no bars and no supplements. ARGH!!!!

What a crock. This program is expensive and I expect better service.

Okay...I feel better now. :) How is everyone elses weekends going???

marciew 10-06-2001 11:49 AM

Oh Jibbelle, I am so sorry! You have every right to be upset! I would continue to call throughout the day! You are right..we pay to much money for this program for them to not follow through on their end of the bargain! I hope they open today! Maybe someone had an emergency or something. Let us know what happens!

We are headed to the Auburn game around 1:30. My husband's friends are coming in for the weekend!

I am starting back on plan on Monday. I am gonna do the Jet Start Mon. and Tues. I am gonna go weigh in on Mon. and then again on Wed. and Friday! I am so excited to get back on plan. I am now back at the weight I was when I first started LA...maybe even a little more. I weighed 195 on my scale and it is usually a little lighter then theirs. So I truly am starting over...but that is okay. I can and will do this! My goal is 25 pounds by Christmas!

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

Marcie:)

dianem1 10-06-2001 12:36 PM

Hi everyone:
Jibbelle that happened at our center once, the person working there got mad and quit and the center was closed until they had someone come in from another center.
My center was open I had a good weigh in total for the week was 1 3/4 pounds. I had my measurements done, since April 10 2001 I have lost 23.25 inches all together. It kind of made my day.
I was wondering if anyone uses the frozen dinners I have not yet and I was thinking of trying the pizza just in the mood I guess for something different. I am hoping that I don't feel hungry later on.
Good luck Marcy starting up again exciting isn't it.
Have a great weekend

Jibbelle 10-06-2001 01:30 PM

I just drove 1.5 hours round trip to another center. They gave me bars and supplements and said they would call my center and have me put on hold for the 11 days while I was out of town. That way I would not have to pay for those two weeks. That is good.

On their scales I weighed 267.5!! That is down 2 lbs!! I hope it is real. I am recording it as real. I will not weigh in again until Oct 18 when I get back from Augusta, GA. Hopefully I can maintain or lose while I am gone.

As for frozen meals...I eat one or two a week. I have a lean pocket every Thursday night before I go to class...quick dinner with a salad. I have also eaten several of the Healthy Choice dinners. They have French Bread Pizza that is ok. It is much better if you add more shredded cheese to it (dairy for the day) before you cook it. Healthy choice also has one called Chicken Sonoma that is good. My favorite healthy choice so far is Chicken and Pasta. It is a chicken breast with a side of pasta, peas, carrots with a semi-spicy creamy sauce. I like that one a lot.

Marcie--I am so glad to hear you are back on the plan!!! I am sure you can reach that Xmas goal. I have 17.5 to lose to make my goal!! We can do it!

Need to find something for lunch.

Have a great weekend all!

Hi Jibbelle:
Have a safe trip. We'll miss you while you are gone.

Jibbelle 10-06-2001 03:40 PM

I just took a nap...it felt great! I feel very lazy this afternoon and I have a million things to do before I leave. Maybe my afternoon shake will kick me into high gear!

I am taking my laptop with me...so I will be able to check the boards while I am away. I need you gals to keep me in line!!! It will be really strange not to weigh for so long. The hotel I am staying at has a little work out room, so they may have a scale in there. I hope so.

Hello everyone....

How is everyone?? Seems like you all are a Happy Group... I wanted to ask you all about the LA Weight loss program, due to me hearing very little about it and I have an appt. on Monday... I wanted to know what exactly is it all about- I tried going on the website and couldn't find much info on it... I was wondering what the cost would be?? The lady tried to explain it to me on the phone and she SOOO confused me... I was recently on WW and got bored with itafter a year - lost the motivation because it was the same program... Hope you can help....

Thanks SO much!!! :D

Jibbelle 10-06-2001 05:08 PM

Hello Merri...and welcome to our LAWL family!

I think the food you will get on this program will be similar to that on weight watchers. They do no do food choices by points, but rather by servings. There are several different meal plans, and different people start out on different ones. I am on the Red plan and I can email a copy of it to you if you are curious. The cost for the plan really isnt that much...I think it was about $300 for a year when I joined. Where it gets expensive is the supplements (vitamins) and bars/shakes/snacks they sell you. I am not sure how many people here do the supplements, but I think if you do them all they cost close to $200 a month. Some people use none of these...others use all 6 or 7. The bars/shakes/snacks can cost anywhere from $10-14 a box depending on how many you buy at once. There are 7 in a box and they recommend you eat 2 a day. So...that is where they are making their money...not on the plan costs. I know it may sound expensive, but for me I can see results and it is worth it!!!

Everyone concur with what I said??

I have also noticed lately that you can get good deals on bars and shakes on Ebay. I am a little scared to buy food from someone over the internet though. I did buy an older copy of the LAWL cookbook for $5! It has a lot more recipes than the new one. Everyone should take a look there if you are in the market for a cheap LAWL cookbook.

Recipe for everyone:
Apple Fritter (1 starch, 1 fruit, 1/2 protein)

1 slice light bread
1 small apple diced
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 egg
1 tsp equal

Mix all ingredients and pour onto a nonstick griddle. Cook on one side until brown. Turn over and brown the other side.

Since apples are in season, I thought this may be a good breakfast treat!

Have a great day all!

Jibelle;

Thanks for the info... I think I'll see how my meeting goes on Monday - I think I need a little more one-on-one attention which I haven't gotten from WW lately... But kind of nervous on the cost :?: ... You seem have been doing an amazing job so far.

Thanks again!

Merri

Merri--

I agree that the one on one is very important...especially in the beginning. The counselors can be very supportive. I hope that you like what hear on Monday. Let us know how it goes and if you decide to do it.

If you dont mind me asking...how much do you want to lose?
