Default TO question for tomorrow

Cassi: This is a question for you. For tomorrow........

Do I mix 16 ounces of water with the Knudsen's juice, or is it 6 ounces.

Also, I have never tried beneful. Do I have to use it?

Thanks,

Debbie

Debbie,
I don't think Cassi is here today because of Yom Kippur. But I know the answer. She uses 2 bottles of TO so one bottle each day. She mixes 6 oz of water with 16 oz of juice. The beneful is added as the juice needs more fibre to match the TO juce at LAWL. I would say either do the fibre in the juice or take addition fibre pills. You don't want to run into the big C problem!

Hi guys! I'm checking in!

Actually, I use 26 oz of juice and 6 oz of water. This gives you the 32 oz that you would get using COD juice. I add 8 teaspoons of Benefiber to keep me fuller. The COD juice has "fruit fiber" in it and it works out to 12 grams of fiber per day. That's why I add the Benefiber. I don't thinkg the other girls who turned me on to the Knudsen's use the Benefiber, that's just something I came up with to make it closer to COD's juice.

FYI... DH doesn't like the juice from COD or Knudsen's, so he uses Celebrity Juice Diet because they have a berry flavored one. But it's $18. This works fine for me and it's cheap!

Glad to know I have company tomorrow!

Red face

Thanks, Ladies. I am so nervous about tomorrow. Last year when I quit the program it was after a failed TO attempt. I was ravenous, feeling dizzy etc. and just threw in the towel. I went out tonight and bought everything I need for the next two day and feel better about this TO because I know you are out there with me. Thanks for helping!

Reddeb - The second time I did TO I got sick on the afternoon/evening of the second day. I figured out that was because I didn't pace my food and juice right. Whether you have 2oz 3x/day or 3oz 2x/day, fit a bar in and drink your juice at regular intervals. Don't save it all for the evening because you think you will be hungry then. That's why I sip my juice throughout the day instead of 8oz at once 4x/day. The little sips along with the water all day long keep me hydrated and feeling full.

Good luck, and we're all in this together!

Default Tried

I tried it, did only 1 day ,that was enough for me. Felt to woosy and cranky to do it another day. May be 1 is enough, maybe I will try it tomorrow, too. Don't understand why it does not get you into the starvation mode. They say if we don't eat all our meals we would not loose weght.

Good point. For some reason they say this shocks your system a bit. I know this, I was salivating over the thought of eating an apple today after 2 days of TO and it did kill my cravings for sweets.

I track my meals on Fitday, and I usually have between 1300-1400 calories per day. When I do TO, I have about 980. If you think about it, you are only missing a dairy, 2 starches and a protein. The reason you don't go into starvation mode is because it is only two days. If you miss a fruit, or a dairy, or something else for one day, it doesn't matter. But the COD doesn't want you to think that the amount of food given is optional. Regularly missing foods that are on your plan will put your body into starvation mode.

I was wondering how much is the TO juice at the COD? I got my first one from the COD when I started, so I don't know the regular price.

$25. But sometimes they run a special at $20. That's my COD, anyway.

Hi all -

I posted another thread today on "The best way to do a 2 day takeoff" - it is from a print out that I got at my LAWL center. You might want to search and check it out.

I also posted substitutions for the expensive LAWL juice and bars - namely the Knudsen's juice and LUNA bars. The LUNA bars are comparable to the LAWL bars one for one. But the Knudsen's juice needs to be "doctored up" a bit to closer match the LAWL juice.

bizlawchik - You made a good point about the LAWL juice containing "fruit fiber." Does fruit fiber not show up in the nutrition info because the LAWL juice indicates no fiber? I added Fiber-sure anyway to give my Knudsen's a fiber boost.

Recipe to recreate LAWL juice:
25 oz. Knudsen's Simply Nutritious Morning Blend juice
7 oz. water
4 heaping tsp. Fiber-sure (adds about 5g fiber per 8 oz. of juice)

This makes 32 oz. of juice which is enough for one day of TakeOFF. You need to double this to make enough for a 2 day TakeOFF.

Does 5 grams of fiber per serving (or 20 grams of fiber per day) sound about comparable to the LAWL juice? I was considering leaving out the Fiber-sure since the LUNA bars contain 4 grams of fiber per bar, but I guess that's only 8 grams of fiber per day.

Thanks for your help! And wish me luck on my TO today and tomorrow - so far so good!

Marsha

Question Opinion needed

Cassi - You mentioned the Celebrity Juice, I was wondering does your DH follow the TO plan with the foods recommended? Or does he follow the instructions on the bottle and on their website, of juice only - no foods?

I can't find the Knudsen's Juice in my area. But did find the Celebrity Juice in Walgreen like someone said in one of the post somewhere. I've been stuck on this 176-177, two bad weekends back to back with a conference for work in the middle. I'd like to "back on the program" and fast!!

What you think I should do? TO like my plan suggest, only using Celebrity Juice instead?

I value your opinion, you know so much! Thanks for your time

DH has used the celebrity juice with the TO foods - He's not on LAWL so he just does unlimited. He drinks that juice because he only likes the berry. But it's only $1 or so less than the COD juice, so if it's not on sale, you might as well use the LAWL juice.

But the calories are the same, and the Celebrity Juice had some supplements the COD juice didn't. I would think that you'd be ok, but I am no expert. But again, with the price, it may not matter.

I'm doing TO again on Sunday and Monday if you want to join me.

Cassi - Thanks for answering so fast. I was planning on doing this on Thursday & Friday. Wednesday is DH birthday, and he wants to go to O'Charleys. And it's my fav restaurant, they have awesome rolls!! It will be exteremly hard to keep my paws off of them... Since we don't have O'Charley in my town, this is really a treat! So to face reality (the WI ) on Friday after work, I thought doing this on Thursday & Friday would be best. But, right now, I'm still on planning stage. The future is yet to come...

Thanks again, and have a POP day!
