Canned baked beans

  • We aren't supposed to eat anything canned, right? Like veggie or baked beans? Even if they are low sodium?
  • No...even canned "low sodium" things are too high in sodium, I believe...ask your center if they agree.
  • Just say no
Canned baked beans are chock full of sugar....watch out!
  • start to look at sodium in all of the items you buy and you will begin to see how the sodium differs in things that are supposed to be "low-sodium"
When something is originally full of sodium (like ham) low sodium often means lower than what it is normally. I bough low sodium ham once that was still 600 mg of sodium for 3 of those thin slices, so be careful.

I have bene given the ojk to have no salt added canned veggies (I eat no salt added green beans often and add morton's salt to them when cooking)
  • My COD said that canned veggies, even low sodium, may slow your weight loss because they are so processed that it is no challenge for your body to metabolize them.
