Not bitter at all...I am an ebay powerseller actually, so thats an ironic comment. This is a VERY supporting board. Like everyone else said, the centers do work with you and there is no substitute, IN MY OPINION, for the real thing.

Just another thought - you don't have to stay at the center you sign up at - - check another center, see if it's cheaper, and then transfer to the one closer to your work? You are supposed to be able to WI at any center in the US.

I'm pretty sure Shennie changed her center.

yeah, i did change my centers and it was pretty easy...just said i want to come here now and they did all the work.

In reference to us being bitter for peopl who got plans off of e-bay. I don't feel that way and i am pretty sure Deets doesn't either, but when someone comes onto the board, i think we try to give them the best advice possible and for us the best advice is to use the centers. There are numerous things that will relate directly to yu that you will need assitance on and we all support each other here, whether you go to the center of not (in fact, Mary doesn’t go to the centers and she is wonderful support to others and receives wonderful support in return). However, there are certain things that I don’t feel we are able to give concrete advice on here that could be gotten at a center.
Also for people who have tried other diets, this becomes just that-another diet, if you don’t have the commitment put into it (by having to go to a center and having someone in “real life” to be held accountable too.)

I love the chicks on here and I have developed enough of a relationship with them that I feel as if I couldn’t just leave them, but that took time.
$3 a week is a wonderful deal and I truly believe that someone who wanted to use the center could go in and get a deal for their WL weeks and Stabilization and not come out of an abundance of $.
The program does change from time o time and going to the center you know you have the most up-to-date information. For example, things like the take-off juice recipe are not in the current plan.
Please do what works best for you and your family, you do not want to hate anything you are trying to make a commitment too or feel like you are being taken advantage of. But I have to step in there for deets, and say that she is one of the sweetest chicks on here and she is giving advice as someone who is practically at her goal, so her advice would weigh very highly in my book.

Please come on over to the monthly thread, both of you, and get all of the support, advice and anything else you need, whatever your decision is.

I have to agree with Deets...LAWL is the ONLY program that has ever worked for me. I did it before my baby was born and now I'm trying to lose the baby weight. I don't think that deets was trying to insult anyone by saying that we give "free" advice here...we are definitely here to support each other no matter how you get the program info. But, I could have done the program from what I learned the first time, but I NEED the accountability by weighing in at the center and talking to the counselors...and that is where the benefits far outweigh the cost (for me). Personally, if I would do this program on my own, I would fail. It just doesn't hurt to talk to a center and see what they have to say and then make a decision based on your needs. That's my 2 cents...

I didn't mean to get an argument started here, I was just trying to get some information about the plan and see if anyone was doing it on their own. The money would not be so bad it you could pay it over time but I don't have that much money up front. I can not magically make the money appear, it just isn't there. I am not giving up I know lots of people that have lost weight on different plans this is not my only option I was just wanting to try something different than what I have been doing in the past. My 6-month old son will have a healthy mother. He is my life and I am going to do whatever I can to make sure I am healthy for him. Also on the website I went to (www.lafreetolive.com) there is no promotion for $3/week. You have to enter a zip code first so maybe it is only available in some areas.

Hi All. FG79 - You CAN pay the money over time, that's what I did! I went in when the weeks were $3, refused any supplements (other than lites) and flat out told them that I could not afford the full program cost upfront (I have 2 sons too). I have gotten tired of going to the center, and figured that I could go it on my own, but I have found that for all the problems I have with the center, I do better when I go than when I don't go. At $3 per week, its a steal, and worth looking into. I think the person you talked to on the phone probably did not want to go into particulars over the phone, because there is so much information that they go over with you during the consultation, including payment options. Remember, the consultation is free - it only costs a bit of your time in person which is a small investment to make.

brittyboo07 12-14-2005 10:44 AM

Just an FYI it doesnt matter which site you go to you will still get the same promotion and it is done by areas. In my area right now its 6 weeks free. I would be interested to know if the person you spoke with was the manager or not. You might want to call back and speak with the manager they do offer financing. I could not have afforded to pay mine up front either but i have finanaced mine and its 90 days same as cash so whatever you can get paid off wont have a finance charge on it. Usually the manager will try and work with you all they can. Give it your best shot to go through the center and if in the end you cant afford it then try it on your own. It can't hurt right. Good luck and let us know what you decide also like others have said there are some here that are doing this on their own we are all here for the same reason to become healthier, lose weight, exercise (right star), and support each other since we are going through the same thing! I look forward to hearing from you again and seeing you over on the regular monthly board.

Britt

Thanks everyone for the information. I called back and the price is still $5/week. I don't think I am going to try this plan right now.

brittyboo07 12-14-2005 11:03 AM

GL with whatever plan you decide on.

Star 12-14-2005 11:41 AM

I was just giving my chicks a hard time....no offense met fatgirl....

juliemarie 12-14-2005 11:43 AM

I need to buy more weeks and I have gone to the website-but there are no internet promotions for my zip code apparently. So just beware that this $3/week isn't for every center.
