i was just on Red up until yesterday and now i am on purple cause i was going nowhere on red.

deetsmom 11-04-2005 05:57 PM

Wrigley, is purple less food than red?

Sallydallydo 11-04-2005 06:48 PM

Gold.

What exactly are the differences between the plans?

jlynn1 11-04-2005 07:00 PM

Just started. On purple I guess by the color of my booklets.

TSheler 11-04-2005 07:46 PM

Hi ya'll!

I was on purple, went in for my success visit and told them I did not want to buy the lites, so they switched me to red w/ no lites.

Welcome to the other newbies! I'm on red according to the center. But, in my mind, I'm doing the blue with lites. The red plan was because I'm nursing and workout. BUT, when I try to follow the plan exactly my belly hurts, because of too much food. I'm missing vegetables like crazy anyway, and I can't eat the whole 8oz chicken they call for on this plan. I've lost 5 lbs on my trial week on blue(on my own), and 4 lbs this week with the center. Sorry, so long, but wanted to explain my differences, and reasons for why I'm on these plans, just in case new lurkers have questions.

Tiffany,
I have a 10 week goal with them also. I started with wanting to see if I can lose 20lbs and actually look alright. I may do more if my body needs it. Oh, and I don't know if you are new, if so, welcome!

deetsmom 11-05-2005 08:08 AM

How much do you work out, slimdreams?

Tee625 11-05-2005 10:24 AM

I just started LAWL last week and I am on the Gold plan with lites. I'm starting to feel like I'm starving, I don't think I'm eating enough food. I'm also a little upset that I wasn't told upfront that the LA lites cost more than the actual plan itself. I was told that I would need to pay an additional $786.00 up front for the LA lites. That seems crazy to me.

glasgow314 11-05-2005 11:22 AM

The LA lites are crazy. They told me that I would lose less wieght if I didn't eat them but I have only been doing the plan for 5 weeks and have already lost 17lbs and I don't always eat the lites. I already bought LA lites in bulk because they made it sound like you had too. When I run out I will not buy them again.

Sallydallydo 11-05-2005 12:41 PM

I'm on gold, but I am having a hard time fitting in all the food. I've never been a big eater. I was surprised at being offered the lites up front like that, but with the discount, they ended up being the same price as Luna bars are around here. It was more sticker shock because of the bulk price. I bought enough to get me through weight loss. I have to admit, there are a few times I would have loved to have had a hershey bar but grabbed a lite bar instead for the craving. TOM is really, really, really bad chocolate-wise for me! Speaking of, I'm up a full lb because of that, but still not as bloated as usual. I am praying next week for a big drop on the scale. I tried the lemon water they suggested, nasty, but they said drink a little more coffee and see if that helps. I am ALL about coffee! ;)

Bobby18 11-05-2005 12:53 PM

I am on the Gold plan as well. During my initial consultation I indicated I didn't want to do any of the bars, etc. on a regular basis. It looks like the plan I have includes them - hopefully they will switch it on Tues. when I go to my personal success session.

shennie_97 11-05-2005 02:06 PM

Hi Tee, I am on gold also and I know it takes a while to get used to the plan. Are you spreading out you meals throughout the day, that helsp me alot. With gold and anyhting lower, you don't have a whole lot of wervings to work with, so little meals are the key to stay full. Plus give your body a little time to get used to you new way of eating, if you need some help with menu planning, check out the journal thread. I keep saying I am goign to post there more, but I always forget, but there are lots of ideas there. What your starting weight and goal weight?
I too was suckered intot he you have to buy the lites bull, but I do enjoy the littel treat each day and since it has been a few months, I have finally gotten over all of the money I spent, but spending all of that oney has made me determined to stick with this plan.

Sally~ try to use the really light foods when you are to full to get anything else in. At the end of the day I will have a glass of apple juice (4 oz os a fruit) or 3 crackers for a starch. I too struggle with getting in all of the protien, but if you liek penut butter, that's an easy one and soy milk. I useto do nuts, but I woudl end up snacking on them in the middle of the night, so i don't buy them anymore :)

:welcome: to all of the new chicks.

Tee625 11-05-2005 03:17 PM

What does the Gold plan without the lites consist of? I'm trying to adjust to this new way of eating but I admit it's very hard for me. Thanks Sheenie for the advice I will check out the journals and get some ideas. My problem is I am a very picky eater and there is so much foods that I don't eat/like that I tend to eat the same things over and over when I'm dieting. After I while I just give up. I am determined to stick this out though and prove to myself that I can do it.

My starting weight is 175lbs and my goal weight is 140lbs.

shennie_97 11-05-2005 06:31 PM

Tee, I understand completly, because my daily diet consists of the same 2 lemon lites and 60z of chicken in a salad daily. I might switch my grits for an english muffin in the morning, but I am sooo predictable because i am soooo picky.
There is no gold without lites, you would be put on a version of red.
Andi/wtxchick was on gold and moved to this plan: Red Plan/No lites PP1/2 VVVV FFF SSS D Fa
The proteins are 2 oz larger than the gold sizes, so it is alot of food, but she is still lossing on it.

deetsmom 11-05-2005 06:39 PM

Does the Gold plan last until a certain weight? I STILL am confused.

Sallydallydo 11-05-2005 07:45 PM

Thanks Shennie!
My son is allergic to peanuts, so no peanut butter in our house. :(
You are so right about the juice. I do the apple juice in the evenings sometimes to get in 2 fruits...I put 8 oz in a glass measuring cup, with a teaspoon of Williams Sonoma mulling spices, and microwave it for 90 seconds. Let steep for a few minutes, then pour through a strainer into a mug.
I still have to get in another fruit and both my dairy tonight, but I am stuffed! Looks like it will be a late evening snack.

Sallydallydo 11-05-2005 08:00 PM

Oh, one more question! My husband wants to try this, but I don't know which color plan men typically use. Certainly he wouldn't be on gold! Any of you have hubbies who are doing LAWL without the lites? What are the daily servings?

deetsmom 11-05-2005 09:02 PM

Mary, NUTELLA is FABULOUS, BUT...its CHOCOLATE Hazelnut...devilish and definitely not OP:( Trader Joes is also a great but butter resource or you can make your own in the food processor, its really easy.

Purple

textjewel 11-06-2005 06:29 AM

Hey chicks -

I'm on gold, just moved a couple of weeks ago from purple - it has been an adjustment even though its just a few ounces of protein less a day. .

Tiffany, it does take time for our bodies to get used to less food, and less fat in our diets - and we are hungry until our bodies adjust. It really does help if you can spread your food out during the day

About the lites - you definately don't need the lites to lose weight -- there is nothing magic about them; (although they do have soy, and there's new research all the time!) but these are SALESPEOPLE. The first rule in the book - don't give the customer a choice to say NO.

I will say this about the lites - the basic plan has little sweetness in it, so the lites will definately help with that. . .

Nut butters - they are in the new menu guide -same serving size as peanut butter. . (thanks for the warning about the Nutella - I have an unopened jar in my pantry - I guess it'll stay unopened.. .)

Bobby18 11-06-2005 01:33 PM

I am still not 100% certain as to what I am going to do about the lites, but know that I don't want to spend hundreds more upfront. My program was close to $900, so add another $500+ on to that and it is a lot of $ right away. I had my first lite this morning (fruit and oat) and thought it was horrible.

I could definitely use the extra S and the extra protein wouldn't be so bad most days. I am a bit tentative about eating that much protein each day. I currently eat approx. 3 oz of chicken breast as a serving - the 5 oz (cooked) in Gold seems like a tonne. I can't imagine the serving size increasing even more!

On a good note, I lost 1 lb. with the centre yesterday and another 1.5 lbs. this morning when I weighed. Personally, I am quite happy given that is 2.5 lbs. since Thurs!

I am so bad at decisions - I wish I knew what to do about the lites.

shennie_97 11-06-2005 03:44 PM

bobby, why don't you check out your local grocery, traget, walgreens stores and try some lunas. I ahve never had one (I paid for my lites in bulk :() but i know people on here say they have far more variety. If you decide to do the lunas, you save $, plus you can stick with your regualr plan and substitute the lunas for the lites.

shennie_97 11-06-2005 03:55 PM

can't remember who it was that can't get in all of their foods, but frozen meals help too. They are a protein and a starch and ussually not that large. And when I am proteined out I do go for the CC meals to get a chnage of pace.

wtxchick 11-06-2005 05:55 PM

At my personal success visit, I was put on Gold with Lites and given a free 5 day supply of the lites - various flavors. I knew that they were going to put the squeeze on me thanks to my good friends here ;) , so I decided when I was eating them that they were going to have to be really good for me to purchase them at all. Imagine my surprise when I couldn't even choke them down. I spent two miserable days on the Gold choking down those Lites (I really didn't like them! :p ) and then they switched me to the Red Plan without Lites.

Oddly enough, every time I went for a visit, I had counselors asking me "and you are on the Red plan?" which I thought was odd. The gal who put me on the Red had quit, so I just assumed that she knew what she was doing. I liked the Red plan - it had more starch and protien!! :carrot:

This past Saturday, the counselor said, "Andi, I have to fix this." She showed me the yellow sheet that said something like "figuring plans without lites" and it had a section for "healthy females over 18 and under 65." She pulls out a sheet of paper that had weights on them and for my height (5'7) the weight to use is 133 pounds. I told her I didn't want to weigh 133 pounds and she told me that was just the amount they used to figure the programs. On the yellow sheet, she took 133 pounds and added 10 pounds and that equaled the Purple Plan. Then she added 50 pounds to that and it equaled the Purple plan. It looked like this:

Weight 133 + 10 pounds = 144 Purple
+ 50 pounds - 194 Purple
+ 40 pounds = 233 Red

All she could figure was that the original girl misread and gave me the Red. So they moved me to purple.

By the way, I also saw on this sheet that healthy men 18 to 65 are on the Red plan. You would take their goal weight and add up to 80 pounds to get the Red plan. Of course, this is for those not using lites. Anyone exercising 5 hours or more each week uses the Red plan without lites. All teenagers are on Orange 1 without lites and stay on that until they are within 10 pounds of their goal.

I wanted a copy of the sheet! :p

Purple vs. Gold w/ Lites

Andi,

Can you please post what the breakdown is now that you are on Purple. I would like to know what extra I would be getting instead of with Gold. I am currently eating a Cookie Dough lite and think it is OK. MUCH better than the Fruit & Oat from this morning.

Thanks.

MetalChic 11-07-2005 09:30 AM

I'm currently on maintenance on modified purple wo/lites.

I started on Red Plus wo/lites at 230.4lbs.

Went to Red wo/lites at 224lbs, and purple wo/lites at 184lbs.

Currently I am 140lbs.

I was 230.4lbs
now 140lbs
5'4.5" tall
I lost 47.5 inches!

I went from a tight 18 to a loose 8!

wtxchick 11-07-2005 03:45 PM

Bobby18 - My Gold w/Lites was 2 P, 3V, 3F, 2S, 1 D, 1Fat, 2 Lites
The protien servings were 4 oz beef (raw), 6 oz chicken (raw), 2 eggs, 2 T. RF Peanut Butter

My Purple Plan without Lites is 2P, 4V, 3F, 2S, 1D, 1Fat
However, the protien servings are bigger: 6 oz beef (raw), 8 oz chicken (raw), 3 eggs, 3 T RF Peanut Butter

The Purple Plan is supposed to be my plan all the way to my goal weight. I currently weigh 185 and my goal is 145-150.

I wonder how much you have to weigh to do the Purple Plan with the Lites??

Andi
