LA Weightloss #29
I wanted to start a new thread ours got to 4 pages!
Here was my last post on LA WL #28 ************** Marcie, you are doing so well! It is hard to resist chocolate and you should be very proud of yourself!!! I lost another 1.5 at weigh in this morning. I am back to my quick losing self. I was losing extremly fast in the beginning and slowed down a lot. Now, I seem to be losing quickly again. The only difference is I am less stressed and I am exercising daily! I was the one who the counselor said to limit exercising. I showed her sometimes I do 45 minutes on my treadmill! I have done at least 20 minutes 5 times a week for 2 weeks! (I aim for 35-45 min) I feel so good and I know it is helping! Anyone, heard of the new cookies? I got a sample today. I usually don't buy any extras but I liked it. They count as a fruit and a starch. I am getting a bit bored and I might buy them. $6 a box I think? A bit much but I may just do it once in a while. Friends?
Someone on the last thread mentioned a friend wanting to take her out to lunch at a Mexican restaurant. It clicked something in me that I struggled with in the past. The last time I lost a lot of weight--about 90 lbs.--and really got in good physical condition, I found a lot of my "friends" got a bad case of green-eyed monster. I felt that I was the same person as before, just better, but kept getting little digs that hurt my feelings. All of a sudden it seemed like all areas of my life were up for criticism. I figure that some people get resentful when you have the willpower that they can't muster up for themselves. Plus, they don't have an "enabler" to go chow down with. Be strong--and be your own best friend. And in the process, maybe you can be a positive example to spur someone else on to better health.
Oh, and as for eating in the Mexican restaurant, if you are feeling strong enough to resist the chips, cheese dip, & margarhitas, why not go? Have a taco salad (I get mine with fahita steak), and picante sauce instead of dressing. Just hold the guacamole & sour cream! I got measured today--in just over 6 weeks I've lost 23-3/4 inches and 29 lbs! I'm psyched! Tami |

Congrats to Karen and Tami!!! That is great you guys!! Just went and weighed in myself and I was down 4 pounds!!! YYEEEAAAA!!!:) I am feeling great today!! Tami, I am afraid at this point I do not have the will power not to eat the chips, salsa, cheese dip and margaritas. I know this and I want to stay as far away from a Mexican Restaurant as possible! :devil: Karen, thanks for the encouragement! I am gald you are losing quickly agian! I need to start exercising myself. I know it will help!! Oh and thanks for starting the new thread!

Karen, I had talked to my counseler and told her that someone was saying that their counselers said to slow down on exercise. My counselor said is it feels good do it. It is good for you to exercise, especially if you like what you are doing for yourself. I am been at choir camp all week at church and telling everyone about Laweight loss. I have at least 4 that are going in for the free counsiltation. I am so excited for them. At LAweight loss they said we get $20 of free products for each person signed up and I said what do we tell people? Hey you need to go to LAweight loss. Since I have lost 30 pounds it is advertisment in itself and people would ask me about it. I just get them all pumped up about the program and I can't believe they want to check into it. When I use to go to weight Watchers they would tell us to get an accountable partner and I never had anyone because I lived in the next county and it was long distance. I don't think that the leaders think about things like that. But this chat site is great. Love having all of you as accountable partners. Sharon |
Hi all,
I've been away for a week, we went on our cruise it was wonderful. Key West is a sleepy little town, but has great key lime pie. We tried it frozen on a stick dipped in chocolate. It was delish. I only had three bites, I also had a large Margarita in Mexico, but I was on vacation after all. I weighed in on return and lost 1 1/4 pounds. I don't get it really. Anyway, now trying to get back into the swing of things, struggling a little with staying on plan since we are back. I think because my husband is still off from work. Having lots of company for a father's day brunch, I need to plan the menu too! Ok, kids are out of the house at camp, I'm going to exercise, Hope everyone is having a good day. Sara |
Hi everyone. I am trying real hard to get myself back on track. I am going to weigh in today, it has been 2 weeks. I know I will gain. I have started exercising on my stationary bike. I feel good knowing I am starting that. I only ride for about 10 to 15 min so far. Trying to start out slow so I will stick to it. It helps get me motivated. It sure has been tough lately. My old self is really raring up. But I am not going to give up. It will be hard this weekend cause I am going to a dog show for the weekend. Lots of socializing and to much wrong eating. I will try to be good though. Well everyone have a good day. I will report after I weigh in.

Hi, ladies! I was doing so well then I screwed up yesterday! I just wnated to pop in and tell all of you so I would feel accountable. I am goign to exercise more today. My 3 year old ahs been sick and I guess i got a little stressed and dealt with it wrong. I don't know why I did it. I ahve been doign thsi for 6 months and I guess I am getting a little tired of being on a diet. I am goign to try extra hard the rest of the week. I hope I can make up enough for yesterday and not gain at my weigh in tomoorw!
Sara, I am so glad you had a good vacation! We are going on a little one in July. I am a little worried but I think I will be OK. It is mostly for a new job my husband is going to start in 2002. He wants to visit and see is we will like it and figure out the benifits ect. Not a real vacation but we will be out of town. Sometimes I lose when I eat too much and I don't understand why. I think our bodies allow us to cheat some it breaks up the same old food we ahve been eating. I am glad you lost after your trip! I better go now, Karen |
Well, I went and weighed in. Gained 3 lbs. Boy, now I have to get busy. So hopefully I will do it before Monday when I weigh in again. Gosh....weekend coming up....my bad times. But I will try this time.

It's great that you know your own limitations as far as temptations (Mexican Restaurant). I think that's half the battle--knowing what may push you off program, and avoiding it! My problem is that I tend to be an "all-or-nothing" person, which is why I have yo-yo'd my entire adult life. When I good I'm pretty darn good, but when I'm bad...it's a free-for-all. THIS is my challenge...to learn limits on how and when I can "cheat" without going crazy. Sharon-- Regarding the referral program at LAWL, how about picking up a few business cards or brochures when you go in next time....jot at the bottom, "tell 'em Sharon sent you!", just to make sure you get credit. I know I've mentioned to several people what program I'm on, but haven't told them to mention my name when they go in, so unless they tell me they are going to sign up, I may not get credit...and LAWL may not choose to give you the credit if it's not mentioned at sign up. Sara-- Wow, you did great to stay so good while on a cruise. I've gained weight (5-7 lbs.) every time I've gone on one--they're eat-a-thons! I just hope I can go to the beach next month for a week and maintain. At least there'll be good, fresh seafood! Lorrie-- Have you considered going back to the start-up program again? It might give you a weight loss boost that will inspire you to get into it again. Lorrie & Karen-- You're on the right track, just by showing up here (& at your center), and the exercise is great, too! Good luck this weekend. Get a water bottle sling & keep it with you at all times! Not only will it help you drink your water, it will be a constant reminder of your choice in how/what/when you eat, too. I did take card and brochures in to the ladies I told. I am also giving the names of the ladies to the counselers at LAweightloss. I had a pampered chef party a couple weeks ago and talked about laweightloss to the hostess and she went down and talked to them and signed up. They did put her name on my chart. I am going to weigh in tomorrow. I don't have to work with the kids at church tomorrow. I am pooped out from all of the work. We had over 250 kids in crafts.Tomorrow is rehearsal for the program and skate day. Think I will take it off and just drop off my kids. I sure did get a good workout this week. Hope I lose good tomorrow. I took my lunch and stayed on program all week. Even with the brownies the craft leader brought in. She got me a cute kitchen towel since I cant eat the brownies. I thought that was so considerate of her. I think my bars are just as good or better than brownies anyway. Gotta go. Sharon |

I was having such a hard time with my computer the past week---it kept knocking me off as soon as I would get into 3FC. I was bumbed out because I wanted to tell you all my great news---I weighed in last Saturday---and I LOST 5 pounds!!!!! Total lose for the week=3 (had gained two the beginning of the week) Total now-------48 pounds!!!!!!!!! I haven't gone in all week---different reasons--but, I have been doing okay during the week--I think I am going to start PMSing--so, we'll see---probably weight gain tomorrow--but, that is okay---I know it will be gone in a week!!!!! I tried the cookies----one of the counselors gave a sample==she said the blueberry was the best----I didn't care for it--I think the other is oatmeal raisan (I think I might be wrong) I didn't care for it--I am not crazy about blueberries. Anyway--2 bars a day curbes myb sweet tooth Gonna get to baed--it is just after midnight here and it is hot Have a great weekend!!!!!! Margaret |

Back on Track
Hey girls,
I haven't been in to the site for a couple of days. I've been really busy at work! But hopefully I'm back on program. I'm down 20.5 lbs in 8.5 weeks. I'm ecstatic! I'm back OP! I had my time, now it's time to get down to business! Lorrie I know exactly where you are at. Just keep hanging in there going to the center and staying with the web site. Give yourself permission to be a little bad and if you have trouble still, then just keep trying. You'll be back eventually. I know you want it; we all want it or we wouldn't be here! I've just gone thru what you're going thru and it's tough! We've developed bad eating habits over all of our life, therefore they are not going to go away overnight, like we all want them too. Tami, I agree with you that our bodies allow us to cheat a little so we don't get so bored and give it up! I know I would! If I had of stuck with the program by the book, I probably would have lost more weight by now, but deprivation makes me do worse! I'm happy with an avg of 2+ pound/week. The slower I lose, the less likely that I'll gain it back! Margaret, Congrats on the weight loss! You hung in there and got rid of what you had gained plus 3 more pounds! Congrats!!!! Marcie, I know what you mean by staying away from places that you know beyond a shadow of a doubt that you won't be able to resist. I have those places too! Steak and Shake and Pizza places are my worst! We ate Steak and Shake last weekend and it made me so sick! Thank goodness! I don't think I'll be going there again for a while! Tonight I'll eat pizza, it's a Friday night tradition! I'll just watch my portions and eat a salad with it! Keep up the good work, Marcie! Sara, That's amazing to have come off of a cruise and have lost weight!!! I've never been on a cruise but from what I here it's a real "food fest". We're going to the mountains for a couple of days in a couple of weeks. I'll be happy if I can just maintain!!! Where is the camp you've been at? I bet you were able to get lots of exercise! I'm impressed that you made it thru a Pampered Chef party and didn't indulge! That stuff is always so good!!!! Especially when someone else cooks it! I agree, the bars take care of my sweet tooth for the most part, so I try not to indulge into the extras. Hi all,
Weighed in this morning and lost another 1 1/4 pounds, 32 pounds in my 11th week. Janie, choir camp is like bible school at church. Sunday night is the program the kids have been working on all week. Yes, I did get exercise running around the room helping the kids with their crafts. Glad it is over. I am drained. Tomorrow going to a family reunion in Cadiz, Ky. I am taking some things just in case I run into trouble with all of the goodies I am sure will be there. I will just take my little cooler with fruit, bars, and maybe chicken. I don't want to mess up now. The cookies are good. But like the bars they are expensive. They are a fruit and a starch. It was good the other day when I needed something fast for breakfast. They are $8 a box of 4 or 5 boxes for $30. They are a good size cookie. Everyone is doing so good. Love this site. Sharon |

We're going to Hopkinsville tomorrow too for Father's Day. Maybe we'll pass on I-24. I've had a really crummy day and grabbed a box of Golden Grahams when I walked in the house! My husband took it away from me and said if you don't stop eating those, you're going to feel really bad! He's right! Congratulations on your weight loss today. I was supposed to weigh today but I was so bloated from my lunch, I was afraid I'd be up a pound or two from gas! I ate brown beans and steamed broccoli for lunch! Hey everyone!!
Sorry it has been a couple of days since I last checked in...I have started my new job and I had to go to Birmingham (1.5 hours away) yesterday morning. I ran out of the house and grabbed my jello. Well I didn't expect to be there all day so I wasn't prepared. My training was just me and the trainer and we were in her hotel room and I was studying till 1:00 then we went to lunch. I had a salad and baked potato and water. Then we went back and went over more info and before I knew it , it was 5:30. I was so thirsty and felt so bad b/c I hadn't had my water and fruit and veggies. I stopped at a gas station and dumb me...craved a coke. So I drank a real coke and grabbed some chex mix while I was at it. Got home at about 7:45 and ate chicken, green beans, and mac n cheese. Talk about blowing it. Then today..same situation...had an apple for lunch and then headed home at 1:30 and I was starving..went to McDonalds and had a value meal of a chicken sandwhich, fries and a dr. pepper. I then went and weighed in and up a pound. Am I surprised? No..disapointed in myself? Yes. Anyway I am sitting here drinking my water. Reading your posts and feeling better b/c everyone is doing so well! Sharon, Janie, & Sara- great job you guys!! You deserve a pat on the back! Lorrie-hang in there! We can do this together!! That 3 pounds could just be water weight! Here's a question for everyone...does anyone have a certain piece of clothing they are looking forward to getting into or already have???? Tomorrow is another day and we cannot fix yesterday. Just look forward to what is coming. I am so excited. I still have 98 pounds to lose, but it was 130. Maybe we should keep an emergency menu on hand, like (written down) McDonalds McGrill with extra lettuce and lite mayo. If I don't have but 1 starch left I toss half the bun away. And as always the garden salad with lt vinegarette. Or the Chicken Salad is good too. Keep some of the lalight snacks on hand, even an lalight cookie is a fruit and a starch.I know that the devil: is just hanging over our heads with a smile on his face when we cheat. Draw a picture of the devil and cut out what you like from pictures from a magazine (cake, pizza,etc). I am just trying to think of some mind games to help us. We can fight this demon of food that wants to posess us. We want to be healthy and have fun. As far as old clothes that were small. I have a small pair of levis that are 10's or 8's. I am going to have to take in some of my shorts. My bras are not in the last hook anymore, it is in the first hook. At $20 a shot for a bra, I will have to look for a sale. No complains though. Clothes to wear
WOW! I've never thought about a certain piece of clothing that I'd like to get into. Sometimes I get into my closet and find something I haven't worn for a couple of years and am shocked that it fits when I put it on. I'm just looking forward to getting something new for my husband's Christmas party. Something really nice; even though it's boring, I'm always so jealous of some of the on-air personalities at the TV station that always look so drop- dead gorgeous, I just want to feel just as great in my clothes as they seem too. I've got a little green velvet dress that I'd love to get into. It's a 12 or 14. I guess that's my goal.
I had pizza tonight and did OK. I was like you , Marcie, I was so hungry and tired. I didn't take time this afternoon to eat my LA lite, so I didn't do so great at supper, but as Sharon says, tomorrow is another day! I agree that we need to have a LA menu on hand, but I think the trick is to not go in so McDonald's or Pizza Hut soooooooo hungry! That's what I did tonight; not a good idea! We're going to my inlaws tomorrow. The last time, I was there we had some good ol' southern BBQ. It made me so sick. I suppose because of the grease and smoking, I hadn't had anything like that in a while. I asked for BBQ chix. I guess I'll get me some fruit and veggies to take with me, like Sharon. Talked to my Mom in Michigan tonight. I was telling you at one time she needs to lose at least 80 pounds. I was telling her about LAweightloss and she said Oh, just another program that won't work. Every other day I have told her of my loss and she has been asking me alot of questions about the program. She is just so excited for me she can't believe how much I have lost in a short time. She wants me to show her how the program works when I get up there. Cant wait to get her started. Will just be the girls up there. Me, my daughter, Mom and Grandma lives not far. My daughter is 8 and needs some discipline to stop eating too. I don't want her to have a problem like me. The only thing is she cannot have the lites, but maybe I can sub something else. Sharon |
Sharon-I think that is great about getting your mom started! I tried a ton of programs also and they didn't work. She will be plesently surprised with this one! You are also right about being prepared. I am trying to do this for my trip that I am leaving on tomorrow. I am packing apples to get me through a day till I can hopefully get to a grocery store. Janie your also right about not going in McDonalds so hungry! I should have gotten a big bottle of water at the gas station I stopped at and that would have tied me over till I got home to the right foods! Tomorrow is another day and I hope I have a good week. I hope there is food I can eat. I know that they will provide lunch and I am sure that it will be sandwiches with deli meat, which is a big no no. I guess I will try to just take the bread off. I am leaving tomorrow and will be back late Friday! I'll let you know how I did on Sat. Hope you all have a great rest of the weekend. I know you guys had big plans for Fathers Day. Hope you do well! I am sure you will! As for clothes...there is a gorgeous blue suit in my closet that is a 10 and I would kill to fit into that! There is also an adorable pant suit that is silk and it is a 14, but super tight! I would love to wear that as well!

Can't sleep
It's after 1am and I can't sleep. Went to bed at 10p and now I'm wide awake. I didn't do so great to day. I did well at my moms, well as well as can be expected, I tried a little of everything that I wanted. Amazingly, I picked healthy stuff! (except for the tiny piece of cake and tiny piece of pie, but it's been soooooo long!)
Tonight was where I really screwed up. When we got home, my husband fixed my kids chili hotdogs. I was so tired and not feeling well that I ate one, bread, hot dog, chili and cheese (2%) Marcie, I didn't take my own advice! But tomorrow is another day! I was up 3/4 lb today. I'm not feeling too good. I'm feeling really bloated. It's PMS, but it gets earlier and earlier every month. It's still over a week before my period is due. This all comes along with the increase in depression! I've got a dr appt Wed. I think I'm ready for them just to take all of my female stuff out. What a pain!!!!! I did the green tea tonight. HI Everyone
Hope you all had a nice Fathers Day. I spent it with my hubby and then we went to my inlaws for lunch/dinner. The one good thing about going there at 2 and eating around 3-3:30, is I don't have lunch before I go and I don't eat after I get home. Well, it started out BADDDDDDDDDDDDDD! My son and I made my hubby a huge breakfast (bacon,sausages, eggs,english muffins) and, of course, I had some. I weighed in yesterday, and I went up---but, I am PMSing and will be done and DOWN by the end of the week. I knew something was going wrong the other day when I was craving chips (and ate them) and then something sweet (but, had my bar. That is the good thing about always carrying a bar in my bag at all times. The only bad thing, is when it is there and gets melted. ANyway, I am going to get some last minute things done around here. Wow, all of you ahve been busy! I had company since Friday so I couldn't use the computer. I missed all of you. I ahve been exercising daily. I didn't do to well over the weekend. I ate things I shouldn't have. I did exercise to make up but I don't know if it helped. I am constipated now so I am not expecting a loss today at weigh in. I have had problems with that lately.
Sharon, my Mom keeps asking me about thsi program and I wish they had a center near her. I ams o glad you care about her. I have to tell all of you a story. I think you all will appreciate it. My In laws are always taking pictures of the family and I always hated it! My sister in law is in the Navy (so is my hubby but a differnt job). She works in a Navy SEAL office. A bunch of fit and healthy guys work with her. She has a few of my fat photos form about a yar ago on her desk with the kids and my hubby. Recently, my Father law visited and took some more dreded pictures of us. My sister in law put the new picture on her desk. The guys she worked with kept asking her "Is that the same girl? Wow, she looks good." That is the boost I nedded! Can you believe it? Not all the nice words from my hubby but complete strangers saying I look good. I am on cloud 9 right now! I was starting to get bored and wanted to just quit but now I don't think I will be able to stop when I reach goal. I better go now! I will post some individuals after my weigh in. Karen |

I had a bad weekend, too, ya'll. Friday night I took the kids out for dinner at Chili's. They have lot's of "legal" choices, but I proceded to have fahitas and 3 glasses of wine, and even a few tortilla chips. Then on Saturday we had friends over. I made good food choices...but had several more glasses of wine. I'll be heading out to weigh in a few minutes. Hope I didn't gain too much.
Sharon, You mentioned that your daughter couldn't have LA Lites, and I'm wondering why not? There shouldn't be anything in there harmful for a child. Of course, my 10-year old (who also needs to eat better) thinks they're gross. Maybe you could substitute a granola bar instead. Karen, Have you ever used Senna tea for constipation? It works almost too good for me--sometimes I wake up with stomache cramps, but I sure get cleaned out! Loved your story...a real pick up! Reminds me of a situation a few years ago, after I had lost 90 lbs. I ran into a male friend who I hadn't seen in several years. After he recognized me (took a while!) he exclaimed, "You got divorced!" I guess his assumption is that married women don't make the effort to lose weight! When I mentioned my daughter couldn't have the L A lites is because I can't afford them for both of us.
I am going to have to think of a substitute for her. There use to be a W W recipe where you used Alba, peanut butter and grapenuts and froze them and it tasted like candy. Maybe I could subsitute something like that. I will have to find something I can use for her. I am having real trouble with her just living in the kitchen. ONly 8 years old and weighs 125 lb. There is no way I want her to be overweight or go through what I have. At weight watchers you have to be 10 years old to join. Anyway I like laweightloss and I am going to have to be real strick with her and have nothing fattening in the house.My son can eat about anything, but does stop when he is full. Guess I will have to put the brakes on pop, chips, cookies for the rest of the family. I will look for healthy things for them. I am going to homeschool her this year so hopefully I can put healthy cooking in our program along with daily walking or exercise. Guess I should practice what I preach. Saturday I was going to take fruit and I did take my bar. I wanted to stop at subway or McDonalds to get my meal when I went up to KY for my family reunion. My husband said just be careful, but when there is not much what I could have on a potluck table I messed up. Gained 2 3/4 pounds. Did not get all of my water in and did get back on program the next day. I WILL stop at McD's or Subway next time and get what I can have. It's hard to drink all of your water when you are driving 2 hours then visiting 4 hr and driving for a few more hours. I would have to stop and pee all of the way home. I was up 1 3/4# yesterday after my weekend! So today, I'm back on the wagon! Sharon, I was like your daughter when I was younger. My mom put me changed what she cooked for me by baking, broiling or boiling everything. Instead of my usual P/B sandwich and 16oz Coke in the afternoons, I had apples with a little peanut butter and a smaller glass of Coke. When we went out to eat, my favorite place was Long John Silvers, I'd get a fish sandwich; take the top bun off and eat coleslaw with it. She ate like that too, so we were doing it together. I was 10 at the time and 130#. I still got most everything I liked but just changed the "presentation". Good luck! My 9 yr old is skinny as a rail, but I'm afraid she's going to have the same problem one of these days because she's mine! Heredity plays a big part despite what they say! She doesn't like anything but pizza, chicken and spaghetti. Tami, The good thing in this story ( and mine too) that we're back on the program and back here!!!! It'll be better next time! Karen, I'm having a real problem with constipation too. I'm using the green tea from the center. I steep it longer than the directions read and it works wonderful!!! i only lost 1/4 pound yesterday. My scale at home says I lost more today. I guess I will know for sure when I weigh in tomorrow. Janie, I will ask about the green tea. I guess it is safe? Sharon, I am so glad you have a great attidude with your daughter! I was skinny but i always got "if you eat that you will be fat like me", from my MOm. I had a friend overweight at that age. She did great and was goregous by the time she was 16. We were all so proud of her. She moved away and came back and we were shocked. I know your daughter can do it and I am sure you will be a great help. I have to work today so i better go now. Sometimes I think I am crazy babysittng other peoples kids as well as my own. I know what you mean about the green tea being safe. It must be because I don't believe they would be selling it. I was a little apprehensive about it too. But I became desperate so I tried it. It worked well without cramps or anything like a real laxative. It says for best results drink 2 cups/day. I haven't gone that far with it. I'm only doing it 1/2 cup when I need it. So far so good. I lost at weigh in! I really messed up and had some doritos, Yikes!! My youngest son is sick and I was so stressed out. He has been hard to deal with today. He will be 2 in August and doesn't handle being sick bery well. He seems to be happier with his daddy, I can't wait till he gets home! Maybe, he can calm him down again. It worked last night.
I am so glad I lost I am going to use th treadmill to work off those Doritios right now. I am probably going to skip my starch I saved for dinner as well. Janie, thanks for the information. I hope everyone is Ok. It has been quiet here. I guess everyone is busy! Karen |
Lost
Lost 1 3/4 pounds and back on track.
Had gain 2 3/4 over the weekend. Total loss of 31 pounds. How is everyone doing. Had to push mow the lawn yesterday because the rider broke. That helped me get my exercise for the day. Of course it was hot (92) and muggy out yesterday. Drank tons of water. Have a good day everyone Sharon |

Gained!
Me too Sharon! I'm up 2 1/2 pounds! I've been a trainwreck lately though and been doing some emotional and stress eating! I've got to get back on track. I may need to start exercising! I haven't been and still lost 20lbs in 8 weeks but I know it's too good to last!
I went to the doctor today and he put me on a new BCP. If that doesn't make the cramps and bleeding better then we'll have to go a little further! I'm hoping that this will take care of it! I'm not up to another surgery or anything to do with it! We've been in TN 2 yrs and had 2 surgeries. But I feel much better trying to get something done about it! He says he doesn't think I'm perimenopausal, but how does he know? No labs or anything done! Oh well! Back to the ol' program! Congratulations on being back on program and your loss!!!!! 12 Week Challenge
I've been struggling myself lately. I don't know if this would help anyone, but I've started a Thread on WW Maintainence called the 12 Week journal Diary Challenge. To go along with that wonderful spiral bound notebook covering 12 weeks of journaling.
Starting this week. Anyone interested to join it? It really keeps me focused. And yes I write down everyting - even when I have 50 point days. So far - and it wasn't perfect, I kept at it for two weeks journaling and lost 3 lbs. Hope this helps. Patch |

Welcome to our little group! LA Weight Loss is the weight loss center by that name. We all are going there for our weight loss efforts. I'm not sure what LA stands for but it works so it really doesn't matter! This is a great group with lots of support! Congrats on your weight loss! Journaling is an important part of LA Weight loss. Well---I have been doing pretty bad lately--in fact, I have been doing HORRRRIBLE for the last 3 1/2 months. I have been playing around with the same few pounds and for some unknown reason, I have not been able to get totally on track since vacation in March. I did achieve my short term goal at that time to lose an additional 10 pounds before the trip---it is just hard to get back on. I try for a day or two--but--then--I go and eat something bad. I am still going to weigh in about twice a week and I do eat the bars---BUT-----
I really needed a manicure yesterday and I found one right next door to LA Weightloss (the center just moved a few weeks ago) After work, I headed over to the nail salon and had no intention of weighing in. (I had just eaten a bad lunch and was wearing jeans.--I always weigh in-in the morning before I eat anything. Well, I went for my manicure and I felt really good because she did a GREAT job and she gave me the best massage I have gotten in a LONG time, and I started to feel terrific!! As my nails were drying, I said---to **** with it-I am only fooling myself---who cares if I gained---I know how I did--it makes no difference in the counselors life---so, after my nails were dry--I went in---I stayed the same---which means--I really have lost. (I had been PMSing a few days before and had gained--so now, since I had eaten and had heavy jeans on---I really lost!!!!!!!!!!) SHe spoke confidently to me and said maybe I should do the jet start again----the paln they had when I joined last year (the do take off now) Well, I am going to start either Sunday or MOnday---I think this will be the key to really get me going. WOW!!!! I am so glad to be back on this forum. I have been having a **** of a time getting on this thing.
Well nothing new going on with me except that I am ready to give up la weightloss and go on maintainance. I have been gaining and losing the same few lbs for the last few weeks. Ever since my last period. But the good news is that I have lost inches and I feel better then I ever have in my whole life. So I don' t know what to do. I don't want to buy more weeks but then I don't want to have to be gaining the same lbs.:lol: Karen M |
