LA to Your Door
 

I received an email today, claiming to be a new online service that will provide LA Weight Loss products. It is called LA to Your Door. I am a bit wary of dealing with any company remotely related to LA Weight Loss, but it would be nice to have access to fresh bars, without the "iffy" factor of Ebay. Has anyone had any contact with this service? I'd like to know more about this before I even consider placing an order.

It almost has the air of NutriSystem, when it went from "brick and mortar" to online.

WOW, how scary! They already have over $1,000 of my money as well as other people's money which they never refunded; do they actually think people are going to give them more???? What a gutsy, obnoxious move for them! I was actually hoping that there was another company that would sell the bars, etc.under a different name and stand by their products!!! The thought of giving any money to LA Weight Loss/Pure Weight Loss makes my stomach turn! Boy, could I use that money today!!!!

I got the e-mail too! I wonder if it is legit the packaging looks the same.

I must admit that I am quite souspicious about this whole idea myself!! I have been a victim of their no-refund myself..over 500$ is still owed to me, not to mention the missing products.

I would definitaly not buy anything from them in the futur!! Tere is no way for me to get a hold of ANYBODY from that company since the backrupcy of my center. I'm from Canada and have tried every LAWL phone number that I could find (including all the phoen numbers in the states) and it all leads nowehere.

Is there a website in your e-mail that gives more details on how to place your order? a phone number maybe?

I don't think it's worth it. The south beach living chocolate bar tastes awesome and seems to work just as well. I only eat one a day though.

What are jetstarts?

Jet starts are the coffee mocha drink. It counted as a fruit and a dairy. It was a good pick-me-up in the afternoons.

Ohh that sounds great! I have not been able to give up my coffee at all. I only put milk and sweetener in it now but still...that sounds yummy!

I think what I found off-putting was the deep discount for the monthly delivery contract. I think if they want to have our good will back, they should be offering good deals whether you make a long-term commitment or not.

I am slightly tempted, since I finally decided to do the LAWL plan while on Weight Watchers. It is easy to eat LAWL-style when you have the bars and a snack or two. I've never found a high protein bar from a store that tastes as good as the lites.

I have plenty of time to think about it, since I have almost a whole case of lites in the corner of my dining room!

I ordered at my Cookie Dough and Peanut Butter LA Lite Bars and Take Off Juice. I received the order in three days and they even called me to make sure my order was okay. I am thrilled, I can get my Lites. They are a different company who owns the rights the distribute the authentic LA Weight Loss products.I WOULD NEVER ORDER THESE PRODUCTS FROM EBAY!IT IS OLD EXPIRED PRODUCT. I order from EBay and the product was not even in a box when it arrived. The bars were stale! If your looking for the real deal... here where you will find it. They told me Slimdown, Jetstart, and bunch of other products will be available in a couple of weeks. I even received a LA menu plan with my order.

LAtoyour door is not la weight loss or pure weight loss - that's the best part about it! LAtoyour door is new company that bought the rights to make the la lites and they even can give you a copy of the diet...it's great. i have been waiting for those products to be available online because i loved the program but unfortuanly my center was one that closed (this economy is affecting everyone). I won't buy them from ebay because most of them are old and nasty. I just got my first shipment and the bars are just as I remember them - AWESOME! I started back on the program too - I already lost 4 pounds in 3 days - it's the best.

I don't doubt your sincerity, but I would rather see testimonials from people with more than one post apiece. Also, the economy did not kill LA Weight Loss. It was a poorly-managed company that ripped off its customers.

I am curious as to where LA Weight Loss IS open these days. I can't find that information anywhere.

TracyC - I agree! I would bet everything I own that this "new" so called company is just the same people with a new name! They stole my hard-earned money and I will NEVER forget that!!!

I guess I had a different experience with LA than you ladies. I apologize! I didnt realize I had to have more than one post to offer my opinion. I just wanted to share my results and maybe begin to build friendships, support...? I was pretty bummed out that my center closed and had a friend that lost some serious money too...but I was in maintenance so it didnt really affect me as much. Regardless, they have a good product and I am glad it's available again. I've done my share of diets but didnt have the results I achieved with LA.

It's the way of the world. We tend to gravitate towards products that are recommended by people we know. Two gushing posts in quick succession by first-time posters will not sway me like the testimonial of a person who's been on these boards for a long time.

If a "regular" tries this and is not burned, then I may think about it some more.

I ordered the bars, juice and meal replacement today. I have my fingers crossed that I get it. I was on LA and did wonderful. I still have weight to lose but of course the center in my area closed 2 yrs ago. I will post back to let you all know how it go (if I get it or not). They claim it will be here in 5-7 days.

hey, at least there is a link to the nutritional info that we are always asking about so that we can buy comparable products!

I received my la at your door package today!! I am so happy...no matter how many times I tried to lose weight w/out the products I had no success. I will start my road to success again on Tuesday after the holiday.

I was curious as to whether there were any LAWL locations left in the Phoenix area, and checked the LAWL website. I put in my zip code, and the LA to your Door page popped up. Now I KNOW I won't do business with LA to your Door. I will not send any hard-earned money to any business that is directly affiliated with LA Weight Loss.

I told the company recently that if they wanted our good will and trust back, they would not require account information to make you sign up for and auto delivery plan. If they allowed you to pay for one month with free shipping, then people might think about it. I do NOT want LAWL to have any account information from me. They behaved like a den of thieves, and now want us to belly up to their corporate bar and open up our wallets? No thanks.

hey im glad i found this thread, i too lost a TON of money, i paid it all up front which was almost 1thou..... big loss!! i had done the diet years ago and it did work, so i have to give them that, and it is nice to know that LA to your door is another company, although i have gotten bars off of ebay and had no problems what so ever with them, their still in date and dang, they taste good! lol!!

i was really close to the girls that were at my center and they had no idea what was going on, and they got canned right before christmas of all times!!

I wonder.... if we call these guys and tell them that they still owe us $$$$ in service if they will exchange it in product... wonder what they would say.???

Wow they charge a lot of money for their products! I too tried LA Weight loss. I lost almost 40 pounds but mostly by starving. Their diet was too tough for me and I did horrible on it plus lost a lot of money with their bars and diets. The people there were very nice but I would prefer having my money back since I have lost 80 pounds already doing Richard Simmons. Damn I wish I knew about RS before trying these people!

Does anyone know if LA To Your Door delivers to Canada?? I'm doing the program again at home, and I really like the product.

I would do anything to get my JetStarts and Slimdowns back again!! I looked at the site and it seems pretty legit, except that I wish the shipping wasn't so expensive without the autoship deal. I will most likely be ordering from them ASAP

Check on Ebay too. They have a lot of LA weightloss products available just check with the seller on the expiration dates. i purchased 2 Takeoffs and they were both good.

I too loved the LA lites peanut butter bars. However, I have found Luna Bars ie. chocolate nut brownie, which rocks!!!! Oh yeah, and cost less.

Hi, I was on LA Weight Loss too and I have to say that it really worked for me and was a great plan to follow. I lost my money too when they closed their doors, however, the plan is still a good one.

One of the former counselors told me that Luna bars are a perfect replacement for LA Lites and the Luna Bars are healthier in addition to being low glycemic.

I just ordered the LA Weight loss plan from LA To Your Door it includes something called LA Express, which you use for the first 4 weeks or until you lose 20 lbs which ever comes first. Then You change over to LA For Life (not sure of the exact name) and use that until you have reached your goal weight. You can go on their site and look under your height, weight and gender to see what plan you should go on. They give you the plan (no charge) that you should follow and it states how many proteins, starches, veggies, fruit, dairy, fat and lites you should have per day. I am going to use Luna Bars instead of Lites. The Luna Bars are a fraction of the price. So all it cost me was $29 for the diet itself. Just something some of you may want to consider. The former counselor also gave me a recipe to make my own "Take Off" type juice instead of purchasing theirs. She said it works just as well as theirs. LA To Your Door is charging a fortune for their products and I don't want to be obligated to them. If anyone wants the recipe for Take Off, please let me know.

I think all the La products are ridiculously over-priced and I never bought them. I follow a plan without lites(extra food)...and did just as fine.Personally...I think it is better to get used to "real" food than the LA-stuff...because in the end you will be left choosing your own food...you can not continue eating LA-bars for rest of your life...after the program is over.So it is better to start now...and learn how your body works as you go.

I use Luna bars and a Take-off substitute juice only for the 2 days of Take-off.Really would like to know the take-off juice recipe if you have it :)

Hi, I'm not sure where you live. I live in New York and the following is what I was told to use in place of the take off juice:

32oz of Knudsen "Simply Nutritious" morning blend juice.

I was also told that if I could not find the above juice that I could have two small oranges. 1 in the morning and 1 in the afternoon.

I was also told when the centers were open, that I could have Cantaloupe melon in place of the juice.

Please know that you do not have to buy their products to make the plan work. Also you don't have to do the Take Off phase either. I never did it - I started on my red plan immediately. I also never ate the bars. You don't need them and the plan works perfectly without them. Just add extra food to make up for not having the bars. I added an extra starch, 1/2 a protein, extra fruit and extra veggies.

Can anyone tell me how I can get one of those weight loss trackers at the bottom of my posts?? I have been using LA to your door and I haven't had any problems. I did so well on LAWL five years ago, and after several failed diet attempts, I started back on it. I have lost 7.2 lbs in two weeks!!

I just asked that same question on another thread on this site. I was told that you have to first have 20 posts and then you can get it from the drop down menu. If that information was not correct, can someone on this thread let us know.

I just tried to access the website and a message popped up that said, LA To Your Door is not available in your area". Strange because i did not even have the opportunity to enter a zip code or anything about my location.

When you use the Knudsen's Morning Blend juice, make sure you take out 6 ounces out of the jar and replace it with 6 ounces of water and add 6 Tbs of benefiber or fiber sure. That is what we were told. and is in the posts for the "recipes" for the Take Off Juice replacement.

Just joined this community! I am also so leary of giving LAWL ANY MORE of my money after being ripped off. But, it's the only thing that's really worked for me, and for whatever reason, it doesn't work (for me) w/out the bars!

I am still thinking about ordering. I did have a live chat with a customer service rep off of the LA TO YOUR DOOR website....and what she had to say (not surprisingly) was that she was sorry for my expericence w/ LAWL/PureWL, but they are a completely different company. She did what she could to convince me that my $$ are safe with them....but I'm not so sure. A name change does not = 'completely different company"

I will probably order, but not do any automatic shipments or advance payments.

Hi, like you LA Weight Loss was one of the only plans that worked for me "but" I follow it without the LA Lites because I am allergic to some of the ingredients. I also lost money when they went out of business like so many others however after a year of several unsuccessful attempts I went online and talked to the customer service people at LA To Your Door. I decided to take the plunge and sign up with them. They customized my plan since I can't eat the lites and I am dairy sensitive. I have been following the Rapid REsults plan which has been adjusted for me and its only been one week and I dropped 4 lbs.

Its a decision only you can make. As for myself, it was worth it because I didn't have to pay in advance for anything. I just signed up for the diet and decided to pay the $10 a month for on-line support for just the first two months - after that I will cancel it and sign up again if I hit a plateau or something.

Take Off
 

You can now get the Take Off juice at LA To Your Door but if you don't want to purchase it I was told back when I belong to LA Weight Loss that you can substitute either one orange or 1/2 cantelope in place of the juice.

I do three or four oranges when i do take off and it works great!

My wife and I have found that Detour Bars available at costco are really close to the specs on 2 LA LITE bars. (so I only have one a day) they are slightly less calories becuase they use less sugar. They cost (in Canada) 16$ for a box of 15. And they taste good.

And yes we lost a lot of money too, especially since we just paid 800$ for my daughter and son in law.

I wont order anything from LA.
