Default eating on the go

the meal i make the most mistake is lunch. I have no trouble eating a health breakfast and dinner when i am home it's when i'm out for lunch and in a hurry that i make bad food choices.

what does everyone think of jamba juice and robeks for lunch?

24 oz banzai blueberry smoothie from Robeks is 350 cals but 68 grams of sugar!

whats the feeling about smoothies? too much sugar? stay away from them?

what about cliff bars? i noticed they have 18grams of sugar

Homemade smoothies are good because you know what you put in them.

I usually go to Starbucks since I work near there. They have new healthy foods & snacks so that's great. But if not, I eat luna or kashi bars. South Beath meal replacements hold me over for a few hours. But I try my hardest to pack a good lunch for myself, even if it's some carrot & celery sticks or a quick sandwich. I usually make my lunches the day before.

Cliff Bar makes a really yummy 270 calorie high protein bar with 20 grams of protein -- I keep a few of those and a few lower calorie snack-sized bars by Balance, Slim Fast, etc. in my car ALL the time so that I don't get caught out without a high protein snack/meal option. That said, however, I try not to use the bars as a crutch too much, because I generally try to eat less sugar and more whole/healthy foods. However, almost every fast food restaurant offers a salad with grilled chicken, and you can just ignore that dressing packet or use just a tiny bit. I've also been known to pack a whole wheat turkey sandwich and an apple and a baggie of veggies and I'm good to go.
