Default Losers and Friends August 18-24

Wake Up everyone! Time to start the next week of losing!

Had a good weekend - DH and I came in 2nd at the Husband/Wife golf tournament Saturday - but I went a little over the liquid starches at the afterparty. I still managed to lose almost 3lbs for the week, so it's all good. I will not dwell on the obvious fact that it would have been a bigger loss had I not overstarched.

Crazy week this week. All of the district adminstrators have to go on a retreat at a camp in the Adirondacks on Wed-Thurs, so I'll be away for that. Plus, our auditors arrive on Friday! Ugh! So, I'll be singing Kumbaya on Thursday and singing the blues on Friday.

We are also going to see the Allman Brothers tomorrow night, so I'll be nice and exhausted for the 3 hour trip up to the camp at 6am Wednesday.

Where did summer go?

Hey all!

Was a pretty good weekend, but last week's conference in Clovis did some damage, at least where the liquid starches come into play.. Working on repairing said damage this week... Yikes!!

Get out there and make it a good week!!

Good Morning all!

Kim that sounds like quite a hectic schedule!!!

Dan isn't it more fun causing the damage than repairing

I had an okay weekend foodwise. Definately not pop, but I tried to be close to op as possible. We ate out and that is always hard especially now that DBF says, wow you can really see the difference 15 lbs makes your clothes fit so much better.....why not have just a little. I try to tell him how damaging that is but he is truly trying to be supportive. I did turn down chinese food, which is my favorite.

Hope everyone is going to have a great op week!

Morning everyone!

Kim- Glad to hear that the golf tourney ended well for you and DH!

Dan- Sounds like fun.

Erin- Good job with turning down Chinese!!

We had an eventful weekend. My DH and I are replacing our roof ourselves. On Saturday Scott was handing long sheets of metal up to me and my dad when my son ran up behind to help, tripped and fell and grabbed the metal on his way down. He cut his finger really bad. I took him to the ER for 26 stitches. He is feeling really good now though, so that is good.

Katie, How awful for your son! You sure did pick a hot spell to go out and work on the roof though, if your weather was at all like ours. Really super hot this last weekend.

Erin, When I finally decided to indulge in Chinese food, I felt so sick... and then bloated for a couple days after due to all the salt and grease and all... So that's what you are missing... feeling poisoned and swelling up half a size bigger...

We had our big family reunion pot luck this weekend, and it was deadly hot. It was definitely not a time when I made the best food choices, but at least it was too hot to eat all that much. Yesterday I felt so bloated after all the salt and sugar that I just wasn't that hungry and underate... so perhaps it balanced out a bit. Back on track... might do a TO later in the week as we leave for Hawaii on Sunday.

Katie - I cringed just reading about your son's episode....OUCH!
Nicole - welcome home...
Dan / Erin - definitely more fun causing the damage!
Kim - you are so witty for a Monday! Now I have a vision of you singing Kumbaya!

I guess I caught whatever Jillian has because I was a bit under the weather all weekend, and I didn't lose the 1 lb I had hoped for. Which really stinks, but all I can do is keep on plugging away.
BarbaraB - Hawaii sounds divine right about now!

Someone just sent me this (sorry Dan)....I had seen some of them, but not all. I guess I do have PMS and I'm guilty of number 3!!!

Too funny Joni..

As the unintended victim/target of some of those, I can totally relate!!!

Ok gang.. Time for me to restock some of my energy and resources toward keeping my goal in place... I've been WAY too lax in my daliances off plan..

It seems that now that my 20th reunion is past me, as is my big bike race, I've come to be too comfortable with straying into no-no territory when it comes to food...

Re-engaging with healthy food at home hasn't been too hard, but eating out is starting to become a problem again.. Liz and I were good yesterday when we took the kids to Fuddruckers, having grilled chicken salads, but we both indulged in some (but not a ton) of fries and basically laid off the starches for the rest of the day...

loading up on fruit and veg today, along with some turkey meatloaf I made last week.

I also made some fresh strawberry sorbet yesterday, using that splenda/sugar blend, rather than straight refined sugar.. Cuts the calorie count WAY down, and since the only other ingredient was strawberries, it's pretty healthy, right?

OMG Joni too funny, I love it

Goodness Katie sorry to hear about your er situation glad everyone is okay otherwise.

Thanks for the reminder Barbra, isn't it funny how we forget how awful some foods can make up feel the next time we are tempted by them.

MMM strawberry sorbet sounds delicious, how do you make it? And yes strawberries and splenda is healthy.

Oh, and Katie......poor DH and DS. OWIE!!!! You and your Scott seem so much like me and my Scott. We do almost everything by ourselves. I can say, however, that I have never roofed anything before
XOXO

Hi everybody,

I know I have been MIA for a few weeks now. Trying to get back to a routine and stop letting life get in the way but sometimes that is easier said than done.

Nicole - to answer your question from the other thread - I am ok - not great but ok. Been dealing with a lot of stuff again over the last few weeks and just trying to take 1 day at a time.

Good news is I have stayed about the same - fluctuating 1-2 lbs either way. But I hope to be back full time here again starting now.

Joni - nice to see you back again!!!

The kids in the US go back early to school - here they don't start till after labor day and the mothers I know all have it happily circled on the calendar!!

Well, I will check in later...mustgo get a few things done before I crash for the night.
