Morning everyone!

Nicole- I have a dang funny story to share. You will appreciate this. Last night we had dinner at the Outback for my sisters birthday. My DH and I sat across from each other. Partway through dinner, DH whispers, "Did you bring your purse in?" I showed it to him, and he took it, held it in his lap, and picked something up off of the floor and put in it. Apparently, partway through dinner he felt something fall out of his pant leg. He looked down and realized that a pair of his underwear had been stuck in one of his pant legs, and hit floor in the Outback. I laughed so hard that he was mad at me, LOL. Also, I am the person who does the laundry in the house, so he is doing a lot of "me" blaming anyway. I am just glad that it did not happen in Wal Mart or something.

Katie.......that is hilarious!!!! Sounds like something that woud happen to us!!! Your camper sounds wonderful. DH and I looked at one a couple of weeks ago. It was a bunkhouse, and the thing was nicer than my house.... We are thinking of buying one in the fall. I am not that much of a camper, but I think my attitude sucks a little cuz I have been camping in a tent and with babies for the last 17 years or so. Not that much fun. DH and the kids absolutely love it though, so I am hoping now that DS is almost 4, it will be more enjoyable

I am soooo glad school is starting this week. The summer went super fast, but all of a sudden, last week, I just started getting soooo crabby with the kids. That is never a good thing.........so I am glad change is on the way. I got all the kids up at 7:30 this morning, hoping to help them adjust. School starts on Thursday.

I checked out the flylady this a.m. and I think she will help me get back into the scheduled groove. I'm tellin' ya.......it is a constant struggle with me.......I much prefer to have a more unscheduled relaxed life.

JONI...........I am so happy you are back with us. I know, the site is addicting, a bit............but maybe you, Kim, and I can all figure out a way to do it in moderation. It is tough. I really did miss you.....and even though I try to keep up with email........I pretty much suck at it. .

Ok, time to go change the laundry.......the flylady is about to go crazy on me........
XOXO

Great story to start off the day, Katie!!

Had a pretty crappy weekend, foodwise... I just seem to be constantly hungry... I don't know if this is continued emotional reaction to losing our dog Sam, or what, but I'm getting TIRED of it..

To make matters worse, I'm only home today this week, with a conference to attend Tuesday through Thursday, with a return on Friday morning.

Liz is having a bit of a rough time at the moment.. Last week was really hard, especially coming after two weeks of me being gone.. Now I'm going to be gone a few days this week too.. But luckily, my traveling days are done for a while now that the State Fair is coming up.. In fact, I'll probably be in town more than she'll want..

Oh, Katie, I am still laughing!

We have a small pop-up, and we love it. We haven't taken it out in the last 2 summers, but we always plan to. I love the ones with the tip-outs - they are really cool. They are even making pop-ups with them now. We used to tent, but after a slight "bear incident" in the Adirondacks my DH decided he wanted to have a little more material between him and the wildlife. Plus, I'm too damn old now to tent.

Nicole - LOL, you didn't make the kids pretend to get on the school bus too, did you?

Dan - Hang in there. I guess the only thing to do is keep busy.

Well, I've been POP for about 4 hours now, am I obsessing too much?

Katie - that is hysterical indeed! Never a dull moment in your household...or Nicole's for that matter!

Kim - your sense of humor is still with you.

Dan - Does Liz post on the site at all...or is she just too busy! If she doesn't post, tell her to join us this week and we'll do our best to lift her spirits and fill some of her "Dan void." After catching up and reading the posts about Sam yesterday, I had a 'sympathy' ice cream bar ...a mini one....and it was good and I felt better. Actually, when I'm really, really, really sad, I lose weight...but I'd rather be really, really, really happy and deal with the weight loss another way.

Thanks Joni.. She's really tied up with work.. She's been having a bit of trouble adjusting to her new job and it's really sucking up her time trying to get on track there.. She's doing some work from home and just doesn't have the desire to spend time on the computer when she's not working, if you know what I mean...

Good point about the saddness vs. happiness when it comes to WL!!

Katie - your man must have some pretty small undies to not notice they were stuck in his pantleg! Mine would have definitely noticed that! I've had a fabric sheet fall out at times, but never underwear! That's hilarious!!!

Hi! I thought I'd finally post here and come out of hiding...I've been lurking for, well, a loooooooooong time.

My little story is this: my mom started LAWL 2yrs ago and has done fantastically well! She's lost 108lbs and been maintaining for 7mos so far. So, since she was losing so well, I decided to join in March of 2007. Lo and behold, 8wks into it, I was pregnant! Put my account on hold, gained 50lbs, and gave birth to my son. 6wks after he was born I started back. Well, that was back in Feb, and I haven't been losing very well since then.

But as of today, I am officially 1 lb less than I was when I got pregnant! YEAH ME!!!

And I'm from South Dakota, just like Jillian. Is it weird that I look for her when i visit the COD? Jillian, if you ever meet a crazy lady saying she knows you from 3FC, please don't be scared

Dan, I also find that as soon as I'm home, the last thing I want to do is sit down at a computer. I did help my DD with her programming homework this weekend, and she was so surprized that I knew what to do!! I've only been a software engineer for a couple of decades now.... So sorry that your other dog is sad. My cat was beside himself when our dog passed, he meowed for hours upon hours (loud Siamese wailing that sounds like someone is doing something mean to a baby somewhere nearby). We got a second cat, just for Samurai, and he seems happier to me now.

Nicole, I was just off camping for a few days, and then had to catch back up at work when I got back. We are going to Hawaii two weeks from yesterday, so I'm going to try to be extra POP and maybe do a TO or a FF between now and then, so I feel good in a swim suit by the beach or pool.

Kim and Joni, So good to see you back!

Michelle, The COD often recommended to me to exercise less, but I consider that bad advice. The statistics show that most people who lose weight and keep it off exercise a great deal. I do think that exercising might not make you gain muscle weight right away, but I do believe it helps your body preserve the muscle mass that you do have, so when you lose it will be fat and not muscle. Lots of diet programs you lose a great deal of lean body mass as well as fat. This often makes you more prone to gain weight when you stop dieting. That is why people often go on a diet, lose a lot, and then gain all that back plus a little more. Of course I always seem to retain a bit of water for the first few weeks when I add a major new exercise thing to my program. I think that is just muscles that swell up in protest for a time. Also if you continue to exercise, you will gain a bit of muscle mass too. Annyway, in the end, I was happy being about 10 pounds heavier than my original goal, but I know that I was at least as small as last time I weight that little. So for me it was more about the way I looked and felt and less about the number on the scale. The COD tends to focus a great deal on the numbers on the scale, since that is easier to measure.

Jillian, Sounds like things are going so good for you lately! I hope DH loves his new job.

Katie, Too funny! My DH always thinks I have everything in my purse... he never asked me for underware though. We have a tent trailer, and I love camping a whole lot better since we gave up the tent. It is so much cleaner and easier to get ready... everything is just there in the tent trailer, just pack the perishibles and go.

Jillian--I work in SF, but live about 20miles south of there. I don't know how much the COD actually 'helps' me, but I figure I paid them to deal with me three times a week, so I'm going to continue to go there. And I like the constant accountability...apparently, being accountable to only myself isn't enough or I wouldn't have ended up being 250.

yeah, my old COD kept me quite accountable when i first started out and then i just stuck with it on my own. but the first 2 times i joined LAWL i stuck it out for a few months, then quit. now i've made it a lifestyle change and it's worked.
where do you work?

I work as a civil engineer for a consulting firm. We're located at 69th & Western.

I've read that you've recently come into a 'new' career...I bet it's wonderful to be spending all that time with your kids! I have a (almost) 3.5yr old girl and a 7mo old boy. I wish I got to spend more time with them, but the bills have to be paid somehow!

And congrats on DH getting a job so quickly! What does he do?
