Hello, this is my first post on this site, from what ive read so far its been really helpful regarding my weight loss. So i started with LAWL in mid june and up till now i've lost 30 lbs, which is great and im really happy with, but lately theres been a stunning stall/plateau occuring with my weight even though i have been following the plan very accurately. I used to exercise daily since it was summer but in the last two weeks ive stopped and thats mainly when ive noticed that my weight also stopped going down. I've talked to the councellors and they have recommended me that i do the Take off in order to break off this plateau and get my metabolism going again and dropping those 3lbs/ week constantly. They told me that what it does is that it basically removes toxins from the body and gets that metabolism going again to its maximum ability now what im wondering is that from your experiences is that true, and would it help me over come this plateau or are they just using that story to make another sale as usual.
Now if i do have to do takeoff they told me that its a MUST to do it with the bars, which by the way are not a part of my plan. All in all the bars plus the take off would end up costing me around 60$ canadian. now what im wondering is that should i do cuz its been around 3 months since ive done the take off.
Last question is that for those who live in canada, where would i be able to find products to substitute for the take off and la lites mainly b/c i couldnt find luna bars or knudsens around here in ontario. any help regarding this is greatly appreciated since im a university student and books alone in 2 days that im gonna have to purchase will cost me around 500$ and so im looking ways to save money on LAWL products to get my weight loss back to a normal pattern.
My center let me do the Fast Forward instead of the TO. I am doing it right now. I just don't go crazy with the "unlimited" protein. I just double what I get on the TO and that is what I eat to make up for the bars.
You can do a Take off using 4 oranges per day and a couple of luna bars too. Or grapefruits or canteloupes are also a possibility if oranges are expensive. I believe it is 1 cantaloupe per day or two grapefruits. So that would cost, way, way less. I just would write TO on my diary for the day, and they never asked me a lot of questions about what I had bought or anything. If you have trouble finding the Luna bars, try the Zone Perfect ones. I do think the Luna's are closer to the nutrition in the LA bars though.
hi there, i hope you're still with us here! quick reply - mountain equipment co-op (ottawa, toronto) carry the Luna bars, for $1.40 - best price so far. Your next best bet is to go get a case if you want, in the us, at about $1 a bar.
alternative to takeoff juice - 1 canteloupe, quartered, 4x a day for 2 days in place of the juice - for the bars, you'd have to try and find the lunas but if not, maybe a whey protein shake would do it. the lunas and the lites are high in potassium, and made of soy mainly.
Good luck!
My counsellor told me about canteloupe when i told her that the takeoff makes me gag! (About the taste AND the price)
When I did the Take Off Plan, I wasn't doing the bars and I am in Canada too. I am on Plan 3 w/o lites. You can buy the Knudsens juice at a Co-op Grocery store.
The advice provided here is good advice, but one thing it did not address is whether or not you are on a contract with LAWL. If you have a contract and expect to receive part of your money back when you have reached your goal you void that by not following their rules exactly.
If you are not under a contract, then try the options listed in here.
There is also some plateau breaking information listed in this forum. If you will do a search on it, you will find several listings of what the CODs have instructed to do in the past.
Take Off and Fast Forward are a little bit different, but I have found that both work. The FF is easier for me to do due to the unlimited Veggies and Protein.
