Here's me holding a 40 lb bag of dog food. How did I ever manage to carry all that around?

I hope it is OK to post this.

meowee 05-03-2008 08:54 PM

Yes it's okay to post that and you look amazing, girl. :high:

Well, Happy Saturday (belated - only a couple hours left!). I had my first craft show of the year today - not the greatest day for money-making, but sometimes the shows are more than just a way to bring in the $$. I really enjoy the rapport with both the customers and the other artisans:hug:. Usually I eat a whole lotta junk during the shows (typically whilst hiding in the back of my booth), but I am delighted to tell you all that I not only packed a Volumterics feast (enough calories for lunch and breakfast and snack), I ended up not even eating half of it!!! It was an indoor show, so no booth to hide in - I was in full view of the other crafters and customers, so I was keeping busy talking and schmoozing:blah:.

Now I am heading to bed - in spite of the 'light' turnout, the tables, displays, and merchandise have to be set up early in the a.m. & then taken down at the end of the day - I am worn out.:dz:

Curious to see how I've done this week - think I'll check on Monday...but I am happy to see other signs of weight loss - when I walk down the aisle on the bus I drive, I barely brush the seat backs (three months ago, I had to walk sideways !). My favorite black jacket's sleeves were kinda loose on my upper arms! I'll take it!

See you soon - have a great Sunday!

Judi

Don't ya love those "non-scale" victories?

judipurple 05-04-2008 10:05 AM

Thanks Gail, as a matter of fact, I do! :carrot:
BTW, great picture - and isn't amazing how much our bodies take without us even (conciously) knowing! (of course, our knees/backs/lungs, etc., eventually complain! :tantrum:- we just gotta start listening!)

That is an impressive weight loss - one I hope to attain one day!

meowee 05-04-2008 10:12 AM

:yay: for both of you.

Looks like another mild and :sunny: day for Northern Nova Scotia -- give me more, give me more.

Have a great day, gang . . . see you later . . .

so excited! I'm getting the book!

My mom is so sweet! She ordered the first volumetrics book for me. She knew I was hesitating to buy it right now due to financial contraints. My mom has always been very supportive of me, but she is really happy that I am losing weight and improving my health. I think she has been worried about me lately because I was so sick in February and March.

My second piece of happy news is that today I stepped on my home scale and the number was under 300. I know that the scale at my Weight Watchers meetings is like 4 or 5 pounds heavier, so I am probably going to still register at over 300 there. But I don't care. It feels great to finally see the scale at under 300 at home. So I am celebrating today by eating healthy, and in moderation. :carrot:

I made a huge amount of salad recently and have been trying to fill half my plate with non-starchy veggies. I'm trying to find that perfect level of satisfaction when I eat a meal, so that I won't be ravenous at the next meal. I think the volumetrics way of eating is awesome! Long live satiety!

:yay: SUSAN . . . both for getting the book ( your Mom) and for the terrific victory over the scale:devil:.

Gail- Wow, that picture is great.

I hit my farmers market this Wed. evening. I can't wait.

gailr42 05-04-2008 07:07 PM

Way-to-go, Susan. Great progress!!!

Ah, farmer's market. Wish we had one. I am so envious!

I saw a 52 lb bag of dog food at Costco when we were there the other day. That is exactly how much I want to have lost when I am done. So...I need to buckle down. I'm pretty sure I can't comfortably lift a 52lb bag. The 40 pounder was plenty.

Good Morning . . .

I slept in this morning, but I still managed to beat the Sun (guess he slept even longer) because he's just arriving now.

Many things to do and places to go today. I'm off for a quick little 4-day trip to Ottawa tomorrow. Hope to be able to check-in here from time to time while I'm gone, but if not -- at least you'll know why I'm missing.

Have a great moving and shking day, everybody . . . :carrot:

judipurple 05-05-2008 10:21 AM

Great news, Susan, on both the weight loss (I prefer my scale at home too!;)),and on Mom supporting your weight loss goals. You're on your way, girl! :cp::cp::cp:

Happy to see a bit of movement on my scale this morning - a wee bit more than a pound, so I'll call it 1.5! :goodscale Take whatever I get, to be sure!

Have question for anyone who might know - does tofu cause...well, *ahem*, ...digestive issues? :bubbles::eek: LOL! I made these "fishsticks" using firm tofu, panko (breadcrumbs - real crunchy), and seasonings, then baking them. The family wasn't thrilled (but I noticed they ate them all!:smug:), but I'm always willing to try new things. But it was (ahem) rather "noisy" this morning in our household, and DH seemed to "suffer" a diaretic effect this a.m., as well. I might try posting this question in the calorie counter forum as well.

See you all!

meowee 05-05-2008 10:49 AM

Don't really know JUDI . . . although I like most soybean products; tofu definitely is NOT one of them (think it's the texture). Soybeans are a legume, so I would guess that most of the offshoot products would have that effect to some degree. :dunno:

meowee 05-06-2008 06:49 AM

Good Morning . . . :grouphug:

Just a quick HI and a little  . . . Hope I'll be able to find a computer to use while I'm in Ontario, but if not, I'll be back on the weekend and will see you then.

Keep things moving and shaking . . . :carrot:

Well, today is the day I've been dreading. My dentist has me scheduled from 8am to 4pm to cap 5 teeth. I guess at least it'll slow down my eating for a while! I hate dentist stuff!:stress:
