Thanks Diane! I agree that it was time for a new thread.

I had not had any starch all day, so I stopped at Subway on the way home from work. I got a 6" turkey on wheat with a bunch of veggies. It was yummmmmy! I guess anything I do not have to cook is good though! :lol:

I am going to weigh in tomorrow morning so I will post then.

I just went to weigh in and I was down 0.4 lbs since Tuesday. I will take it! :) Any loss is a good loss. They changed my plan from red to purple today. I am hoping that speeds up my loss to the 1-2 lb per week range again. I will have to wait and see! The next time I weigh in I should be out of the 240s! WOOHOO

Hello all! Hope everyone's doing well. I finally got remotivated and I dropped below the dreaded 190 that I was at for almost 3 months.

I'm at 188 and I can see the end of the tunnel. I'm half way there. 25.5 pounds. Thank goodness. I'm going to go this. We're all going to do this.

I was up .2lbs from the other day, I was alittle annoyed because I did take-off for tow days and thought I did really well, but I had a cold and I was taking one of those cough syrups and it did not help with the weight at all.
Jen glad your back keep it going now.
Marcie (Jib) enjoy the purple plan I did well with it and thanks for mentioning me to the other Marcie, I am glad she is doing well. Are your sure you won't miss that extra starch?

everyone i am new to the group. i joined la weight loss on january4,2002,after the birth of my 4th child. can someone tell me what the 2 day take off plan is. i did the 3 day with the meat and veggies and oranges. i would like to know in detail if someone give me a example of what you eat during the 2 day .

Jib,

Just a note, I loved the purple so much more than the other plan. I was on Blue which was just smaller portion sizes than red, I found I was getting hungry with a starch and a protien in the morning. When I went back to purple I wasn't so hungry. Go figure??

Good luck on it.

Has anyone heard anything about this stuff on Good Morning America and the stuff in NY?

Congrats on your loss! Half way is a great place to be. :D I have not watched any tv for two days, so I have not seen anything about what is going on in NY.

Diane-
I am sure you will be down when you go in this week. The cold may have kept you from losing much.

I am finishing the weekend on the Red plan, starting Monday on the purple. I already had our meals planned out, and I didnt want to change them. :) I will miss that extra starch, but I think I will just eat salads for lunch...which I do often anyway. I will just not have the melba toast. I always have a nutrigrain bar for breakfast (counting it as 1F, 1S like the centers cereal bars) and I dont want to give that up. I need a really quick breakfast in the mornings. I guess I will have my other protein at either lunch or dinner...usually dinner. I am not going to miss that morning protein. What a pain!

I am on spring break this week. No class! WOOHOO Unfortunately I still have to work though. I am planning on taking a week long vacation soon. I need to get away! Bossman is making me crazy. :lol:

Jen I did not watch the Good morning thing either and I live in NY. On the previous thread it was mentioned.
divanikee the two-take off is less food. You are allowed 6 oz of protein, two veg, two la lite bars and the take -off juice 4 times a day. How do you like the program?

I have no vacation plans...anything but work! I will probably go visit my parents for a couple days...and also my brother and his wife. They all live a couple hours drive away, but I rarely make it home other than on holidays. Other than that...no idea. I dont think my boyfriend is going to be off, so I will probably spend some of time with my best friend who works from her home. I often think she plays more than she works! :lol: Maybe have a girls day out.

So fill us in...what is going on in NY?

Our center is having some special where you do the 3 day take off 4 times in a row (well...once every 14 days) during March and April. They have 10% off on the drink and all supplements. They say some people really love doing this 2 month take off thing. I told them no thanks...I would see how the purple plan works out first!

thanks for posting that information for me. so far i like the program ,i am averaging 10 pounds a month. i workout everynight to taebo when the kids go to bed. my kids are 4,3,1, and 3months. so the evening is the only time ,i get a chance to excercise...........................

what can you have on the purple plan? i also have a nutrigrain bar in the morning,i cannot wait until they switch me. i am on the red plan.........................

Purple plan is the same as red minus one starch and the 1/2 protein. You decrease your dairy serving to 4oz.

I think those are the only differences.

Hi Dixie:
The diet itself is figured out for you how much protein you can have have many starches and veg. and fruit. I think most of us are on a different plans, I am now on the gold and others are on the purple or red. It is very limited on starches I can have two a day and you also have two la lites a day. The program is one on one which I like. It is a very structured diet and really if you want to do well it is better not to cheat that is what I need to get over.

HI EVERYONE,

I WENT IN TONIGHT FOR MY WEIGH-IN. I LOST ANOTHER POUND. I ASKED IF I COULD DO THE 3 DAY TAKE OFF. I LOVE TAKEOFF BECAUSE I DON'T FEEL HUNGRY AND I HAVE A LOT OF ENERGY.SO I GO FRIDAY MORNING TO GET WEIGHED IN. DOES ANYONE FIND THAT SINCE THAT SINCE THEY STARTED THE PROGRAM ,THEY CRAVE SALT? I FIND MYSELF CRAVING FRENCH FRIES.

ANYWAY ANOTHER QUESTION I HAVE DOES ANYONE TAKE ANY OF THERE SUPPLEMENTS ,AND IF SO DO YOU FIND THEM HELPFUL?

I crave salty foods as well. I think the bars take care of my chocolate needs, but there isnt really anything for that chip/cracker/french fry/prezel fix. Maybe they need high protein/low fat french fries! :lol:

Hi All:
I guess all centers are different because my center will not let me do the 3-day take off, they said they only use the three day if you have been off the program for more than three weeks. So I am suprised about the contests for the 3-day take off when I thought you could not do it again.
Jibbelle have you tried the cheese curls I have them often because I find just a piece of bread does not satisfy me. I do not like the popcorn so much tastes kind of stale to me.
divanikee I do take the supplements the only one I do not take is the FB500. they have worked for me so far so what ever works. Congrats on the loss so far.

Hi Everyone!

I weighed in yesterday and lost another pound, which puts me at 199!!!! BOY HOWDY! I have not weighed under 200 in five years. The counselors keep threatening to put me on the Gold plan; it's smaller portions and fewer servings than the Purple, isn't it? Darn! I guess I'll cope if I keep losing weight!

I get my salty fix with the Morton Lite Salt. I usually sprinkle a boatload on a tomato. But the cheese curls do it for me, too.

Diva, I take the vitamin, the EFA, and the calcium. The calcium and vitamin you can get anywhere really, but it's convenient for me to get them at the center and they're not real expensive. I do the EFA because my triglycerides were a little high, so I needed a bit more "good" fat. Plus, I don't eat fish all that often so it helps make up for that.

Dixie, I like the program a lot because it's based on portions of healthy food, so it teaches you how to eat right. The number of servings and portion sizes vary based on the plan you're on, which is determined by how much weight you want to lose and how much you currently weigh (as near as I can figure out).

The whole NY-Good Morning America thing is what Barbs88 was going on about.

When I first started the program they gave me a sample bad of all the snack foods. I remember like the cheese curls the best, but I have not bought any since then. Maybe I should buy a few bags. Good idea! Thanks ;)

Under 200! What a great feeling that must be! CONGRATS! I can not "weight" to be there myself. :)

I am having a pretty crazy week so I doubt I will make it to the center before Saturday. That is ok with me, but I know they dont like it when you come in once a week. C'est la vie!

Congrats! I remember what that felt like getting under 200.
great Job. I am on the gold plan now I went on it at 185 pounds, you will loose a vegetable and your protien ounces will be less I think everything else is the same.
Jibbelle I have been going three times a week since I started, so I am a little bit afraid of missing. Hope you are having a good week.
I was up .6 from Saturday I have been fooling around to much so it is time for me to get with the program and FINISH. At this point I can't even do little cheats everything shows up.
Jibbelle I don't if you remember but I think I mentioned that my mother joined also and she finally went back today, I find it hard to be supportive sometimes, she is talking about exercise and I said you should be sticking to the program, she gets it in her head that if she exercise she can cheat a little. Plus she had knee surgery and a by-pass on her leg. So to me getting the weight off if important. It will take a lot of stress off of things.

I had the same problem as your mom before I joined LA. I would work out, then stop at McDonalds on the way home! SILLY ME! Best of luck to your mom. If she works as hard as you she will do great!

My boyfriend's sister just went into labor this afternoon. I will be a pseudo-aunt! I can not wait! None of my friends have had kids yet, neither has my brother. WOOHOO There's gonna be a baby!

I have had a really good week so far, just a couple tiny tiny cheats. I think I will be down when I weigh in Saturday. I would be so excited if I was down a whole pound! And if I made it under 240, that would be awesome!!!! I am going to be extra careful with those starches the next couple of days. That is what always seems to get me!

HI ,EVERYONE JUST WANTED TO SAY CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE ON THERE WEIGHT LOSS. I AM STILL DOING THE 3 DAY ,ACTUALLY I STARTED TODAY WAS SUPPOSED TO DO IT YESTERDAY. SO I GO EARLY SATURDAY MORNING TO GET WEIGHED IN,BY THE WAY WHEN EVERYONE DID THE 3 DAY .HOW MUCH WEIGHT DID YOU LOSE? THE COUNSLER SAID AT MY CENTER THAT YOU LOSE MORE WEIGHT DOING THE 3 DAY ,THEN THE 2 DAY? DOES ANYONE FIND THAT TRUE?

I have only done the 3 day one time and I lost nothing. I did, however, lose 5 lbs the week after! My counselor said that was not unusual. So dont be discouraged if you dont lose much with the takeoff...you may be like me and lose after!

I weighed in today and had a 1.8 pound loss!!! I was expecting little or nothing, especially since I gave blood on Monday before I weighed in (and we all know...a pint's a pound the world around!).

So now, of course, I'm telling myself that I'll probably gain on Saturday. Why do we do this to ourselves??? :?:

Anyway, I have now officially lost over 30 pounds on LAWL and ALMOST 40 pounds overall.

It's almost unreal to me.

As far as the initial three-day TakeOff, I lost all of 2 pounds on it. I took them pretty literally and ate a lot of good red meat! But it still got me started. And I have a bottle of the drink in my fridge if I feel like I need to do the Express two-day. So far, every time I've thought about doing the two-day, I have a big old honkin' loss like today!

And hey, they're really improved the Chocolate Peanut Butter bars, in my opinion. They really almost taste like a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup!

divanikee I only lost 1 pound on the three day, but I kept going.
Jibbelle congrats on the baby. And having a good week. I am trying not to make my little cheats into big ones.
Mary congrats on your weight loss, you've had a great week. I almost wished LA had my highest weight they say sixty but I know it is seventy pounds that I lost total I can't believe it sometimes.
Does anyone know anyone who is on maintence with LA just curious how it is?

No posts all weekend! Everyone must have been as busy as I was. I weighed in Saturday, but no loss. No gain either, so I guess that is good. I ate chinese on Friday, from a restaurant so I may have had some water weight. We will see this week when I go. I am not discouraged yet. :)

Don't fret, Jibbelle! Look how well you've done so far!

I weighed in on Saturday, but gained 0.2, which is really kinda nothin'. Plus, I was getting ready for TOM. (I *love* hormone replacement therapy! I finally know when I'm gonna get my rapidly diminshing periods!)

So it was a weekend of hot lemon water and Pamprin. Hopefully today will be better!

I actually got *two* cardio workouts in this weekend. I'm doing the Leslie Sansone walking tapes; just the one mile for now!

Diane, you'll have to be our Stabilization/Maintenance spy. We're counting on you, now! :lol:

I weighed in on Saturday, I was down .2 but then I cheated over the weekend.
Can one of you really give it to me and say get it done already Diane and stop fooling around, besides myself no one has set me straight for a while. Even at the center, Oh you are doing so well you'll do it. I know I have lost alot but I really want to finish also not be five pounds short of my goal.
Jibbelle if I ate chinese food I would probably gain 5 pounds.
You will most likely have a loss on your next weigh in.
Mary have fun with those workouts I actually took Sunday off for a change but then felt guilty later and wished I did a workout.

I think by the end of this week i may be in the 160's..i can hardly believe that. And my pants are starting to get too baggy lol...i have to go shopping this weekend. I weighed in today up from Saturday kind of expected. I am thinking of doing the 2 day take off tomarrow I will see how I feel.
The manager annoyed me a little today she asked me if I was getting extra weeks I said I am not planning on it I want to finish in the week I have, but any way she wanted me to buy some more bars and I had just recently bought extra that I really did not need and she said OH that was a while ago, It was only last month. I am sick of the things I don't want any extra. Plus I did not feel like going today but I did so I probably had an attitude when I went in. I have not been cheating so far this week.

I have been feeling a bit on the grumpy side too lately. Our center has not replaced the manager and the turnover is worse than ever! I just go in on Saturday morning now...the place makes me crazy. I hope they get their act together soon.

I was doing so well in the beginning, and losing so fast. Now it is SOOOO slow. I hope it is not like till the end. I still have a lot to lose.

Congrats on not cheating this week. I know how hard it is! Especially now that the girl scout cookies are being delivered! :lol: I have had a pretty good week too, but I have been eating a lot of frozen foods. All healthy choice and lean cuisine meals out of the frozen food guide, but I know they are not as good for me as fresh food. Things have just been too crazy to cook!

I am going to try to eat really good things today and tomorrow so hopefully I will be down on Saturday!

I hope for your sake, they get your center back together. I know how important reaching your goal is to you. How has your cheating been have you gotten back on track? Last week my sister had girl scout cookies and I did try some. But this week she invited me for dinner on St. Patrick's Day and I told her no, she makes this Irish soda bread that I probably would not have said no to. I just told her I am to close to reaching my goal and if I go to her house I would give in.
Do you find the frozen foods satisfying? Sometimes I feel I am hungry an hour or so later, than if I had a grilled chicken or something like that.
Stay focused Marcie(Jib) you can do this. Get through this slow time. It will come off.

Since the frozen meals are a protein and a starch I usually have a salad on the side with them. It keeps me satisfied.

My boyfriend brought home 4 boxes of girl scout cookies yesterday. So far so good...I have had none. I have been doing really well this week...no cheating.

I am having a big grilled chicken salad right now. :) I have not had my fat serving for the day, so I am having light dressing instead of fat free and counting it as my fat.

You still on track for the week Diane? I hope we both have great weigh ins on Saturday!!!!

I doing O.K. this week, the best week I had in a while. Tomarrow will be the test lately Saturday is the day I have been cheating on. I have been doing the two day take off a little disappointed I am not getting the nice loss that I usually get when I do it. All this starving for nothing.
You are sounding really positive this week, I am glad you had me worried there for a bit. I weigh in tomarrow so I will let you know how I did.

All is well here today. I have had a busy day...didnt even think about cheating!

I think I am going to make an egg, cheese, mushroom, green pepper, and green onion omlette for dinner. I have not made one in a long time and it sounds good.

Hi All:
I am going to try not to cheat this weekend and weigh in on Monday. I am down a little from yesterday. I was asking the councelor about stabalization again, I was looking for an extra starch in the day and she said that does not come until the end. She also said the first week was not much, adding the sour cream and mixing things that were not allowed before like potato and beef. I guess I will find out soon.

I was the same again today. But it is TOM so usually I would be up. So maybe in reality I am down. :lol: If I am not down by next Saturday I will do take off. I am going to try extra hard again this week.
