P.S. kobe21.. i know losing that last ten pounds is really hard. you may want to check the alli home page and see if you question is answered there. alli is really good at keeping me on track and i dont have the jitters.

Taylormomto6 09-29-2007 04:26 PM

I'm sorry guys. I just stopped in to read real quick, but thought I'd amswer Kob21.

I know they recommend you be at a certain weight to use Alli, but I think it is more because they don't want to be perceived as taking advantage of dieters..?? I really just don't see how it could be bad for you. I guess I shouldn't encourage you to do something against their recommendations as I'm not a doctor, but common sense tells me it shouldn't be a problem.

Maybe it has something to do with there not being enough time to establish a change in eating patterns with someone who only has a little to lose. They aren't taking into consideration people in your position who've already been losing on an eating plan, but need a little help getting to goal.

I'd say try it. I don't think it could be harmful.

Cindy T

I'll be back tomorrow guys to post to you all. I'm leaving to go play Bingo soon:)

Might have something to do with you need a certain amount of fat intake in your body. If you are under a certain weight for a height you probably aren't taking in more fat than you need. Just because a person needs to lose weight. Does not mean they are taking in to much fat and that is what Alli is for. There are many reasons like calories and carbs that can cause weight gain if a person takes to many in. That is all I can imagine about the Alli.

My gosh 134 for your height sounds really good. I am only 4 foot 11 and the chart shows I should weigh between 110 and 130 for my height and small build.

Thanks for listening gang! I plan to sleep in our son's room since he is away at college. I think I'll be able to rest better there because the oxygen won't be in the same room. We'll see how it goes. I have been trying to keep eating healthy so I don't get too worn down. Getting away today did me a world of good. It was a beautiful day for the football game, and our son and I went to Red Lobster for dinner after the game. We had a very nice visit. Hubby did fine while I was gone. He even did a load of laundry! It probably did him good to have the house to himself for a while too.

Thanks for the congrats on my losing another pound. I'm not weighing for a few days now. I have been crampy all day, so I don't want to weigh until after TOM unless it is late like last time.

Thin, smart move on checking on the meal and making arrangements for something that is good for you!

Shy, I live in a small town too, and we have 3 pizza places within 1 mile of our house. Isn't that sad???

Kobe, at 5'6", you are at a healthy weight right now. That is why they don't recommend it. That weight is in the Normal category according to the BMI, so I don't even think a doctor would advise you to lose more weight. Is there a reason you feel you have to be 115?

Bobbigene, I think all of those count as exercise. Can I count them as part of mine?????

Still, boy when it rains it pours doesn't it?? All of those job possibilities!! Keep us posted!!!

Jenn, 60 pounds is very doable!! 1 pound a week is 52 pounds in a year (although I'd like to lose 20 pounds a week to do it a bit faster, lol). Good luck!!

I just read got2get's post and we both said about the rain and pouring. Great minds think alike!! And hey girl, I am 52, wondering if I'm in menopause, and I know I have health issues (fibromyalgia, arthritis). We must be in the same boat, so we're going to have to accomplish this stuff together!

Cindy, I want to play bingo!!

Shy again, we both thought the same thing about Kobe's weight being a healthy one for her height.

I am so glad you had a nice day with your son. YES we worry about your husband BUT we WORRY about you. We want you to take care of yourself. Isn't it funny how very quickly woman start to worry about other woman they have never seen face to face. You and yours are in my prayers and I do think about you.

I have been reading a few posts on this site of people who want to be way to thin. This worrys me. Even the press is starting to give the actors and actress a hard time about how thin they are. The body was meant to have some meat on it not just be skin and bones. AND do people understand they might think they look good walking around like a skeleton but they don't and it makes them look old way before their time.

Bobbiegene
I count everything. When I do laundry there are two flights of stairs. One for the basement and one for the upstairs. That is exercise lol.

Jenn
Just think 1lb a week stays off. You are use to eating the way you needed to eat to get it off so it stays off. 20lbs a week is fast. Your body doesn't have time to adjust to the loss. The body wants it back and sure seems to try to get it back lol.

Menopausal lol I hit early menopause right after I had my tubal at ate 29. Its a great excuse when you just can't stand it anymore and want to rant lol.

Taylormomto6 09-30-2007 12:13 PM

Everyone is doing so well!! Congrats to all.

I did find some Thomas' Healthy Grains Bagels and even though I was a bit nervous to try them, they are great. They are a large bagel with 290 calories/2 fat grams, but they have 8 grams of fiber. Very filling. I even took a sandwich to Bingo (I didn't win:() made with it. I had 2% cheese and low fat salami with pepperocini and red onion, mmmm. I also brought some baked chips, a plum and a banana. I felt like I'd brought a picnic:) I didn't even miss the double cheeseburger and fries I used to order there.

Hope everyone has a great day!!

Sounds good will have to use my bagel when we go to the park to make a sandwich with. Better than going to subway.

jenne1017 09-30-2007 09:25 PM

thanks all! I imagine that there will be a little more than an initial 1 lb. loss this week (which brings me to the 60 lbs I guess).

I had salmon tonight for dinner so I might wait to take the first pill until Tuesday and make sure I cleanse a bit more...no treatment effects for me!

Have a good week all!

kobe21 10-01-2007 09:41 AM

Grrrrr

I just typed up a really long response post and it disappeared!! I hate that! I'm at work so I have to make it short and sweet. Thanks so much for everyone's responses I am going to be careful and ease into the Alli program. I have a small frame that doesn't flatter 134 lbs., and I look at the beautiful clothes I wore and all the pictures I took when I hit my lowest weight (122, I think) and really want that to happen again. My start date is this Wednesday, that is my day off of work (can you tell I am nervous about te's?). I am getting my diet in order and will be careful with the Alli. I hope everyone has a great Monday!!

bobbigene 10-01-2007 10:45 AM

Good morning all! They just can't get along without me at work - I't 10AM and I've already gotten 2 calls from work. Geez, what will they do when I lose all of my weight and win America's Next Top Model - Short & Senior competition? :dizzy:

Changed the avitar to show my two kitties. Annoying as the male is (the lighter colored one) he's a sweetie. The female beats the crap out of him at least once a week, just to show him she's still queen of the house.

Had a good weekend, didn't do much of anything. I'm on my way out to start trimming the hedges and cleaning up the front flower beds. It rained yesterday so should be great for pulling weeds! Talk to you later.

got2gethealthy 10-01-2007 12:20 PM

well weigh in day today and i lost another pound..brings me to 5 lbs.. so i am not complaining. got off track sunday but am motivated by the loss and on alli bandwagon today. bobbigene your cats are cute. i have two also and they fight all the time. kobe watch all the fat you eat and you shouldnt have te. alli helps me stay away from the high fat junk i love and is helping me love the good stuff. i feel the difference too..sue

Taylormomto6 10-01-2007 12:21 PM

Good Morning All,

Got2gethealthy- Congrats on the loss!!

To All just starting- don't worry too much about TE's, been on Alli a month and have not had one yet. Just keep your fats at or below targets and you'll be fine.

bobbi- all that yard work will be great exercise!!:)

Yesterday I had one of those days where I just wanted to eat..and eat..and eat. I'm not sure why, but I was a bit down, so I think I was trying to comfort myself. I didn't eat anything bad, just good stuff, often. I was very proud of the fact that I didn't reach for forbidden foods...now thats progress. Today I'm feeling pretty good. Need to get off this computer and clean up the weekend mess.

Tomorrow is my official weigh in date, but I weigh in every day anyway. I'm down 1 lb this week so far. We'll see what tomorrow brings. If the pound is my loss for the week, I'll be fine with it.

GREAT DAYS TO ALL!!

Cindy T

Yes that is great progress not to go for the bad foods and just eat the good stuff when you want to eat eat eat way to go. Nice weight loss again.

gottgethealthy
I just am not taking in enough fat I don't think to use the Alli yet. I could be wrong. Way to go on the weight loss.

bobbiegene
Pretty cats, sounds like mine, he beats up the Lab once a week just to keep things in order lol. Oh I will be right there beside you at the contest. Short sassy lol.

Jenne
I was so surprised to find out how much fat and such was in salmon. I thought oh this is good for me and then found out what was in it.

StillTryin 10-01-2007 12:52 PM
