Tammy - glad to hear that your spousal unit is doing better!
Got to move the ticker down a pound so I'm pleased with my performance last week. |
Congrats to those who are losing! I discovered this week that ice cream really IS my comfort food. I have had ice cream every single day, and sometimes more than once a day. Think it has something to do with nerves???? I need to get things under control before I gain back all of what I've lost!
Bob was eating real food yesterday, and he said it sucked so he must be feeling better. He was still on oxygen and monitors, but things are looking better. I won't be surprised if he gets to come home today, but I'm not sure that he is ready. Not sure I am ready. He even had the nurse call me last night so he could talk to me. He said he just wanted to tell me how much he misses me and loves me. Gotta love him!! Take care all, and I hope things are back to "normal" here soon. |
tammy glad things are going better for you. my grandson who is 15 months old is still visiting me. i love the little guy, but man he can sure make an old granny tired !:dizzy: i am not losing weight !! i jounal, follow the plan drink water but it isnt budgeing i am to say the least disappointed. i have to get this weight off and when i stepped on the scale to peek it said i gained the 2 pounds i lost !! sue

Sue, sorry about those 2 pounds! I don't even want to see what damage that I've done this week!!!! LOL to your grandson. I'm sure he's a cutie.
Well, Bob can't come home today. In fact, the doctor told him at least 3 more days. He is back on an IV, increase in the oxygen, more pain meds. I could have cried. I'm going early tomorrow to talk to the doctor myself. |

Hi got2gethealthy ~ Sorry about the split pants thing! I'm glad that lady told you so you knew :) A couple of weeks ago I bought a skirt and wore it to work a few days later... about 4pm one of our customers asked my why I had a 'security thing' on my skirt... yup, one of those things was at the bottom - the ones that clamp on and need a special tool to be removed. I had it on all day and didn't notice. :dizzy: Quote:

Okay, I have some good news too :D weighed in today at the dietitian's and I lot another 5.5lbs... so now......... are you ready? I'm in the 160's baby!!!!!!! :carrot::carrot::carrot: 169.5 to be exact, but still under 170!! I have lost 45.5 pound now :D My next weigh in is October 13th , a month away :o:o:o My dietitian is going on holidays and will be gone until then. I'm nervous being left to my own devises for 4 weeks. Hope I don't blow it. |
THINGIRL, you are doing SOOOO Good. I think maybe I should see a nutritionist..maybe that would help me. I think I will try keeping a food journal starting monday and see how that goes. Couldnt hurt, right?
Well the owner of that house finally called me. We have a verbal commitment to the house and she is going to be here the middle of October so we can work out all the details. She said she will not talk to anyone else since we have told her we want it...YIPPY!!!! It is a little more $$ than what her sister said but still VERY worth it, IMO. She may leave some of the VERY BEAUTIFUL furniture in the home also..so that would be cool. She said she would call me again in a couple days and let me know what they want as far as written commitment until they get here, plus we need a purchase agreement to get the financing in place and the appraisal done. I told her us buying it would of course be dependant on the appraisal and financing getting taken care of. I am curious on how far "off" the city's assessed value will be from the appraised value, as I know they are two totally different numbers most of the time. I have a house in town now that is appraised at almost twice what the assessed value is..I guess I have to wait and see. |
thingirl !!! awsome weightloss!! you give me hope, i'd like to get out of the 200's but i'd settle getting out of the 220's for now. stilltrying, great news about the house ! good luck.

I'm sorry to threadjack but I have a question I was hoping you ladies may be able to answer...
Since alli works by eliminating the fat in the foods you eat, if a person follows a very lowfat diet to begin with, would alli even be beneficial? |
Thingirl - way to go!!!
StillTryin - don't know how it works where you are, but in my area the appraisal (and therefore the taxes!) go up a certain amount each year unless the house is sold. Then the appraisal district resets the value at the sale price. girl81 - You aren't thread-jacking, we kind of bounce around all over the place anyway. I guess it depends on how low you mean by low. I work with people who think that low fat means leaving the cheese off their pastrami sandwich! I think most of us don't take the pill if the meal is under 10 grams of fat. I am usually under the 18 grams that alli says to hit for each meal - I have a really hard time to hit that amount at breakfast so don't take a pill. Lunch and dinner are usually right up there so I take a pill. |
Quote:
(ie) If you have a meal with 15 grams of fat, you'll only absorb around 10 if you take Alli If you have a meal with 4 grams of fat, you'll absorb 3ish, so it's really not worth taking the pill. I don't take Alli with my super low fat breakfast, but I take it with my lunch and dinner. Besides stopping you from absorbing fat - it helps you stick to your low fat diet because you don't want to have 'treatment effects' You will think twice before cheating. Once the Alli is in your system, it hangs around a bit (ie) what you ate last night at dinner can be affected by a pill you take today or what you have tomorrow might be affected by a pill you took today. It depends on your digestion and metabolism. Having said that, Alli's got your back if you do cheat - those treatment effects are fat coming out of you *undigested* so although it's not a good thing to have treatment effects, it is a good thing that fat is not going to your hips. Before Alli I was losing approx 2lbs a week on my fairly low fat diet. With Alli I'm losing 2.5 to 3 a week - I have lost over 40lbs in just 4 months. Alli is definitely responsible for my success. |
