Snack Size Popcorn

Hi!

can anyone tell me how you would count the snack sized popcorn, the ones that state only 100 calories on the box? would that be the 1 starch since we are allowed 3 cups of popcorn now on the new plan?
Thanks
Stacie

I count it as 1S...and do the same with all of the 100 calorie snacks. I don't know if it's "legal" or not, but I eat one pack of snacks/day and it hasn't slowed down my weightloss. I really LOVE the Keebler Chips Deluxe...they're nice and crunchy...a great afternoon snack for me.

I eat the snack size Stacie and thats how I count it, not sure its "legal" but it hasnt hurt me! LOL

LOL Tina we were posting at the same time and said almost exactly the same thing! Get outta my head!

wow thanks girls, I was wondering I love popcorn I figure I could have this as an afternoon treat, but wanted to make sure,
Emmysmom the Keebler Chips Deluxe what are they I have not seen them here in Canada at all?

Katy66 08-21-2007 03:27 PM

I keep the 100 cal packs around now since I get 4 starches...sometimes if I'm missing one it becomes a nice treat.

Stacie - they are mini chocolate chip cookies. They have them in our cookie aisle...there's like 6 packs in a box.

Really one is 1S? I have them but only had 1/2 a bag because it says each one makes 6Cups and 1S is 3Cups of 94% fat free popcorn. Am I doing it wrong?

Candiflip 08-24-2007 02:31 PM

Anyone? I would like to know if I can have a whole bag :)

angelbretsmom 08-24-2007 02:45 PM

the popcorn that I get is the microwave ones and on it states snack size, only 100 calories, and there is probably only about 3 cups in it, so yes this is one starch.

Candice - mini bags are 3c. The regular bags are 6c. So you are both right, just using different products.

I need…crunch…I need savory. I am tired of sweets. I like brownies and I like chocolate cake, but these are not things I would eat every day even if not on lawl. I am eating two bars each day plus fruit and that is plenty (if not too much) sweets for me.

I am still on the old plan, updated only for the glycemic index, and popcorn is not listed that I can find. I need a crunch so much that I’d be willing to use the snack packs as both of my starches. I am supposed to use breads with 35 – 50 calories as my starch, but there is a lot of fiber in popcorn so maybe that will help. I am running this by my center today, and if they say ok I will go to the grocery store on my way back to work. Popcorn will be my afternoon snack.

I am on the Blue Plan with the glycemic index and there is not popcorn allowed. I will be happy to hear what your center says and I'll ask mine. I agree that popcorn would be a great treat. Someone here in the office popped a bag the other day and it smelled sooooo good.

I read these boards every day, don't participate much, but want to thank you all for your motovation and information.

Okay, that does it...I'm having popcorn for a snack today :)
