Default Purpose of HOT lemon water

Does any one do the Hot lemon water? I have been told try it. That it helps with water retention and as a diuretic. I haven't noticed any difference. I was just wondering about any one else.

Yes, We Live by it. Usually daily. It has to be the real thing with peel and all. Not the bottled lemon juice you ad to your tea. And as hot as you can drink it. Sometimes I only get it warm, but it works. Hope this helps. You can search these threads for other posts and comments on this topic also.

I love a hot drink in the evening ....so I now I have the hot water with lemon. It is really a nice relaxing drink. I enjoy it quite a bit.

ew, just be careful the acid from the lemon eats away the enamel of your teeth over time! that is why i stopped drinking lemon water at restaurants.

I was doing it for a while, but had quit because I did not notice a difference. However, this week I was POP & gained 3 pounds, so I am going to give it another try. I'm thinking water retention due to the hot weather.

For me, I find that it does not work if I use it every day. I always try to use it first thing in the morning. I think everyone is different and you have to find out what works for your body.

I just keep Aquaban or Diurex around - OTC diuretics. I don't keep lemons around, although I could for this purpose, I guess. I just thought it would be easier to take the pill right after eating a salty meal. The directions say up to four a day and to start taking them 5-6 days before your TOM. I don't keep up with my TOM that closely so can't plan that far ahead, but I will take them for a day or so if I indulged in something too salty. I make sure I get the ones that use pamabrom as the main ingredient rather than caffeine anhydrous. They've worked so far....

and why does it have to be fresh lemons? I find when I add hot water to them they turn really bitter and icky, and the store bought lemon juice doesn't.
