Default Back from cruise

Well, I just got back from a one week cruise to Bermuda. After 3 months POP, I REALLY blew it. I mean, I ate everything in sight. I definitely need to get back on track right away! To make matters worse, the fitness instructor on the cruise hurt her knee and could not teach aerobics. She taught yoga, pilates, & FitBall for a $10/class fee. The classes were only a half hour and not particularly challenging. Needless to say, I wasn't about to waste my money. The ship was somewhat small and the walking deck ran through the pool area, which was congested at best. So between lots of eating and hardly any exercise, I bet I put on around 10 pounds. Oh, and not much water drinking either as the bottled water was very expensive. I would try to squeeze lemon into the machine water at meals, but I think my fate is sealed. Help!! I'll weigh myself tomorrow morning and try to get in on one of these challenges! This can't get much worse!

Oh sure it could, you were in Bermuda right? There is that whole scary story about the Bermuda triangle mystery.
I would much rather have you back a pound or two heavier than have you become another one the triangle's mysteries.
Maybe that's the mystery of the triangle, everything that disappears there is converted into fat and secretly deposited on all visitors. Yeah, right. Welcome back.

you'll get back into the swing of things in no time and i'm sure that most of your weight gain is water weight.

I feel your pain! I just got back from a week at the lake/Las Vegas! I was POP for about 4 days and then totally blew it the last three. I am SO scared to get on a scale! All we can do now is jump right back on the wagon, right? GOOD LUCK!

Jill - I went on a cruise last June after being pretty darn pop since beginning at the end of March. I enjoyed myself and gained 6.5lbs. (Funny thing was we traveled with 10 of us and all of the adults gained 6.5lbs). So I got back on a Sunday and started TO on Monday (and went to the COD to face the music). I lost 5.5lbs by that Friday and the other 1lb came off the following week along with some more.

Bottom line is that you didn't just go to the mall and falter at the food court. This was a special time and something that won't be repeating every few weeks. Dust yourself off and move on. You will be surprised how much of that truly is water also. Stay strong!

Thanks all for your support! I got on the scale this morning and it didn't seem as bad as yesterday. Cassi, it's funny....I think I am at the 6.5 mark, maybe a little under. I guess that's at about 1 pound/day. You are right, it was a great time and the food was fantastic. I have been running to the bathroom a lot today and have been right back on plan. I'll hit the gym tonight. I do plan to do a TO in the next day or two when I dare to go to WI. I had told them at COD that I would be in on Tues. or Wed. For now, I'll go drink more water.

Well, I'm happy to say that I went to COD today. After one week back from the cruise, I was a pound lower than when I left. I didn't do a TO because I view it as torture. I just got right on plan and hit the gym a little harder. Worked real well. Thanks for all your support.
