I tried the lemongrass coconut chicken yesterday and the southwest chicken today. Both are VERY filling and very yummy! (Tomorrow is the cilantro shrimp)
i've seen these before and always wondered if the were ok for LAWL. good info to know. i never looked that closely at them..is the black bean mango one veggie? i rarely do frozen meals just because most of them aren't vegetarian friendly and the ones that are cleared for the plan aren't that great...and aren't worth all the sodium.
lem·on·grass also lemon grass (lěm'ən-grās') Pronunciation Key
n. A tropical grass (Cymbopogon citratus) native to southern India and Sri Lanka, yielding an aromatic oil used as flavoring and in perfumery and medicine.
Basically it gives a lemony flavor hint to food without the acidic juice and it tastes "cleaner" or more pure. It's hard to describe, but when you taste it you'll get it.
Thanks for the lesson...LOL. Well, I like lemon, so I'm sure I'll like it.
The Kashi meals can be rather pricey (when compared to LCs and stuff), but I noticed Wally World seems to have the best price.
Maybe I'll see if I can find some online coupons too...I'm so cheap!
Joni - DH bought them for me because they were on sale 3 for $6. How cool was that??? They are pricey, but they are yummy too, and I think bigger than lean cuisines.
OK, back to Dan...
Here's the lemongrass chicken that I submitted, and I must say I was a little surprised they went with it. Dan... brace yourself when you get to the sodium.
LOL Dan, especially since you are sitting on your but at the computer and could have googled that answer!!! (EDIT - where's the fruit exchange come in?)
Cassi - that is a great price....the one's I have seen have been closer to $4 each. What a thoughtful DH you have...can he come and train mine?
I did just go and register on Kashi's site and after filling out a few minutes of info I got a $1.00 coupon that is good for one month. And now for the lawyer question. This online coupon says "coupon may not be reproduced or transferred." If I do copy this coupon (on the same printer that printed out the original coupon), what kind of crime have I committed? My guess is they don't want people copying a thousand of them, but am I a bad person if I make, say, 3 copies?
As far as the coupon goes, if it has a bar code, I'll bet it could be a randomly generated code that is unique to each coupon that wouldn't allow you to use it again..
Or it could simply be a meaningless warning meant to keep you from using it again and again..
That doesn't make sense about the Starches. I was checking out the wraps on Subway's website yesterday - approx. 38g Carbs - and LAWL counts a wrap as 1P, 2S, #V -
So how can these be counted 1S if they have that high of carbs?
Or how can a low carb tortilla (7g carbs) count as 1S if you count 38g Carbs 1S ?
Their exchanges etc confuse the heck out of me - it's like they don't want you to know how to figure it out on your own so you only eat the things they tell you to. (I'm sure it takes into account fat, fiber, protein etc... maybe)
