Default give it to me straight

Ok, so on a whim I joined LAWL this weekend. Today was my first day of Express and I have my first one on one tomorrow afternoon to get my plan. Today has went ok..I had an olive garden bread stick and a bowl of cereal. Other than that I was totally on plan.
Anyway, what should I expect tomorrow? Did I waste $383? Do the people at your centers hassle you to buy the bars? At $34 a box I don't want to buy them at all!
I want to hear the good and bad! whats your experience???

NO--you did not waste your money. We are all success stories on LAWL. There is good and bad with any plan but one thing I can promise is that if you follow the plan you will lose weight. period. You need to decide if you do not want to do the bars and tell them so--I would hate to tell anyone to lie but... if you really don't want a hassle tell them you can't tolerate soy--that will stop a lot of the sales pitch since the bars, etc., all have soy. Tell them you want an all food plan and go from there. There are a lot of people here that are on all food and do GREAT--just as successful as those on lites. It's all preference. I am a sweet eater so I need the bars to satisfy my sweet tooth. I happen to have a good center but some do not. Just remember who is paying! Good Luck--it's a great plan. Very balanced and it really teaches portion control.

I agree with Lea Ann..I do not eat the lites because I do not like sweets. When I stay on program I lose about 2 lbs a week. Loss has been consistent. It is truly a lifestyle change for the good....this forum is wonderful..nance

Hi Tekylla,
I am new also, tomorrow will be 1 week for me. I have lost about 7# though pretty quick. I did get a big shocker though when I went in with the cupon that they gave me for bulk discount. I mentioned that no one had informed me of this when I signed up and was told it was in my contract, when I asked to see it it was marked through. The counselor said that was because the $28 was incorrect. I told her I thought that meant that part of the contract did not apply. I must admit I was quite disappointed. I bought a couple of the bars though, just because after spending so much money up front, I didn't want to look like a quiter from the get go.
Then, I did a google on LAWL and among all the negative sites, I found this one. I decided that I would just with it since there are so many on here that had lost so much weight. I intend to be one of them. There was one quote somewhere on the sight that said something to the effect of "If you are going to buy in to the diet, then by in all the way" since it worked.
But I did see a few tricks like the Luna bars that I went out an purchased instead of the LA Lites. Anyway, best wishes with your diet.

By the way, what the heck is a COD besides a fish and a payment method?

COD= Center of Doom, in reference to your LAWL centers

You get what you put into this program. If you consistently go off this diet, then yes the money is wasted but if you stick OP as best as possible, then you will see results.

Tekylla: the bread may show tomorrow at your WI, have two cups of hot lemon water tonight so it could flush it out a little. Most counselors have your best interest at heart but some can be a little in-experienced. You must remember- they are salespeople and will try to make a sale. If you don't want to be "forced" into buying things, veer away from the supplements and the bulk casing of lites. (even though in the end it IS less money). This does not mean you will not get help, it just means you'll get it with a nice side of sales pitch. I can honestly say that if it was not for my counselors, I would never have gotten back on the plan so it DOES help. Good luck!

The plan definitely works and you did not waste your money if you are willing to put forth the effort to make it work. You do not need to do the lites for the program to work, but if you don't do them, there are 2 thinks in your contract that are null and void. First being the 50% rebate you will get back after you reach goal, which in your case would be about $180, secondly would be the 2 lbs. a week guarantee. If you follow the plan and don't reach goal by the date they set for you, they will continue the weeks for you at no charge. Now, you are going to pay way more for the lites than you are going to receive back in your rebate and the weight loss weeks are actually pretty cheap.

As far as proof that this plan works, click on the photo album links in some of our siggys to see the proof!!!!!

The other advice I would add, is that you can purchase bars at sale prices at other times than at your personal success visit. They will try to make you think that this will be your only chance to get them at a decent price. They do go on sale other times. I do not use bars or supplements.......but I did try the bars. I think they are a good tool for many people on this plan. They did not agree with my tummy or my skin, so I had to stop using them. The structure of the program is excellent, with or without bars. I did enjoy the bars when I was using them, but looking back, I am somewhat relieved that I cannot use them.

You are not alone in thinking you got ripped off after signing up. I think most of us went through that phase.......but as you can see from this website......we are all doing quite well......with or without bars and supplements. Best of luck to you.......and join us in the friends and losers thread

I know quite a few don't do the bars and more power to them!!!.. However, in my case, if I didn't have the bars, then cheating would be a constant..

Immediately after joining LAWL, I went to my favorite fast food place and ordered one last bag of their amazing fries becuase I knew it would be a long time before having them again.. And it has been..

The key to LAWL, ESPECIALLY in the beginning is not to cheat.. Dont' do it.. Having a cookie or potato chip here and there may not seem like a big deal, but it is in the beginning...

A good thing to remember is that what you eat usually shows up on the scale in two or three days..

Rapid weight loss in the beginning is normal.. Don't get used to it.. But also DON'T get discouraged...

You will be living a much healthier lifestyle if you stick to the diet and that, for me, is 50% of the incentive...

Good luck!!
