Default 101 Tips & Tricks - Day 11

Tip #11 - Set a reasonable, measurable weight loss goal

And consider what you're going to do to attain it: You might decide to limit your fat and calorie intake and take 10,000 steps per day to lose a pound per week for example. "If you set a specific goal that has process and outcome aspects, it gives you specific targets to meet, which provides positive reinforcement," says Daniel S. Kirschenbaum, Ph.D., clinical director of Healthy Living Academies and a professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago.

I find since I have so much to lose that setting small 5 or 10 lbs goals is more reasonable and attainable than thinking of the end goal I have to get to. This is pretty much the type of thing we do with the weight loss challenges.

I agree, it is easier and more manageable to set small weekly goals!
