Tip #5 - Redo Your Kitchen Cabinets

Put cookies, chips and other snack foods on the top shelf and dried fruits, nuts, whole-grain crackers and other healthy fare on the lowest. The reason: Research has found that foods within easy reach are the ones most likely to be eaten.


I would add to this one just don't buy the cookies, chips and other snack foods in the first place. But this is a good idea - out of sight, out of mind.

I also read a suggestion to put a giant CLOSED FOR THE DAY sign on your refrigerator and cabinets once you have finished your dinner to keep yourself from late night snacking.

Really good advice Susan even better then the actual tip of the day. If you don't buy it you can't eat it. They say one is less likely to go out to get what they want when the craving hits as opposed to having to look for it. If we want it badly enough we will at least try to find it in the house.
