  • Good Morning ladies! How is everyone fairing today? I am off to a good start.

I am continuing to read Jillian Michaels Winning By Losing. I have to say, I think this is one of the most informative books I've ever read about dieting/weight loss. She really breaks it down and gives you the tools to assess YOUR body and how it uses fuel, how many calories you burn per day, etc. I highly recommend this book! Bottom line according to Jillian is calories burned has to exceed calories in to lose weight. Makes since, right? But then she tells you how to figure out how much of your diet should be protein/carbs/fat, because everyone is different. That is why one diet works for one person and another diet works for you. Can you tell I am really getting alot out of this book?!

I am looking to get more protein in my diet. Anyone have any good ideas for a low fat protein for breakfast? I am searching.......

Make every bite count and DRINK YOUR WATER!!!!!!!

    Sharon
  • Sharon you can make a liquid breakfast with fruits and yougart and add a scoop of protein power. How about a cheese omlet with some turkey bacon....even peanut butter on your toast.

Sounds like your raring to go.....

    good luck, Phyllis
  • Good Morning,

Sorry I've been away. I got a new computer cabinet and I was offline for a week while getting everything re-set-up. Donald is back from the hospital & I am having periodental work done in preparation for my hip surgery.

The dental work is a REALLY good diet! Sharon, I'll order the Winning by Losing book today. One more to add to my hundreds of diet books.

I'm down, but just because of my mouth. NOT a good way to lose.

Hopefully, after the surgery, when I can get back to exercising, I'll get back to real weight loss.

    Take care,

    Lynn
  • Good Morning everyone~
I'm off to a good start too. I did my WATP 4 mile super challenge. It felt good to work up a good sweat.
I think I will go buy Jillian's book.
Lynn good to see you! Sorry about the dental stuff. Sending speedy recovery vibes to you. When do you have hip surgery?
Well gotta get a shower and get some stuff done. Have a wonderful day and I'll check in later.

  • Lynn- It's good to "see" you!!! I am glad Donald is home. Sorry to here of your dental problems. But maybe it can be a stepping stone to get you going in the right direction for your weight loss...... When is your hip surgery scheduled?

I too have hundreds of diet books, but Jillians is truly one of the best ones I read. I promise you won't be disappointed!

  • hi ladies--i love the idea of a challenge! 20 lbs by september?! okie dokie.
having a bit of a rough day today--big headache (what else is new??) and i hurt my wrist doing my laundry. BUT i am being a good girl w/my food
i logged in (logging in my weight) before i got a scale and was heavier than i thought but i am now my "current" wieght hahaha so i can't even move my darn ticker but hopefully soon!!!
i'll try to log in every day but we can forget about the exercise hahaha and i don't really understand about the points so y'all just tell me what to do and i will.
  • Hi everyone,

A great source of protein for breakfast is egg whites! For example you can have 4 egg whites with 1 whole egg (or something like that). That adds the protein, minimal calories, and no fat!

You can also mix cottage cheese and yogurt together. Make it a low-fat or non-fat yogurt with low-fat or non-fat cottage cheese.

So far today is a good day for me! I am getting myself pumped up again!

    Have a terrific day!
  • Hello everyone! I've missed you all! Thanks for the note Phyllis
I am doing pretty good. Feeling good for the most part - over the morning sickness part. I'm 20 weeks now and it has gone by really fast.
My family and I are planning a trip to Minnesota later this summer to see his family so that's exciting. We've been doing alot of yard work and got out pasture cleared and it's almost ready for seed now Happy momma, happy horses!
Kids are done with school now and BORED!!! already. LOL! It took all of a day! But everyone is healthy and happy and time just flies!

I've been eating fairly healthy - watcha do about cravings! but need a kick in the butt about the water. I'm trying tho.

Talk to you soon - Have a beautiful day
