Water 101

  • Let's start witht the basics again.....WATER

    We need to drink no less than 8 glasses of water per day....yes, per day. And Cruise suggests to drink 1/2 your body weight each day. So if you weigh 200 lbs. that would be 100 oz!!!! I must admit I do well to get 8 glasses in but will try to up it.

    In his 3 Hr. diet book Cruise lists all the reasons for drinking water. But the best is it's calorie free.....He suggests drinking a glass when you get up in the a.m. and one before every meal. So there is 4 glasses right there....

    It might take a few days to get up to the recommened amount so make that your goal for the week.....

    A personal tip....I try to drink all of my water (except the glass at dinner) before 4p.m. You might be making too many nightly trips to the bathroom!

    If you don't like the taste of water try putting in some lemon, cucumber or orange slices....be creative. You can also drink sparkling water with a squeeze of lemon.

    No, coffee, tea, soda do not count.....sorry.

    So start drinking your water and your on your way.

  • I always like to aim for 100 oz per day. But I admit, I have been a little lacking in that area as well lately!

    I am going to make it a point to push the water this week! That and the treadmill every day are my goals for the week!

  • I had a very bad weekend for water...at work during the week I keep a jug on my desk and drink all day...during the weekend it is too easy to forget, feel tired, and then go get an iced coffee!

    My goal for the week is to more active, start using my tension bands daily and get the junk food out of my kitchen!
  • I have a 64oz mug and with the weather warm and humid I drink 2 of them.
    My goals for the week are to do all my planned workouts and start doing the 8minute exercises in the evening.
  • I do an 8 oz glass every hour on the hour when I'm awake. I can drink an 8oz glass straight down and then I don't have to think about it for another hour.

    After 6 years of drinking it, I still don't like it no matter what I put in it. But like my Mom always says, you don't have to like it, just do what I tell you.
  • Don't forget that if you are drinking caffiene products like coffee then you must drink 2 extra 8 oz glasses of water for every cup of coffee.
  • My water intake sucks!! Some days I am ok but others I am way off. I really forget sometimes! This is something I need to work on!
  • A personal challenge sounds in oder. 21 days to make it a habit
