Default Monday~~~June 19

Well, I know we are suppose to take Sunday off from exercise but since I didn't do any Sat. I did my WTPO dvd for 1 mile. Going to try and do it everyday this week (if this old body will take it!!!). lol

I am very serious this time around as I need the weight off for health reasons but also going on another vacation middle of Sept. and I want at least 20 lbs. off so I will have some energy!!!!

No real big plans this week, this retired life is OK!!! We have again 2 dinners out this week-end but I am learning to make better choices and not stuff myself. FINALLY.....

What are your plans for the week? Any exercise?

Good for you Phyllis! Being able to conquer eating out is a VERY important step if we are going to make this a way of life!

So anyhow, what you wrote is EXACTLY where I am at. My goal for this week is to get on the treadmill everyday! I really need to kick things into high gear! My weight is going UP, not down and I need to get back in control. I would like to be down 20 lbs by Sept as well. So I think you and I should really hold each others feet to the fire!

Planning is key to success for this way of life. You need to plan before you go shopping, so that you have the proper food in the house. You need to plan your meal times, so that it works with your schedule. And of course, having a plan of WHAT to eat should help that end of day disaster that I always face. (being tired after work, hungry and NO idea what to make!)

I want to pass along a helpful hint that I came across while reading Winning by Losing by Jillian Michaels. When you have the urge to eat, stop and think about it. Are you really hungry? Is your stomach growling? Are you having hunger pains? When was the last time you ate? Or are you just bored? Anxious? Nervous? Stressed? Examine your physical and emotional feelings before stuffing your mouth! If it is not time to eat and your stomach isn't telling you to eat, then DON'T!

Have a great Monday!

I too want to lose 20lbs by Sept. Hmmm could be a challenge in that....
Sharon I've been contemplating buying Jillian's book. I love her workouts I have. They're intense and only 30 minutes. you passed on some very good advice.

i went grocery shopping the other day and found lots of 100 calorie snacks. have y'all seen them? even doritos has them now. i got some peanuts--dry roasted--for snacks and string cheese (hopefully that will keep my blood sugar normal.) what works for me is making a little menu of what i am going to eat for the day or the next day. when i start thinking i might be getting hungry i get a big glass of water--the flavored kind woo hoo --and drink it slowly and write down what i'm gonna eat and the calories.
sorry i don't have any exercise tips but thanks for letting me join y'all

I go to the gym every morning for an hour. I'm paying that $17 per month and it's at my office, so I have no excuse not to use it. After months, it's definitely a habit now.

I could definately use a challenge about now. 20lbs would really make a great dent in the amount of weight I have to lose. I have gotten out of the habit of doing so many things. The place I work got flooded and my world is again topsy turfy. But am working hard at putting it all back together again. Still doing the salad thing though most days. At least 5 out of 7 times a week.Lets make the summer of 06 count. Time is not ours to waste for when we are finally ready to utilize time, our time may be up!

((( Tammy ))) I'm sorry things are a bit stressful for you right now. I say lets do a challenge. I'll think of some things and ya'll do the same. 15 Sept is 13 wks away. I do think daily posts will be most beneficial. We need the accountability, support and motivation to succeed at our goals.

A quick hello to everyone. My weight is slowly creeping up. I am hanging on, though. I STS this week. I would like to lose my 2 pounds this coming week...

I did 1 hour cardio today and 20 min weights.

I agree 100%. 1st challenge rules
1.Post daily 1pt
2.weigh in weekly 1pt
3.no eating 3 hrs before bed 1pt
4. a minimum of 8 8oz glasses of water 1pt for ea. 8oz glass max 8pt
5.perhaps this also? recording everything you eat on site or in a personal journal 1pt
6. exercise walking working out 8mm or something 1pt for 30 min 2pts for 1hr or more
7. do we want something about eating on plan? if yes 1pt
Daily points rather than weekly points so that we do not lose motivation
tally at the end of the day enter into Challenge Points post

Can't think of anything else right now, anybody else?
