Good morning everyone!!

  • How is everyone doing this morning??? Everyone ready for WI tomorrow??

Seems everyone must be busy because not many people are checking in.

Anyone heard from Dani lately??? She just kinda disappeared! I talked to Teri via email the other day and she sounds as upbeat as ever! Come on out Teri and let everyone know how you are doing! We miss you guys!!

Donna, check in soon and let us know how our little prego mommy is doing!

Hope everyone has an awsome weekend and a Happy Mothers Day!!!
  • Hi everyone! Laurie, I don't get up and moving in time to see morning on a Saturday much.

I've had a "me" day -- colored my hair this morning to get those grey hairs and those roots covered. Then went and got my nails done and got a pedicure -- bright purplish pink polish -- and a great foot massage.

I've been using Jergen's Natural Glow Moisturizing lotion both the one for body and the one for faces for a week now. I was surprised at how well it works -- I got great color and I'm paler than pale. I have a nice lightish gold color. I like this stuff better than any of the other self-tanners I've tried.

I miss Marcie and Daisy and Dani and Donna and all those who haven't been around for a while.
  • Hey everyone!! Remember me? I'm popping in to say hi. I am feeling so much better these days. The head doc has me on a new med, and it's really working. I haven't lost any weight, but I will!

Hubby is due back from Iraq in about a week. These past 4 months have just flown by. Not ready for him to return!

I'll probably come back to this forum. Everyone kinda pooped out on the depression forum. And I've missed you all!

Headed off to the store, talk to you all later.
  • Marice, you can come back to this forum anytime you like. Regardless of you following the plan or not. We are THAT easy to get rid of!! LOL!

I've been using it too Susan. It really works great and is MUCH better than the other things we've tried! Plus it is a moisturizer - nice bonus!

I miss Daisy, Dani and Donna as well! Marcie - glad to see you are doing better. Please post here whenever you can, regardless of what plan you chose to follow.

  • Marcie!!!!! I missed you!!!!! Welcome back!!!!!!

Sharon - I used the Neutrogena self-tanner spray last year and my husband hated it - he said it looked orange. With the Jergens, my skin feels so much better and I'm not too lazy to use the moisturizer.

This was a pretty lazy weekend for me. This week at work will be busy. And then next week I'm off most of the week since I'm scheduled for surgery for my ablation.
  • Marcie great to see you again!

Susan what is "ablation"? I hope it goes well though
  • Vicki, it's removal of the uterine lining for good. The surgeon inserts a mesh into the uterus where it expands to fill the cavity. Then he passes 90 seconds of electric current through the mesh to burn off the lining. And voila, no more bleeding, no more birth control pills and hopefully weight loss!

I have a 70% chance of never bleeding again and an 80% chance of just very light spotting.
  • Susan.... WHERE DO I SIGN UP!!!!! haha!
  • Sign me up too! What does that do to menopause? I would think that you will hit menopause naturally since they didn't take the ovaries?? Is this a routine procedure? What makes this necessary? How will you loose weight from this? Curious minds want to know...
  • Hey ladies! It does nothing to menopause. You still ovulate, but there's no lining to shed, so no periods.

It is a routine procedure -- the whole thing should take no more than 5 minutes. 3 of the ladies in the surgeon's office have had it done. Several people on one of the other boards I belong to have had it done.

I have some problem (I can't spell it) where my periods start and don't stop. Today is day 34 of the last one. We think that my using Depo Provera may have done it, but we're not sure. I was using it and stopped in 2000 when I got a divorce. My period started and 18 months later, it was still going. I was passing huge clots the size of the palm of your hand. I would stand up and absolutely flood a pad so much you could wring it out.

We tried a whole bunch of drugs, and finally had to do a D&C. At that time, the surgeon told me the D&C might not solve the problem forever. That was in January 2003. I am on very heavy doses of birth control pills and now the bleeding is back.

We opted to try this procedure first instead of a hysterectomy. This one has a 48 hour recovery period with a week of light duty and exercise vs several weeks recovery for a hysterectomy. If this doesn't work, then we'll take it out.

I expect to lose weight because I won't be constantly bleeding. Plus I won't be on the pill. I've heard that many people gain weight with the pill. We'll see what happens.

If you want to look it up, go to xxxxxxxxxxxx and check it out.
