I am just about ready to give up. I can't seem to get it together to stick to anything for even 1 day!

I'll keep stopping by here at least once a week, but no sense of me even making believe anything is going on with my eating.

Sorry to be so negative, but I'm just about out of ideas for getting myself back together.

First of all...

Hang in there Lynn. I'm not doing 100% either, but I keep trying to hang in there. Everyday I have a "moment" and some days, my whole day is a moment! It's not easy, but we gotta keep on trying!

Concentrate on being positive - even if it has nothing to do with food. Fill your mind with positive energy. The diet thing will come around. I believe sometimes you need to enjoy life without the burden of dieting ALL the TIME. Enjoy a day without worries of food and try again tomorrow. I don't know if this is the exact place to give that advice, but that's what I think.

Either way I'm sending positive thoughts to you!

Lynn We all get down on ourselves from time to time. Maybe you're trying to change too much at once? Just focus on one thing to change, one meal to change if it's the food that's getting ya. You can do this!!!! And we're here to do it with you!!

Lynn - for you! You have so much on your plate, its easy to see why you might get down at times. Just take a deep breath and R-E-L-A-X!

I now exactly how you feel!! I am right where I was a year ago; not even 1 lb gone. But I look at it and say "Well at least I am not up another 5 or 10 lbs." So while I have not lost anything, I have not gained even more. That's some sort of success at least, right? Just keep trying Lynn. That way you are not gaining more, which could negatively effect your health. Heaven knows you need to stay healthy with everything you do! And I like to think that maybe, just maybe, everything will finally click one day and I will start to actually lose some of this weight. I know it is a pipe dream, but hey, a girl's gotta dream, right?

Hang in there Lynn! We are all in this together and some of us are struggling just as much!

Hi Lynn

Don't give up. It's not easy to always eat healthy when there are so many temptations around us. Losing weight is important and exciting, but remember that changing your lifestyle and making healthy choices food wise and exercise wise is also important. When we eat healthy, we don't get sick as often or if we do, not for long. Why? Because our body has what it needs to fight any viruses, illnesses, etc...

I love food as well, and saying no to everything I like is not something I am willing to do. So what did I do? Well, I've found other ways to have it. Since I love chips, I let myself have a bowl of baked chips once a week. I love chocolate, so I let myself have a 50 calories chocolate every night as my treat. I love french fries so I make them myself in the oven by cutting potatoes and spraying Pam on the fries. Anything that I want to eat, I find a way to fit it in my lifestyle slightly different. And once in a while, if I crave something really unhealthy like fatty french fries at the restaurant, why not have them. As long, as I don't do this every single week. This way, I do not feel the deprivation that comes with a diet. It's all about finding what works for you.

Take a few minutes and write down how you feel when you eat healthy versus when eating unhealthy. In the end, you'll see that the list is longer on the healthy side. And that list is what makes it worthwhile for you to stick to healthy eating habits. You are worth it, so keep it up. Eventually, the pounds will come off.

Thumbs up

Lynn

You and I must be in the same place this week.....OK here is a for you and then a kick in the rear for both of us. Wow, we need Laurie here with that whip for us.

I too am at the same place I was a year ago......up and down like a yo yo.

You are on a good program with WW, it is NOT a fast weight loss but steady. I am going to try the CORE plan after our vacation.

With all you do, I can understand your being overwhelmed Lynn...try to make some time for you each day even if it is just a short walk, a bubble bath!

We can start fresh tomorrow and just make the daily goals easy for the first couple days, then add something new. Let's try to get the water in, I think that is a good place to start.....I will do it with you if you want to pm me and we can set small goals and baby steps. Or do it here, others I'm sure would join us.

Love ya, Phyllis

Lynn, I was where you are now last week. Someone on another site I belong to suggested that I sit down and make a list of 365 reasons for why I want to and need to lose weight and eat healthy. Write down one every single day and read the list to yourself over and over and over again.

It is tough, but it's a lifelong journey. We will be watching what we eat forever. We won't get to goal and say OK, well, I did that and now I can eat chips and cookies and ice cream and candy and fried foods all day long.

There is no set timeframe to do this either -- you have the rest of your life. Even if you only maintain for a while, that's way better than gaining. Take a deep breath and know you can do this.

Bubble bath sounds great! I love taking bubble baths. That is exactly what you need to do. Take a long, nice bubble bath. It will help.

Especially if you have a jacuzzi tub in your bathroom like we do!

But be careful with the bubble bath -- DH didn't realize you have to use less in a jacuzzi tub -- he filled the entire bathroom with bubbles -- at least the floor was clean when he was done!

Susan,

I love the image! How funny. Sounds like something I would do.

Can I use that whip on myself first?!?!? I know where you are coming from Lynn! Its hard, things have been so stressful around here these last few months that food has been my comfort and I know how bad that is! I hope for both our sakes we can get in the right frame of mind and get going again!

Lynn, don't give up, I wish I could find a book that give the solution when we feel this way but there is no magic pill or solution but I have found that reading this post really helps me, I don't write very often but I keep reading it, I just fell off for 3 weeks and gained about 10 pounds, but this week it is coming off again, I know how you feel, actually we all know how you feel, this is not easy, you know I have quite smoking and that was hard to do but I have succeeded. Loosing weight is certainly a hard battle to keep up with , but it is worth it, hang in there, it is good that you come in here and are able to post your frustration,
