Default Friday-Two more days until the challenge!

Ok Ladies, ARE YOU READY

I am going to sit down today or tomorrow and do my menus for the whole week to get a good start in April. My only advise to the newbies is to keep your meals simple at the beginning and drink your water (which is sometimes hard to do).

We have a big dinner with a group of people tomorrow night and it is all the crab legs and prime rib you want buffet!!! Then a cocktail party on Sunday afternoon.

Well, if I don't have any wine or liquor that will help and I am going to stick mainly with soup and crab legs. Their veggies usually have a butter sauce on them but if they don't I will have that instead of soup. I can't eat lettuce.
I'll do my best to be good.

I really am use to eating less now, especially in the afternoons so the Sun. party shouldn't be too much of a problem.

See ya all Sunday and Monday for WI!!!!

Good morning everyone

Phyllis, personally, I think it's okay to let go once in a while on special occasions. Mind you, I'm not saying eat everything you want, but sample what you'd like to taste. There is no harm in 2 or 3 bites of a dish even if it's cooked with butter. After all, this is a lifestyle not a diet.

From my own personal experience, when I don't eat something just because I'm not supposed to then to me it's deprivation. Deprivation = diet. What's the worst that could happen? So think about it, plan ahead and stick to it! That often works for me!

If you decide not to eat those veggies with butter sauce simply because it's unhealthy and you don't want it, then that's fine. You're not depriving yourself. Deprivation is not having something you really want. So be careful, that line can sometimes be very thin.

The JC plan is a lifestyle to bring us to a healthy weight. It's not a diet to make us miserable! There is no rush to lose weight. The important thing is to lose it and at the same time be happy with who we are. Our journey to a new me, should not be about deprivation and frustration! Let's enjoy every minute of the day and every single joy life brings us.

As you can see, I'm in a very good mood today. I feel wonderful lately. It must be because of Spring! The snow is melting and the birds are coming back and are singing! It's so wonderful outside! Have a nice day everyone! Life is too short to be unhappy. Make it a wonderful day today!

Wow! That was a wonderful post Fran! And that is such a great attitude to have. No wonder you have been so successful in your journey!!

Phyllis - how great that you will have your week planned out ahead of time! Planning is definitely a KEY ingredient to this lifestyle! I am sure you will be off to a great start on the challenge!

I on the other hand am going to have a rough start to the challenge. I will be on my daughters 8th grade class trip from Wed - Fri. Eating times will be 100% out of my control. Choices are also going to be somewhat limited as the restaurants have already been chosen. I will try to do my best, making good choices wherever and whenever I can. I will also miss out on exercise while away. I am not sure how much walking we will be doing or if it will be more time on the bus. I will count it as exercise for the challenge if I feel it was a decent amount of walking per day. If it is on the low side, I will not count it. But once I return, I plan to focus, focus, focus!! So slow start or not for me, watch out ladies!

Today I am home. Trying to do some cleaning and laundry while the kids are in school. Then it is off to therapy with Robert later (just to keep him company). Tonight Michelle has dance 5:30 - 7:30. Thats it for plans for today. Bobby is having a friend over tomorrow for a few hours. The entire weekend looks to be fairly low key for us. That sounds absolutely marvelous to me! Weather is a perfect spring day - sunny and 70!! I've got the windows open and soaking up that beautiful crisp air! Maybe I can squeeze in a walk before I have to pick up the kids?!

Have a great one ladies!

Sharon, go on line and find some chair exercises you can do seated while on the bus. You'll burn a few calories, tone a few muscles and keep from getting too bored. Lead an exercise class with the group or something.

Phyllis, at least with the crab legs, you get a lot of exercise cracking them and pulling them apart for not a lot of meat and it's low calorie.

Wow Phyllis, you are going way out for this challenge that is great...I hope it is a good one for everyone. Tomorrow, I will compile a list of the participants to date and what their goals are. Anyone is welcome to join in even after it has started, I just ask that they keep the weigh ins on Sundays or Mondays.

I am planning a vacation to Baltimore with my kids for spring break, so, this will be extra challenging for me! I will do the best that I can at my sister's and maybe I can get her to join too...

The weather was nice this morning but by the time I left for lunch it was raining. Temps are in the upper 50-low 60's not bad.

I gotta go to the kids school now to have parent teacher confrences...

Have a good day
