Default Monday Weigh In!

Good morning all!!

I have stayed the same this week which is good since Tom is just a day or two away. I always seem to get bloated just before.

I went out for dinner last night with 2 kids and my father, our usual Sunday ritual. Anyway I had a veggie omlet and hash browns, and I ate the whole thing...I was sooo stuffed. Stupid of me! I didn't need it nor did I really want to finish, but I did. I have GOT to learn not to finish my plate at the restaurant.

Hope everyone is doing well and I hope the lurkers come out and join in the conversations!

Last night, we went to one of my favorite neighborhood restaurants for happy hour and dinner. They serve BACON at the bar instead of chex mix or peanuts. Since I'm doing Atkins, I was in heaven! A salad for dinner and I was good to go! My stomach is a little upset this morning, though...

I walk into a resturant with every good intention and then the menu comes and I just lose control. A few months ago I could go in and order my food and take half of it home so that is what I will start doing again because I lost doing it that way.

I cannot eat any kind of lettuce so that makes it a bit harder for me but I have found that most soups won't raise the scale but it does have more salt that I can wash that away with water the next day.

Good job on staying the same Vicki.

Great Job Vickie...I can relate to the restaurant ordeal.
My dh travelled quite a bit therefore he prefers not to eat out so we only go out once in a while..Thank God..or I would be in real trouble..we do order in and I dp o.k. with that..No Bread basket sitting in frount of me..

I am usually pretty good at a restaurant - largely because I find it easier to behave when I have an audience... I explained all that once before... but some of the things I do is ask them to box half the entree before bringing it to me. And I always pass on bread or any sort of appetizer. I MAY have a soup or a salad (although iceberg lettuce is VERY hard for me to digest so I have to make sure it is not iceberg lettuce - this scene usually makes dh want to crawl under a rock somewhere so I just skip it altogether when I am out with him). I also don't have dessert - I may take one bite from dh but he has been instructed never to offer me more than one...

STS is good stuff Vicki! Especially with TOM... keep up the good work.

Restaurants are very hard for me as I love to eat and try new foods!!! That is why it is easier for me to just not go out while I am wanting to lose. OR, go when I am not starving and really get my mind set to order the right things! Restaurants have tons of hidden fats, unfortunately!!!!!

No one wants to eat in a restaurant with me. Yesterday we went out for breakfast and by the time I play 50 questions with the waitress and she has to go back and ask the cook about the ingredients, everyone else is starving. The waitress was really rushed yesterday as the place was packed and she kept running off before I had a chance to ask all my questions.

Then when I order and say leave this off and don't do this, half the time they don't get it right and I have to send it back and tell them I have to have a whole new one cooked or they will make me sick and they look at me funny. I can't just remove the bun or scrape it off or whatever. I got sick last week because there was a tiny piece of crouton in my salad.

I wish I could go into a restaurant and eat whatever I wanted off the menu -- but at least it keeps me out of the bread and no dessert.

Oh Naikia, sorry you are having so many problems. We have missed you my dear.

I've had personal and professional issues like a bomb dropped in my lap but mine have finally settled down to a dull roar and yours will also.

Good luck and hang in there, ck in when you can....way to go on the 2 lbs.

Welcome back, Naikia! I'm so glad the stress didn't derail your weight loss efforts. That always seems to set me back. I hope the car turns out to be a minor repair in spite of the estimate... my fingers are crossed!
