Default Give up something for Lent

OK - for some it is a tradition/requirement to give up something for Lent. Let's each of us pick a food that causes us trouble and give it up for Lent.

I'm giving up ice cream (in any form).

How about you?

I was giving up caffeine but I think I may go with sugar. I'm thinking about it.

I'm not particularly religious, but i'd love to do this too. I'll give up peanut butter and bread. They're such comfort foods for me!

I'm willing to give up something, but I need to know for how long? What I'm about to give up is a serious downfall in my diet. That is probably the more reason that I should be willing to give it up. OK it is

I've decided to go with drinking 2 cups of decaf Green tea a day...Yuck...but I think after 40 days I should acquire a taste for it..I hope.....Hey gilrs you don't have to give up something for lent you can do something..Like walking 2 miles a day..drinking 8 glasses of water or making your bed everyday (one a used a child. ...)ect...It's a sacrifice...and my mother like to remind me that it was between me an God and no one else...GULP..and when she put it that way I stuck to it..the catholic guilt will get me everytime....

ok, that sounds good because I know for a fact that I can not give up for 40 days. The thought of not having it makes me want to I can give up soda for 40 days.

I planned on doing my WATP tapes everyday. I have them from 1 mile to 5 miles and the walk & jog and the walk & kick.

I've decided that i'm giving up being hard on myself and beating myself up every time I slip a little. I figure as long as i'm staying motivated, I'm doing just fine!

I am going to give up butter......I love butter even if just a tiny bit on toast.

Good luck all. Lynn try to remember to pull this post back up when Lent is over so we can see how we have done. Thanks Phyllis

My plan is to give up at least 5 lbs. I don't believe in giving up a food or an activity or something like that.

OK, I am changing mine since I blew the butter thing already!!!!!

I am going to give up 10 lbs. I don't think I can really give up one thing totally either. But this weight has to go.
