Default McDonald's Poisoned Me!

Well, another good reason NEVER to eat fast food again. I get cravings for McDonald's french fries and about once a month I give in and have a small one. McDonald's has been LYING about them being gluten free -- they always said they had no gluten and were fried in their own fryer in their own oil so they couldn't be contaminated by anything else fried in the store.

Now they've come out and announced that whoops- they are coated with a wheat and dairy coating and they aren't gluten free after all -- they poisoned me and the 3 million other people out there with Celiac disease. That could be deadly for a small child or anyone else who eats McDonald's frequently.

I will never eat at a fast food restaurant again -- they can't be trusted. 3 people in Illinois have already filed lawsuits -- they are going to get a class action suit probably and have to pay for this one.

McDonald's poisons everyone to a greater or lesser extent, Susan...

I thought about you right away when I read that headline!

Ever see the documentary "Super-size Me"?

If not, go rent it from Blockbuster (or somewhere similar) I promise, you will NEVER eat at McDonald's again! Especially the fries!!!

Yes, I've seen Super Size Me - interesting documentary.

I only eat the fries maybe a couple of times a year and only eat a small one when I do.

My issue is that if a restaurant or food manufacturer tells you that a food item is gluten free or dairy free or vegan or whatever, they better have done the research and know it is! Don't mislead consumers.

You could find a local mom & pop that actually cuts the potatoes into fries to satisfy the craving- you'll be supporting a local business and be healthier, too! We have a great little burger place that actually "makes it your way". Food that has never been exposed to a heat lamp is wonderful, trust me!

There is actually a gluten free bakery and restaurant just up the street from me. The lady that owns it can't have gluten, corn or dairy and neither can her kids. Her food is very good.

But you know, sometimes only McDonald's fries will do -- but not any more!!!
