Default Feeling good VS Looking good

Have any of you noticed that when you eat well, exercise regularly, we feel much better about our bodies and feel more satisfied with life?

It's so strange! When I fall off the wagon, I'm sad leading to more eating, not exercising, etc... When I'm back on track, doing good again, I can look at myself in the mirror and say I look good today. I've lost a lot of weight, and it's reallly showing. Life is good!

I think we should always remind ourselves that we do look good every morning. Not to be vain but more to credit our hard work at losing weight! We've all come a long way to change our lives for the better!

Yes most definately and maybe even putting this note or reminder on the front of your refrig or on your bathroom mirrors or anywhere you will see it regularly so you will keep yourself motivated and going!

That is mostly because looking good comes from within. It HONESTLY has nothing to do with your size or shape - look at all those skinny girls who go around saying how fat they are... who here hasn't wanted to slap them upside the head more than once? But the important thing is that how you feel about yourself is reflected in how you present yourself.

This is why I stress to people to please - love yourself no matter what. You can not treat yourself right (eating right, drinking your water, exercising) if you hate yourself - If you hate yourself you will deep down feel that you are not worth the effort. Trust me - we are ALL worth the effort of being healthier.

In the meantime - make sure yo have AT LEAST one outfit that you look smashing in at all times... Go down a size? Get yourself something new even though you are not at goal. The way you feel about yourself when you are in clothing that FITS you - that feeling is priceless... do NOT cheat yourself...

Ever watch What Not to Wear? Ever notice how these people say how different they feel about themselves when Stacy and CLinton are finished with them? Do not rip yourself off... Think of it as an investment. This way on days when you feel crappy about yourself, you can put that outfit on and say "Mmmm, Hmmmm - That's what I'M talkin' about!"

Can't afford something new? Go to ebay or a consignement shop - but don't cheat yourself - this is a wonderfully self-supportive thing to do...

(PS: have they ever set up a clothing swap here? we did that once - I can't remember what site it was - if you outgrew something you posted what you had and someone else could have it for the price of the postage... this was an honor system - sometimes people did paypal to pay for the postage and sometimes people mailed you a check)

LOL You are so right! They do see themselves as fat. I could shake them sometimes.

People actually tell me I'm slim now! I am much much smaller then I was of course, and compared to what I was before, there's a big difference! I remember when I was over 200 pounds, I used to see ladies at about my size and think of them as slim. Now, I look at myself at the same size and can now see we all have some weight to lose. Many women are content with their weight. Some prefer to be large and others prefer to be slim. I'm on the prefer to be slim side as you can see.

The important thing is achieving our goals the right way! Eventually, we will all get there! After all, this is a lifetime commitment.

When I was a size four (don't laugh! I have photographic proof!), I always wanted to have more curves. Be careful what you ask for! LOL

I went through half of my workout class last night feeling like an out of shape tub of lard. It just pulled me down so low I thought I would never make it through the whole class. I did, although I wasn't able to do everything, and it was so cool to know I finished. I'm actually going back.

I agree with the clothes thing. I just didn't care what I looked like because I was so fat and I gained another five pounds just feeling like it didn't matter what I ate or did because I was already chubby.

I wish Stacy and Clinton would come to my house when I reach goal!

Can they come to my house too? I could do well with a new 5000$ wardrobe!
LOL

When I came back to work after my maternity leave and after losing a bit more then 50 pounds, I had a mini makeover done. I had red and blond highlights added to my brown hair! I had makeup on! Plus over 50 pounds gone! I came back and some people didn't even recognize me! It was so funny but hard at the same time! I've never liked to be the center of attention and believe me I got people's attention all right! They couldn't believe their eyes.

But I felt proud of how I had changed my body! And I still am! Now, if I can get those final 24 pounds gone, it will be even more wonderful!

Daisy - I like your idea of a clothing swap. Since most of you are smaller than I am right now, please send me your clothes. Nothing in my closet fits -- probably 95% of it is too big and what would fit now is summer stuff.

Daisy, I'm 5'5" and right now I'm about to get into a size 20 pant and 18-20 top.

I have short legs, so I usually can fit into a women's petite.

Yes, I have lost all the weight on Jorge Cruise. I've tried calorie counting, portion control (dietitian), so on... but I always gained the weight back before. I got tired of the starvation or the counting. This is why Jorge's lifestyle is so right for me. No counting. He's already done it for you and explained how to figure out the rest without calorie counting. It's very easy to follow!

I think we should approach the producers at What Not to Wear about doing a special episode with all of us when we reach goal. It would be fun to get together, even if we each only got one outfit out of it! WW Online features their successful people, too... hmm... I'll keep thinking...

Actually, your weight loss success story can get you into one of Jorge's books. After I sent them my success story, they asked me to become a VIP member by sending them a form that I have to fill as well a 5 minutes videotape of me. I still haven't sent them my info. I gained 7 pounds around Christmas, so I've been waiting to reach my Jorge Cruise goal again of 150 which is 2 pounds away. I received an email before Christmas from them asking me about it. I will send them my info as soon as I get those 2 pounds down again. Your success story can get you in his book or on tv with Jorge like Oprah, etc... I just have to do it now!

That's neat...

And yeah - WNTW did a reunion special once - maybe something like this would be good too...

I would do damn near anything to have Nick do my hair.
