Welcome back!!!

  • Welcome back to 3fc everyone!!! Our new server is up and running now and should make things much smoother!! Thanks Suzanne for all your hard work this weekend!!!

So how is eveeryone? What did you do this weekend while the site was down?!?!?

Boy did I ever need this site for support cause I have done horrible this weekend, the entire week matter of fact but TOM is slowly approaching and should be here any day now and boy can I feel it coming!! LOL!

Hope everyone has a wonderful Super Bowl Sunday!!
  • I have had a busy weekend. The real estate business is picking up for me and it has been crazy. I have eaten out twice and I am not happy about it, but oh well. I am ready to start the stepping challenge and get some more of this weight off. I need to finish reading the posts and go do the dishes. YUK!! Have a good one!
  • I am fixing a birthday cake for my mom after I bake it I am going to let my daughter decorate it, so that should be interesting! LOL!
  • Hi Melissia and Laurie, wow I am addicted to this site glad it's back!!!! lol

Happy the real estate is picking up for you Melissia it sure is booming down here. My youngest son is looking to buy a house down here but everything is so high for a single person to buy. I believe that payments with insurance and taxes will stop him right now.

Well, it's Super Bowl Sunday and the only reason I am interested is that I have been a Steelers fan for many years, we lived 18 miles outside Pittsburg when I was young and I spent my summers there with my grandparents until I was out of high school. I went to many baseball games there, never a football game but I have always stuck with Pittsburg teams.

My sister lives in Seattle so if they won for the very first time that wouldn't be terrible....they are all so excited their team made it to the super bowl.

We have eaten out way to many times this past week too so WI tomorrow won't be good, I can feel it in the way my clothes fit. BUT I did make it to exercise 3 x's .... so that is a first, now I need to make it my routine.

I will be good at our little party tonight, got a big veggie tray and I will try to stay out of the potato chips and dip, but I made the dip and it is LOW fat & calorie. Making the berry and angelfood cake that Melissia found for dessert.

    Happy Birthday to Lauries Mom....

    Phyllis
  • Man, I really missed you guys. It seems like forever sincve I checked in!

I'm from Packer country so I have to root for Holmgren and Hasselbeck even though they defected from the tundra... we are going to a Super Bowl party tonight. We are bringing the dessert- I will not be baking it, though. I'm also bringing fresh berries- thanks for the tip!

    Happy Birthday, Moms!

Yesterday, we planned to walk to our urban ecology center's Winterfest. They were supposed to have igloo building, sledding and snowshoeing- given our winter so far, I think the kids made mudpies. It got too cold on the lakefront so we tried our fall back plan, which was the county zoo but the temperature dropped inland, too. We hit Home Depot instead so I will walked a little between pricing all the home improvement projects we need to do this summer. Ugh.

Real estate here is still moving pretty rapidly, too. It's exciting to see neighborhoods turn around with new buyers and fixer-uppers! Phyllis, you should have your son look at some of the government programs available. I would have never believed I qualified but the income requirements are actually quite high and many cities have some really awesome affordable housing programs that will not require him to live in a rough neighborhood. A lot of the programs provide a grant for the downpayment that does not need to be repaid if you stay in the home for a specified period of time. We also have a great homebuyer program through employers in the area and they will act to secure all or a portion of a second loan so that you can reduce the payments for a period of time. I wish him luck. I have sticker shock, too!

    Have a great day all!
  • I feel your pain on the real estate housing market. I work for a mortgage company, even though I'm in Facilities, and housing here in Colorado is ridiculous. The amount of money my brother can spend to buy a great house in Kentucky where he just moved wouldn't even buy you a crack house in Colorado.

I went shopping yesterday to buy clothes and I have gone from a 22/24 to an 18/20. I was pretty excited about that. Cleaned out a bunch of clothes from my closet last night. DH didn't get the whole clothes thing.

To celebrate, I got a pedicure and I have bright screaming green toenails! Since it's freezing cold, no one but me and DH are going to see them anyway.

We are going to a Super Bowl party this afternoon. I'll be allergic to most of the stuff there, so it's easy to stay out of it. I have to root for the Seahawks since James Dobson from Focus on the Family is rooting for Pittsburgh and I cannot tolerate that man. I don't want to do anything he's doing for sure!

Claire went back in the hospital on Thursday. They hope she will get to go home again on Monday. They had her in ICU trying a bunch of things to determine exactly which virus she really has. She got really disoriented and didn't know where she was. Mary is doing fine so far, but really, really bored.
  • I hope Claire will be better soon!

When I had meningitis, I thought I just had a bad flu with a horrible sinus infection...5 days later I was delirious. My husband said he slapped me a few times and no responce so he called ems...they asked him if I was a drug addict. Anyway, at one point they gave me 2 hrs to live...I was in a coma for 4 days and had a bunch of seisures I guess...I stayed in the hospital for 16 days over christmas and had to have physical, occupational, and speech therapies. What a trip!!!
  • Thanks Suzanne - it's great to have the site up and running and not get booted off!! I sure do appreciate your hard work!!

We have had snowy, freezing cold weather this weekend. I wasn't even motivated to get out yesterday - but I did venture out today in the freezing weather (van doors were frozen again) - had to take Halle for a walk and then take my son to a super bowl party!! He has become quite the partying kid (two parties this weekend). Fortunately, I really like his friends and their parents, so letting him go to these parties has been easy so far. Its when he wants to go somewhere where I don't know the parents or kids - I won't let him go until I meet the parents! So now my DH is yelling and screaming at the TV because Steelers scored a touchdown !!! I think they can hear him in Detroit

Everyone have a great OP week!!
