Ok the new is that I finally got up the nerve and my *friend* and I have taken it to the next step..............talking on the phone. For some of you who may not know me well, that is a HUGE step for me!! HUGE STEP!!!
Ok I have been talking to this guy here online for awhile and he has never pushed me to giving him my number or pushed me to meet him or anything.....he has always told me that when I feel comfortable with him I can meet him and/or give him my phone number. During the day if I am not here on the computer he will send me an YIM just to say hello or how am I doing or "just wanted to say Hi before I go to work" kinda deal. We talk pretty much every day, he even invited me to come go with him and his kids to a friends BBQ this past weekend to watch the Panthers football game, and of course I was sick so I didn't go. Today we were talking and he said "I am going to give you my number and you call me when ever you feel comfortable with it". I have been contemplating calling all day, this is a HUGE step for me, basically I am a chicken ****! LOL! He is 39, lives about 15-20 mins from me. He has 2 kids 15 and 13, the mother left when the 13 year old was newborn so he has raised the two of them since birth. They have heard from her once in the last 13 years. He works with the phone company (BellSouth) as an Engineer and he is an EMT on the side. He seems to really have the handle on his kids being a single parent is hard on anyone but doing it as a dad, that amazes me. Guess he is really no different than me. He has actually given me advice on how to handle some situations with Steven, but one good thing he will not push advice on me or anything, only if I ask. He is all about me doing things when I am comfortable. He was in the military for 6 years and is originally from Texas, which brings me to his voice.................he has that "cowboy from Texas" voice! Our conversation was about 10-15 mins long because he works nights and I just happen to catch him while he was on his dinner break. So the fact that we have advanced to talking on the phone is a big step so we will see...............

Laurie, that sounds wonderful. I met my husband on an Internet dating site which I won't mention so I don't get in trouble. I tease him and tell him it was the cat in the photo that got me interested.
When you are ready to meet him, meet him for coffee. Then you are in a public place and if it works, fantastic, you can talk for hours and hours. If not, then you can drink it fast and run.
I met my husband at the park for a walk the first time. When we sat in the grass after about an hour of talking, he took off my shoes and gave me a foot massage -- that did it, I was hooked!
I know lots of people that have met their current spouses on line - it's the hot thing now.
