Okay - I hit the treadmill today. I didn'y get to do the full 30 min - I had to stop to go get Robert out of the pool and dressed. However, I did increase the incline and the speed. I had to up to 4.5 mph for about 6 or 7 min. Then I slowly brought it back down to 3.5 mph. I did end up walking 1.5 miles, so at least that is something!! :D
I'll aim for more of the same on Wed when we go! :carrot: Sharon |
I hit the gym today, didn't do my usual 50 min routine with me still being sick, I did about 1/2 mile on treadmill 1 1/2 miles on bike and then about 15 mins in the circuit room. I can't wait until this cold is completely gone! UGH!

OK...I finally resumed my exercise!!! I did lower body exercises and 30 minutes of stairmaster!!! YEAH!!!

Just got bsck from my evening (late night) walk w/my dog. BRRR its cold. I generally walk my dog 4-5 times a week and an exercise vidio in the morning. I allow Sundays off.
I like my "Balance Ball Weightloss" vidio. It great for mornings, low impact and relaxing so I don't dread getting up out from beneath my comfy covers to exercise. I actually find it helps my mood the rest of the day too. I'm up to the walk challenge, sounds fun! |
Yeah Marcie!!! :ebike:
Today I did 35 minutes treadmill at 2.5 mph; 30 minutes elliptical; 15 minutes strength training -- triceps, biceps, calves, leg extensions, shins and ab crunches on the ball. |
I have had the hardest time sticking to exercize!
I know this and night time munchies are my hardest obstacles other than work days....what do you all do to motivate? and does anyone else hate it as much as me?....anyway I will commit to 30 minutes on the treadmill sometime today:tread: Allie |
Allie, I've been doing it for years and I'd still just as soon skip it.
I exercise first thing in the morning -- I read in a magazine this morning on the treadmill that naturally thin women tend to exercise in the morning to get it out of the way for the day and to get their metabolism jump started. I tell myself I have to do it -- I have to eat, I have to drink, I have to breathe, I have to exercise. I go to the gym at work, so the night before, I lay out my gym clothes in the bathroom. I keep my tennis shoes by the back door. I pack my gym bag with the clothes I plan to wear to work the next day. I do all of this last thing before I go to bed. Also, you might try to get yourself started to reward yourself. At the end of a week, if you have exercised at least 3-4 times, you get a reward. It could be a bubble bath with candles, a manicure or pedicure, a new gossip magazine to read on the treadmill, or something like that. I spend $1.99 a week to buy one of the gossip magazines and I read that on the treadmill on Mondays since that's my hardest day to get going. The rest of the week, I read things like Good Housekeeping or a book or I watch TV. But I treat myself to one of the trashy Hollywood magazines since it's kind of fun. |
I hit the treadmill again today. YAY for me! I did 2 miles in 30 min and burned about 275 calories! It is so much easier with a definite schedule of when I will exercise. Too bad this "deal" won't last too much longer. I use the one at therapy while my DH is in the therapy pool. He will probably be able to drive himself in another two weeks, so its back to work for me! But I am already beginning to think about how I will replace it. I think I am going to look into joining Bally's, which is right around the corner from Michelle's dance place. Since I take her 5 times a week to dance, I figure I should be able to squeeze in 3 times of exercise. I am not looking for the total exercise package right now, just 30 to 60 min on the treadmill and maybe some free weights.
Speaking of free weights, I used my 5 lb dumbbells for about 20 min this morning while watching TV. I hope to do this regularly and tone up these arms of mine by summertime! ;) I'm doing good this time! I just need to remain focused and in control. :dizzy: TTFN- Sharon |
Great Sharon!!!! I am glad to hear that this is going well for you!!! I hope that Bally will be a great experience for you...You are soooo worth it!!!

ugh! I didn't want to over do it so I didnt' make it to the gym today, I think I really messed my self up wtih this cold when I went on Monday, maybe I will just wait to go back on Friday. Keep up the great job you are doing Sharon!! If you ever want to borrow my treadmill come on over any time! ;) LOL!

Thanks Vicki and Laurie!!! Ya know what Laurie? About a week or two before my DH's accident, my BIL GAVE me a treadmill!!! It is sitting out in my garage. There is little chance of my DH getting it in the house and upstairs for at least a few more months! Isn't that terrible? I have one and just can't use it! But thanks for the offer! ;)
